Recorded on February 23rd, 2024. Played on a 1-Chip Super Famicom, with an original SFC controller (with a very loose d-pad for good Plasma). A sizeable improvement to my previous time of 1-19-29, which I got back in 2019.
This run was the final product of a 3 month long endeavor I dubbed "Winter of KSS", in which I tried to improve my 100% PB by as much as possible in 3 months. Playing off-and-on from the start of December 2023 until the end of February 2024, I was able to achieve this time. In the end, I'm very happy with the final product, and will probably go for a 1:11 in April! If I manage to succeed, I'll consider doing post-commentary on that run.
Running this game is probably the most fun I've had speedrunning since Super Marisa World back in 2022, and I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys SNES speedruns. In terms of how the run itself went - I'd say Spring Breeze & Dynablade were about average, Great Cave Offensive was extremely good (a subgame PB by about 15 seconds), and the 2nd half of the run was alright, but left a bit to be desired.
