If you "don't know if Matt Walsh has a cause" or "don't know if he has conviction about this", you have not listened to him very much or thoughtfully. Not a criticism of you, just feedback. The young woman had a good response to what you said.
@RagnarCrumpets

What you said IS a criticism, these people clearly have a bias against Matt Walsh or as I suspect they didn’t pay attention to the documentary at all, in fact I have very little confidence that they even watched it with how dishonest they’re being. Matt Walsh clearly states what he’s doing the documentary and has a clear goal during the movie. If you can’t see that then you’re just looking for something to criticise him on to to portray him in a false light or the far more plausible explanation…. You didn’t bloody watch it

He's very clear very often of what his idea of a good life is. Get married, have kids, create a family. He couldn't be more up-front about that. I feel like none of these people did more than an hour worth of research on the man.

You must be kidding. Walsh is a fervent catholic who wrote 5 years ago a book called "The Unholy Trinity" in which he criticized gender ideology, feminism and the left as a whole. Sure, he comes from a long line of radio hosts and he's got a knack for trolling people but he does it to prove a point, not because he's dishonest.

I think about a woman who ist envious about another woman having a kind of power because of her looks and D cup. Let´s keep it real:her envy is adequate. But what about volunerability and gentleness as well as grace. In the world where every woman is a static image this would have more power. There is a power leckage a.k.a volunerability a.k.a the possibility of real human connection. In the physical world, where change occurs adaptability and "grace" the ability to embody and accept everything that is, beeing genuine is as well power. Does accepting mean searching for an image in the outer world? This tehnique always causes suffering as change occurs. I mean, Kate is doing great by beeing honest, genuine and she carries it beautifully. Why searching for archetypes? The need to feel powerfull by image is what is detrimental and causing the envy in the first place. World is not only an image static place, it´s not what having skin is about. I know we have a need for self construct but can we please talk about this thing more. I think in Kate´s admitting that she submisses herself for a realtionship and mootherhood because of her searching for an answer, for a self construct she is kinda like debunking herself for doing things because she doesn´t know herself. She is trying to fit in the places she assumes she fits in better. She chooses getting better at fitting. I think this whole topic revolves around human connection for perpetuall self discovery and perpetuall self grounding vs. human connection. She fells under the power of masks because she herself is kinda like using this power. If she wouldn´t believe in the power of masks and would throw herself with discipline into the abyss of chance and unknowness, then, what then? I don´t know. An equilibrium, perhaps. Death sort of. More connection sort of. Maybe different connections. Now, is it sexy? Is it fun and sexy and vibrant? Very little is known about this. For me it sound also a little bit like castrating a huge part of oneselfs own reciprocity. But she would need to give up her power in the first place. Besides that, thank you Kate for sharing your expirience. You are really making me passionate
@ihateastrology
@ihateastrology 9 месяцев назад
So I think ultimately it´s about choosing: Am I choosing getting better at fitting (through knowing myself sort of better) or, am I choosing to sort of roll with the unbearable pain and loss and sort of letting it go and looking into the abyss more and rolling with that

Just watched the movie and then immediately this video. Glad I did, because without having seen it, it would be harder to follow I think. Anyhow, I really like this format, would love to see more videos like this. I found the part about how in the US, ideas and cultures can come up very quickly and are explored in a high tempo very interesting. I seems to me that the transgender culture turns out to be a very successful product, that then can be exported to e.g. Europe. In a way the same as black culture is a very populair American export product. Almost as if the US is an incubator of civil religions.

@RagnarCrumpets 2 года назад
I don’t know what the name of the girl is in the video but at around seven minutes in she says that she believes that Matt Walsh “isn’t good at searching for the truth“. I find this statement utterly ridiculous. Matt Walsh and the Daily Wire literally spent millions of dollars and multiple years on this documentary travelling the country talking to academics at universities, psychologists, historians and doctors in the field of gender dysphoria, surgery and affirmation and he also spoke to trans-people who agree with the left ideology and trans people who disagree with it. He literally went all the way to bloody AFRICA just to refute the claim that multiple genders exist outside western culture. Honestly what a ridiculous comment. And then you have the guy sitting next to her nodding along. And what do you mean you don’t think he has anything “to fight for”. If you actually watched the documentary like you claim then you would’ve seen the multiple instances in the numerous interviews where he stated very clearly that he cares about the truth, the mental well-being of our young people and how shoving all of this gender ideology down their throats can be harmful to them. He even goes up in front of the City council and calls them all child abusers right to their face! which in my opinion they are! Please don’t review something if you’re just going to sit there and say a bunch stuff that clearly isn’t true. Sorry but I actually watched the documentary🤣🤣

You touched one of the very things that I am critical of of the trans movement here in the US: the lack of sexuality. I was not able to put my finger on it before listening to your discussion. The process of bringing the subject over to policy making and the commoditization of gender fluidity across social media platforms really pulls the topic away from its core (where the implications lye) : real operative sexual identity… good discussion
@cameronscottcairney8852
@cameronscottcairney8852 2 года назад
On another note, the identity crisis that Americans face (not just individuals facing issues of gender) is very VERY much so a result of our hyper consumer culture. Which is not to say that these movements aren’t real or are bad, but rather, have roots in a system that validates the individual that sculpts itself from the outside in (like a Matt Walsh or Ben Shapiro or teenager on tiktok or a wholistic living mom on youtube or trans rights activist. It can be no other way in the US today. But atleast we can have interesting and nuanced discussions on the topic

So Matt Walsh found out that there are kids who identify as a cat, and answering questions with purr sounds, or people who are trans wolf. Not only that, it is common. So, you going to elaborate about how great the USA economy is, while creatures with green hair talk about being trans woman/wolf. And kids in schools answer questions with purr sounds. While a therapist claims that this behavior is common. So now I understand how it became a subject of a Southpark episode. A demented man who stumbles again on airforce one’s staircase, being the president of that country. Having a national debt of 30 trillion plus, no industry worthy to mention, except for weapons, being overweighted, addicted to fentanyl, meta amfetamine, or whatever designer muck lately hits skid row, while the infrastructure is crumbling and Elon Musk turned out as a being a snake oil salesman, of whom Charles Munger stated he won’t invest a dime in Tesla. Yeah, no wonder, 1 million stock price value per produced vehicle. But Walsh is “political”. Yeah, put a status on it, nice common semantic trick to avoid the content of this film. Young man, you might be the definition of delusional.

Besides his reasons, motivations, ethics, being right wing and wants the truth (and doesn't do enough to find this truth), etc. he asks interesting questions, me as a biologists and artist, with asks for an European "copy" and do this more in a neutral way (or non political way), with some different great journalists (man/woman/them/X/etc.) and send them out to ask these questions and make a great documentary film, send it to Matt and record is response. And try this with having a copy of his book.

Maybe a fruitful framework can be once more the concept of hysteria when talking about culture and sexuality? This is of course an somewhat dusty trope but was also mentioned by you guys earlier on in one of your episodes (when you were at the Stedelijk I believe?), which I would love to actually see dealt with from a contemporary point of view, as it also allows to go beyond boring talks about power dynamics (oppressor vs oppressed). And as Matt Walsh's obsession with the question 'What is a woman?' funnily enough seems to be resonating with psychoanalyst big star's questions "Was will das Weib"? or 'che voi?/What do you want from me? (typical hysterical questions) it leaves me wondering whether Camille Paglia's and other cultural pessimists' point that transgenderism is often moving from the fringes of society to the mainstream when those societies are in decline has some relevance now. Movies I can think of of the top of my head that deal with hysteria would be Malina (1991) by Werner Schroeter starring Isabelle Huppert, or the complete oevre of movie stars like Romy Schneider.

The Arabs Chinese and even some Eastern European countries hold that truth. What did he ask that was cunning? Is it not true that these are the things happening. Have the right not been accused of being boring? Yes people are making money out of this woke culture and if someone exposes it and gets money as a benefit, we say it is bad. If what matt has gone out of his way to do is bad, maybe we should ask the countries that have started banning puberty blockers for adolescents.
