Lola - J. Harrison Ghee Charlie Price - Adam Kaplan Lauren - Tiffany Engen Don - Aaron Walpole Nicola - Charissa Hogeland George - Jim J Bullock anstergam.weebl...
Out of all of the actors, who played Lola in this show, J is the best dancer out of all of the actors playing this iconic Broadway role. His kick ass dancing skills goes with his acting & vocal skills. Superb!
i saw brendon urie as charlie price and j as lola a few nights ago and j stole the show. he was so amazing and blew the audience away. he was definitely the crowd favorite even with BRENDON URIE as charlie.
Ghee is absolutely unreal - I honestly forgot there were other performers once or twice when I was there.... I only with they would record a version with him as Lola to be released
hahaha... i saw this cast at the end of august. i was in the worst mood going to the show because i was completely out of money for the month. then this song started, and the men in heels started walking down the stairs, i just started to laugh, and it was just too hard to stay in a bad mood.
I just saw J. has Lola last weekend, what a great job. I just loved him. What a great job he does. His last song Hold me in your heart just blew me away. So powerful. I want to go back and see it again.
I'd like to put it out there that this video does not do J. Harrison Ghee justice. He is almost comparable to Billy Porter and now is playing Lola on Broadway (not even the tour). It was breathtaking when I saw it.
I saw J in Vancouver with the touring company today and he was phenomenal. At first I was a bit conflicted because I'm so used to Billie, and although he wasn't as polished or graceful, he played Lola much younger and more fierce which I enjoyed. I was the first to stand during the ovation
okay im seriously disappointed in the crowd when i went we were cheering whenever lola's crew was dancing or coming onto stage and this crowd is so dead
This performance was amazing but u can tell it isn't the casts best, I saw the London cast a few days ago and was blown away and this number was one of my favourites but I felt this one didn't have the same energy, maybe just because I'm not seeing it live but idk.
is this up for trade i literally cannot find anyone to trade with i dont understand why people go to these shows and risk a law and record if its not being shared of they give hell about trading it i mean dam i have been turned down by like six diff trades its like what the hell the they flaunt them and you go to the comments section and ask for a specific song and your comment goes ignored, anyways yea if you would trade with me that would be awsome all the other ones on youtube turned their noses up
Lola was fantastic! But after seeing dozens of different companies - I gotta say, the queens in this felt like they were just performing on auto-pilot. Might have just been an “off” night - but they just felt void of energy, pizazz and interest. People keep commenting on the energy of the crowd, but as a performer (I’ve done theater for 30+ years), amazing audience energy can’t just be expected with fun material - you have to BRIBG IT. And they were super flat in the needed sparkle. But that’s just my personal opinion. I still thought Lola was fantastic - but she shouldn’t have to carry them!
Thank you for the correction. Finally someone that knows how to spell. I posted this clip two months ago today. After 10000+ views, nobody notified me of the typo. Thank you.
I saw this cast in DC last month and not only was it sold out but it was way better than when I saw it on Broadway! Especially the ensemble. In NY they were so tired and over it but the tour had a ton of energy.
Actually, it's not really related to how full the Al Hirschfeld is each night (and I think part of the reason why they're running at about 50% of potential gross right now is that it's been over three years since they opened and - successes like "The Lion King," "Wicked," and "The Book of Mormon" aside - that's quite a long time for a musical to run on Broadway; I think there are currently only three shows other than the ones I just named that have been open as long as "Kinky Boots" - "Jersey Boys" is doing worse, and "Phantom" and "Chicago" aren't doing a whole lot better) - this is the national touring cast, not the current Broadway cast. I just got home from seeing the national tour tonight (I saw it three times, the last time it was in town, so this wasn't my time to Kinky Boots), and I think part of the issue with energy in this video is the recording itself. It's a Tuesday night, but the whole cast had a ton of energy - plus, J. Harison Ghee is a terrific Lola, and Tiffany Engen is a engaging, endearing, quirky Lauren.
