He’s smart. He goes to a team that’s in desperate need of a quarterback and he doesn’t win games but he rarely loses games. He’s the definition of “game manager”. Teams with terrible play at QB will always take a QB like Kirk and he knows it. Not trying to go be great but knowing where he can get it…. Smart guy can’t be mad at that.

Yeah no, did you even listen to the interview, firstly Kirk has been playing the best football of his career the past 2-3 years and everyone agrees of all the veteran QBs out there for grabs Kirk was the best. Secondly and most importantly, they can still draft a QB lower down the draft list as a backup or wait till next year, but what they need in the building amongst all those young guys is stability and experience, and a draft pick can’t do that. Look at a lot of the QBs on the market INCLUDING FIELDS he was drafted a few years ago and is currently worth apparently so little no one wants him yet, or Mac Jones (6th round pick), draft picks guarantee you a good player that you are not sure can play in the NFL. Kirk no 1 can, no 2 is good, no 3 fits their style, no 4 has experience and no 5 can help and share that experience with their current roster and future QB. It was a smart move, expensive but smart. Did you hear what he said, he said we have to make sure we know what we are doing on on Wednesday to win, a young draft pick does not know what to do he is learning, neither really do the guys on the roster, that’s the kind of experience Kirk brings to the team. He is another coach on the field and an instant leader, and the falcons understood they needed that, and were willing to pay for it.
