This tune has been in my top 5 video game tunes since I played Nightmare in Dreamland on the GBA many years ago. In this arrangement I wanted to capture both the feeling of childlike discovery in a magical garden and also the feeling of relaxing on a sea of clouds.

I think the references are float islands, rainbow resort stage select (tho it is definitely one of the other stage selects in adventure if not that), and Dedede's theme. Really nice chord substitutions! This just came up in my recommended videos and I'm glad it did. Hope you do more Kirby stuff!

This is remarkable... the shifting rythems are almost telling the story of Kirby in the clouds. The clouds move and shift around in the breeze... occasionally, Kirby bumps a Gordo spike and the rythem recoils off balance. There's a clearing in the clouds, and we wind up somewhere completely new. Only to go right back up into the clouds to our original melody. This is BEYOND impressive. ❤ Oh, and side note, this was always my favorite tune from this game too. I'm a glider pilot, and every time I go out in the evening to kick cloudtops with my feet, I think of this tune :)

1:25 is there a name for this particular cadence from the Grape Garden hub? i know I’ve heard it before but this descending 7ths pattern seems to be very prevalent in the Kirby musical lexicon. Anywho, this remix is amazing!!! I’m gonna be listening to it multiple times :)

What DAW/libraries do you use to make your music? (Btw, very much enjoying your videos, esp. the ones on music theory. Subscribed!)

Thank you so much! I use Logic Pro X. In terms of libraries, I use Symphony Series Strings, Cinebrass, Session Horns Pro, and Vienna. Mostly though and especially in this tune, I just record my own instruments or make things out of sampled things, like the wine glasses in this tune. Oh and also some basic synthesis in Massive.

@@CadenceHira Thanks! This is super helpful. I will probably bite the bullet and buy Logic eventually, but the prices of the libraries are a little intimidating. I'll probably do what I can with recording real instruments and using free libraries until I get to a point where I absolutely need the fancy libraries. Thanks for your advice, looking forward to your new vids! (Also, the only other Kirby reference I caught was "Ability Room" because it's used as the rest area music in All-Star mode in Smash Bros. Melee.)
