The Duellist and Blues Power are my favorite pedals I’ve bought in the last few years. Can’t say enough good things about the tones I’m able to get out of them, how easy they are to dial in, how well they pair with my Strat and Tele into Fender amps, and King Tone’s outstanding customer service.

You are such a killer player man. Please take this as a compliment, I often find myself watching another demo video after yours of the same piece of gear to "verify," so to speak, that it sounds good. Your tone, feel, sensitivity, passion, and dynamic control are off the charts regardless of what gear you are using. I love the way you play and I am absolutely going broke (happily) purchasing some of the gear you demo. I really love the king tone stuff. Crazy tube circuits are pretty killer too. If you are in to wahs, Kevin Wilson makes some pretty good ones. Again, I love your playing and enjoy your videos very much.

Picked mine up the other day. Took it to jam yesterday, and it sounded HUGE through the provided Boss Katana amps. The guy’s jaws dropped when they heard my tone with the Duellist! Best OD pedal I’ve owned in a long time!! 🎸

With the King of Tone, one of my favorites. I 've got a (very) good one though: French-made Riff Shooter with also a lot of tweaking options: triple toggle for dirt, "sound" and "voice" pots, plus the usual EQ and a "patate" booster ! ! ;-) Great playing as usual RJ \m/

I've heard guitars called 'tone machines', I've heard amps called 'tone machines', but I've not often heard pedals being tagged with that label. This one might be THE Tone Machine king. Want to add 24 pickups to your guitar? Here ya go!

I love a majority of RJ's videos.. But this is nothing short of pandering for the system. His riffs and runs on the guitar make it sound o.k.. but at the end of the day *HE* is the one who makes it great. Forget the amp, guitar, and pedal. RJ is the one that makes it sing and sound wonderful. Anyone can learn to play guitar, but a select few can make it scream. A++ Well done again, RJ!!

I have The Duellist, a Marshall Bluesbreaker mk1, and Analog King of Tone. All do their own own thing with some overlap. All great, but when using The Duellist, I typically use the String Singer side (TS inspired). The Duellist has crazy amounts of volume on tap. The Fat, Stock, and Glass switch was a great idea. Enjoying your channel RJ.

@@justingarcia7722 I have this gain stage order: KOT>Marshall Blues Breaker mk1>The Duelleist>Tumnus Deluxe. I will often use the KOT to boost either pedal directly after or, more often, the Tumnus Deluxe boosting anything before. Also, because they are similar, I set them up to work best, but complimentary, with different guitars without having to bend down mid-song to tweak.

Matt Elder thanks man, sounds like a great pedal. Currently using a KOT and Hamstead Odyssey but I’m missing a TS, more mid full style sound to get on the fly, this pedal seems the ticket. Nice set of pedals!

I have this pedal. Ironically, it sounds MUCH better with my Gibson with humbuckers then it does with any of my three fender strats. It's okay as a clean boost with my fender strats, but I have a Xotic Clean Boost and the Analogman KOT for that - both of which sound better with my strats. It's just with the strats it sounds tinny and compressed as HELL. But it does come alive with humbuckers. So I will be selling mine.

GREAT PEDAL THERE I'VE HAD TWO OF THEM THE FIRST ONE I WORE OUT BUT THEN AGAIN IT GOT DROPPED A FEW BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT PEDAL. VERY EASY AND SIMPLE TO USE COME UP WITH YOUR OWN UNIQUE PLAY IN SYSTEM FROM A PEDAL

I love that Knaggs guitar, but I have such a hangup over the pickups being different colors. It’s the pea under the mattress of this, uh, princess. I wish to holy hell that either the bridge was plain black or (preferably) that the neck was also a zebra. Zebra humbuckers always look killer.

@r.j.ronquillio Question on this video. Did you touch the guitar volume much? I can see the big difference in settings going from right side to left side but sonically it's not as drastic as I'd expect going from not only a different circuit (TS to BB) but also the different levels of gain dialed up for each. (9 o'clock on the TS/right-hand side, vs 2:30 o'clock on the BB/left-hand side). I love this pedal. I keep trying to sell it for some reason and then I get cold sweats and decide to keep it. haha. #addict

Ron, a problem I've always noted, is that many gain pedals don't really work as a useful fit with a Gibson Les Paul with PAF type humbuckers. Exactly which classic gain pedals do work good as a compliment to the PAF Les Paul? It seems as though sometimes I think any except a Rangemaster is simply a waste of time and is actually a drag on the classic combination of Les Paul and NMV Marshall. Comments?

@@daviddorrian5349 I have the Vintage Fuzz - that is an awesome pedal, although I don't use it much. But it's a great sounding pedal. If you have a booster pedal, try running that into the Duellist - you will get a richer and fuller sound. The Xotic super clean and super sweet pedals do wonders for any overdrive pedals.
