@@dreggsmcgee7310 From what I've seen every time Sparg0 and KirbyKid play KK does well in the beginning then Sparg0 gets mad pissed and makes the comeback.
Kirbykid was seeded pretty low, makes sense I mean this is his first major since four months and has repeatedly missed his seed as prior events. But then again, Dark Wizzy is seeded very high all the time and he has only lately started attending evetns, and this was against Spargo in top 96, it seems way too early for a match like this Edit: ok he attended genesis
Dark jizzy has more accolades and I believe he is in the PGR too, I think those play a role in him being seeded higher regardless of whether he competed recently or not
8:15 Shield pressure like that is one thing that makes Spargo so good. Kirbykid played awesome though. 3000 games played with the character really shows. Being in the air against Cloud costed him ALOT this set. If he finds some sort of counter play to this, along with capitalizing on those edge guards, I wouldn't be surprised if he brings home the W next time
This might be doable for Kirby Kid one day, if his defense becomes more consistent and can keep up with Sparg0, and he develops edgeguard flowcharts in advantage I could see him taking a set. He'd have to get lucky obviously but still, Bassmage is making it look possible.
K Rool’s limited options out of disadvantage are so obvious tho and clouds range/frame data make every platform pressure situation, ledge trap and juggle impossible for KirbyKid to escape without taking 30-70 or dying. The only real defense he can put up is fair and nair but as we saw Sparg0 was easily punishing those with up B’s and parries. This matchup is a ridiculously uphill battle.
@@sigr2813 after the second game Kirby Kid did really well keeping up in neutral for how good Sparg0 actually is, however I agree the MU is definitely uphill, advances can be made, corner situations can be improved for the K rool main, and I think there are many spots where he can afford to hold on a little longer at kill percent while in advantage. I know its obviously a lot to ask, but I'm saying it could be achievable with practice and meta development
Having lost to KirbyKid at Momocon, I can say I'm not surprised that he made Sparg0 work. Kid's insanely talented. Moreover there's an argument to be made that K.Rool goes even with or dare I say holds advantage against Cloud. With a little more practice, I can see a future encounter going to Game 5 or even being an upset. KirbyKid kept these games closer than some of Sparg0's sets with better known top players.
Yeah but it’s dangerous af. He’s so easy to edgeguard over and over again that you might just die for it. Ganon has the same flaw: he needs to edgeguard you to win, but he can just die for it
@@jeepers3222 those are risks that you have to be willing to take when playing heavies like that, you have to use what advantages you know you have and play as safely as you can or someone like cloud who has incredible center stage game/edge guarding will just fucking clap you on stage. So you have to rely on off stage shit for that, plus Clouds recovery is assssssss, so easy to gimp him (obviously easier said than done in a tournament setting but still)
frankly kirbykid really could have won this. It seems like he really missed out on so many kills when spargo was at high percent and then right after spargo would do like 70% to him. I feel like he really underused grab like i did not see him go for it much at all.
I think you underestimate how difficult it is to grab sprago, he reacts very quickly and he mixes up his landings so consistently that you basically have to super hard read him to get a grab and he will still probably mash out of the bury so probably wont get much out of it. Sparg0 is just goated at the game but this K. Rool is nice! Is he from TX?
Kirby Kid is GOATed.I noticed he played it soooo safe and respected Spargos every move.I feel like some of the elite smash bs would have worked here just because of the "it's so bad ,its good again complex"butwe didnt see any of that .Atleast woulda caught him off gaurd(not like Spargo knows the MU or smthg lol) .but alas, THAT'S WHY Im not PR and Kirby kid is. 😄
Leo actually has said that Gluto is the best player at adapting in the game, which is interesting. Of course, he might view it differently because Leo and Gluto actually play together a ton.
because you were early. the video was uploaded and made public before it had completely finished processing. takes a bit before higher qualities are available. usually videos are uploaded and then scheduled to be public later but for something like this they just want to get them out as quickly as possible
Unfortunately not, if you watch it in slow-mo Sparg0 is just above where dash attack would hit, and even though a second later Sparg0 is in the right place for dash attack, he would have eaten a back air before getting to dash attack. Belly armor would have ran out by then too.
Once Sparg0 adapted to the K Rool cheese, he bodied him. It is a bit jarring having to deal with that annoying ass recovery and the abnormal amount of super armor K Rool has. But that's the thing about super armor. It makes it so that it's okay to make bad decisions, and that's why you don't see people doing all that great with characters that have super armor because they learn terrible habits
