I saw KOL in a small club in Cardiff Wales just before their debut album was released..Barfly was the venue.Great club hosted many many artists..sadly knocked down now. There must of been less than 50 people watching them.I remember them being at the bar getting a drink.

I remember when this track came out, I liked them yet I thought they'd be quick to disappear like some of their contemporaries but they evolved into what the are now. I can't say I love their newer stuff, but you have to respect the integrity of the band even at the level of their success. One can respect an artist without being a fervent fan, as is my case.

J Marin you can’t continue to be a band without some kind of success. They had to move out of the van and do more. Unfortunately this music they played then wouldn’t allow for that. But I feel they kept their integrity and core sound even as they became better and more accomplished songwriters on the edge of the popular consciousness.

One of the hardest working bands I've ever had the pleasure to listen to, made music and toured till they nearly imploded! Loved there early sound, moon shine and mullet's. this album still sounds as good as it did in 2003. You could still buy psychedelic truffles and mushrooms from festivals back then! Good memories, how festivals have changed - PEACE ;)

Jason mraz rufio the uses and many more bands perform their first songs In that station. Actually. The song you and i both from Jason mraz its from 2001. And it was released everywhere else in 2003. You can google that.

I agree to the max after those three albums I can't stand Thier music any more.its just to plain and they dont experiment enough with a different sound.like after those three albums it just sounds like same old kings of Leon.take julian Casablancas for example from the strokes to the voidz is a completely two different sounds so when I go back n listen to kings of Leon it sounds boring.its like thier scared to not sound like the kings of Leon.imo

I remember falling in love with KOL. I got Youth and Young Manhood as soon as it came out and I was blown away. These guys had it all until Sex on Fire came along and they sold their soul to mainstream. Now of course, many will see this as success, but in my opinion it all went down hill from there. Their new audience most didn’t know about their original stuff and when some of them heard it they thought it was rubbish, I couldn’t believe it. I only ever listen to the first two albums, that’s the KOL I know and love.

i'm proud to say I'm one of the KOL fans that loved them since the beginning, and while there has no doubt been a HUGE change in their overall sound and image, they make it work well. I hope their next album is a mix of new and old styles. The only complaint I could ever have about their older songs are that they are too short, with a great deal of them clocking in at only around 2 minutes
