Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe - Nintendo Direct 9.13.22 - Nintendo Switch 

I was just telling myself that we were needing a new Kirby game.

- The year starts off with the first fully 3D platformer game in the series - K64 finally gets (official) recognition as it is put on Nintendo Switch online - We get a whole concert and interactive website structured like it's own mini game to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series - Right Back at Ya gets a physical Blu-Ray release - The Kirby Time story book series is given a worldwide translation - We get a new eShop party game And now this. 2022 is the year of Kirby and you *cannot* convince me otherwise. And it just keeps on going. A Game Award _and_ a Tetris 99 event? HAL's been cooking like crazy this year.

This is it. Tied with Super star Ultra, this is my favorite installment in the franchise. If forgotten land brought you into the series, I HIGHLY recommend this game for every reason possible. The gameplay, the length, the difficulty, the LOOOORE, the bosses, and the music all come together in what is possibly a top five game for me. Give it a shot!

Why does King Dedede now look like he's straight out of Club Penguin?

My favorite detail is that this art style looks like that one cancelled Kirby game that had a pop-up book aesthetic. That game ended up influencing Return to Dreamland's development! This sort of detail is what makes me proud to be a Kirby fan.

We Kirby fans had a great year. We just kept getting more cake to enjoy.

never got to play the original Return To Dreamland, so I'm excited to play this one.

We really have to give it too HAL labs, they’ve been spoiling us Kirby fans rotten. 2 games already released this year and now a port of a fan favorite? That’s amazing! They’re really giving us everything for the 30th anniversary and I couldn’t be more thankful

It’s a shame to see the old dedede design be left behind, but it’s great to see a childhood favorite come back!

Had Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot been included, it would have been more worth paying full price. But I think they saved the two games for later "remakes".

Taking into account this game's plot, I guess you could say this was the CROWNING moment of the Direct for Kirby fans This makes me so unbelievably overjoyed, Return to Dream Land was such a huge comeback for the Kirby Franchise back then, and this looks so goddamn good; really glad that HAL Laboratories is going all out for Kirby's 30th Anniversary! If HAL Labs ever makes a Robobot 2.0, I will IMPLODE, Robobot is easily my favorite game ever

This was my first ever Kirby game that introduced me to the series and is also one of my favorites! I’m so happy that it’s getting the remake treatment!

When they did the sizzle reel, I zoned out for a bit, but once I heard the warp star, I immediately snapped back to attention. The moment I realized what was about to be revealed, I screamed.

This was my introduction to Kirby, playing this game with my family, and that ending that made 7 year old me feel betrayal for the first time, I am so overhyped and am excited for this game

Kirby fans are eating incredibly good this year. I cannot believe we've been blessed by three games. Kirby's Return to Dream Land is a REALLY solid title that brought back/added a lot of features that have become staples in modern Kirby games. It also has an amazing soundtrack. Absolutely worth checking out if you've never played it before.

This game to me was the best Kirby game I ever played. Anyone who is interested, preorder it now. You won't regret it.

i'm so glad they are embracing the fact everyone can also play as kirby. having 4 kirbys at once was easily the must underrated feature of the original.

I wasn't expecting them to make a remastered version of Return to Dreamland, but I'm seriously looking forward to it especially with all of the new features they're adding. It's like being able to replay my childhood game but with a new spark after all the years have passed. Seriously looking forward to this.

Man I miss goofy Wii Dedede more than I expected. Still, glad to get this gem on a popular system, hopefully Mecha isn’t shoehorned in too hard!

Seeing this game in this Direct really got to me. My brother died 11 days ago, and was a massive Kirby fan, and he would've been so happy to see this.😭 I'm looking forward to revisiting this.

Between Magolor's presence in the new subgame and the fact that his Dream Collection games seem to be included (based on his amusement park showing up on the boxart), I like that they're expanding his role in the game. It's going to make the ending hurt so much more.

This is by far my favorite Kirby game ever made. I seriously can't believe this is getting a Deluxe version! I still remember all those years ago when Kirby on the GameCube was cancelled, and just waiting and waiting for another traditional home console 2-D game to come out. Kirby's Epic Yarn made me think that we'll never get a traditional one on Wii, then shortly after, they showed this early the next year. Words couldn't describe my happiness that it was finally happening. I'm pretty much feeling that same feeling again now. I seriously can't believe this is real.

I’ve always wanted to play Return to Dreamland on the Wii but I never got the chance. Which is why I was screaming in joy that this is becoming a reality. I seriously asked myself “Am I dreaming!?” I was so happy that a Deluxe version of Return to Dreamland is coming to the Switch. Now I finally get to experience the first of the Modern Kirby games! Man, HAL Laboratories are spoiling us with the Kirby content we’ve been getting! First Forgotten Land, then Dream Buffet, and now this! We truly live in the most spectacular times! Thank you so very much for this, Nintendo and HAL.

It’s been over two weeks and I’m just SO EXCITED literally I cannot put into words what I felt when I was looking for time stamps on the Nintendo direct video during lunch that Tuesday and seeing “Kirby’s return to dreamland remaster” I nearly screamed in the middle of lunch! This was something I’ve been thinking about and hoping for for such a long time I just couldn’t believe it and then I click the Nintendo channel and I see that big beautiful thumbnail and omg I was FREAKING OUT I was banging tables and scream like OH MY GOD and I definitely got some weird looks When my friend came to me she was just like “bro it’s just Kirby calm down” NO. SHHHH she’s toxic I dropped her So then I went to discord and text my GOOD friend who likes Kirby and raved about it with him Idc if no one stops to read this I just need to put it somewhere lol because I AM SO HAPPY AND I WANNA EXPERIENCE THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN

They took the cel shading from the prototype, and brought it to the remake. I LOVE how HAL is reusing beta ideas now, and making them legit parts of the series!

The one Kirby game I regret not buying, and now I finally get the chance to experience it! Glad they kept Dedede's design from Forgotten Land!

Kirby's return to dreamland was the first kirby game I played so it holds a very special place in my heart. When this got revealed at the end of the direct I was speechless, I am so absolutely excited about this and I cannot wait to go and play through this whole game again with my brother. 💖💖

It’s such a small thing, but remastering the library of sub games across the series is such a fun idea. Even though there’s no telling if they’re just picking and choosing, I’m holding out that they go above and beyond. I would love to play Air Grind and Checkerboard Chase again.

I hope this game is a bit more difficult than the original, I really want to enjoy it like when I was a kid, I mean, I don't want it to go by too fast. OH AND PLEASE! Correct the HP of the bosses when there are 2 or more players, because that makes them very easy to defeat.

Despite them using dedede's forgotten land design, I am greatful they are remastering this game, since this was the game that me and bros would play (and their more extroverted than me), and this was the game that got me into the Kirby franchise

I did not expect Kirby's Return to Dream Land to have a remake despite its release in 2011. It was one of the best Kirby games and I'm glad that it got a remake already.
