She nailed it on the Anthem. :) And I've heard a few live/acoustic versions of "Break a Little", including the one you reacted to here, and I like them better than the studio version because it puts her voice front and center, and with such a pure, pretty voice all the "production" in the studio version kind of hides the edges a bit, and some of the tone and character in her voice that we love so much gets a bit lost. I hope on her next album she includes at least a couple acoustic songs in the mix because they let that side of her shine through.
Yeah... I heard those runs too! 🙋♀️ Nice reaction!!! I absolutely love hearing Kirstin live. She has a beautiful voice.. and she's beautiful inside and out too. Thanks for another great video!
Jerod, Kirstie killed it on the National Anthem! That was absolutely awesome!! She does have a most beautiful voice and tonal quality. The second song was very lovely as well. I could listen to any of the Pentatonix solo or together! They are amazingly talented individuals -- together or solo!! <3
Thanks for both reactions. I think her rendition of the Natl Anthem is unique and very strong. She seems so much more confident when singing solos these days. I also love the acoustic version of "Break a Little". The album version is heavy on production, and the vulnerability she shows here is lost.
Jarod, you just made my night doing this reaction. I suggested the acoustic version of Break A Little a couple of months ago and just loved your reaction. You really take the time to really listen to the artist and provide meaningful feedback which is very much appreciated as a fan. I just got back from attending Pentatonix's concert in Charlotte on August 4th with my son (PTX fan as well). We had a great time. It took me all day today to recover from all the driving, but it was so worth it to see them and spend time with my son who deploys soon. She slayed the National Anthem, she is definitely up there with the best of them singing this song which isn't easy to sing. Thanks for all that you do with your great and thoughtful reactions and sharing them with all of us. 😊
I have a feeling most of the people at the basketball game didn't know who she was. I'm betting they ALL did afterwards!! I really liked her solo album and this is a beautiful and emotional song, but I have to admit that this acoustic version blows the original studio version completely out of the water!!
