Bros abeg na which award them suppose give this kind movie. The movie is typically senseless as you cannot advice someone on the consequences of the baby's future and yet she is adamant on keeping a sick child that all wealth and happiness worked for, will be spent on and yet will end up loosing the child or the family. Kudos to the directors and producers for down syndrome awareness but bros e neva reach award abeg...

Firstly I respect your perspective on this movie, that it is not an award winning movie but I like the fact that you appreciate the concept of the movie which is to create awareness about Down Syndrome and the challenges family have to overcome in reaching a decision plus the devastating effect it can have on a relationship - and this is why I believe it is an award-winning movie. the dialogue in the movie about Down Syndrome is enlightening, fantastic and excellent - it creates deep thinking. it lays all the pros and cons on the table - and this shows good research. In Nigeria to have a child with Down Syndrome would be like living in hell compare to living in a developed country where there is a lot of help financially, medically and facility wise from the government. Now I want you to consider the following: (A)Some religious organization such as: Jehovah Witness and Catholic Churches don't encourage abortion. (B) Some women find it so difficult to conceive and if by chance in later stages of their lives they do conceive and they got informed that the baby they are carrying in their womb has Down syndrome they will be reluctant to get rid of the baby. (C) Supposing a woman aborts and then she would not conceive any more what happens?

333AncientGates Bros i got your point which for real is true but i think in a country like Nigeria, doesn't make any sense having a child that will end up giving you problems and you later wished that the child was aborted instead. The movie is a nice movie for the awareness but lets look at it this way: - If the character in the movie which is the pregnant wife is well educated but still doesn't understand the risk at having such child then how will the uneducated ones react to it? A doctor will never recommend abortion for any client but in the case the doctor is advising her client who is a well learned person and yet it was difficult for her to agree with it then how do you expect the uneducated ones to react? The husband was advising her on how to build a better future for themselves but didn't deny her nor reject the pregnancy, friends and relatives had to plead with her on how to better her own future? Is she that wiser than the husband, father inlaw, friends and the doctor? She only listened to her mother who according to the movie is not even well educated. I rate this movie only for the awareness but how the message was passed to the viewers is not the best because 85% of the Nigerian population will watch this movie and still be misled. The pregnant wife character should have been someone who is uneducated and without good command of the English language as this is the best way to enlighten the people. I really appreciate your point but Nigeria is still not there yet and the people need to be properly informed. Happy New Year!!!

God was really on your side but in so many cases.....it's hard to borne a child and watch him or her suffered. So abortion is relatively the good option.down syndrome kids are not the worst person on earth but it's so painful to see that you could actually do something about it but you objected.science and technology has really improved the world. We will all rejoice well over our kids and loved ones
