I found Kostaltyn hardest because with the Ice Court I think you can consistently grab Prague after the AI sacks/captures it and it basically doubles your power. I also have had some brutally bad luck getting ambushed early by the Skaven as Kostaltyn.
Kislev is a weird faction. Sometimes I find the Armored Kossars better than the Tzar Guard because of the pistols when used offensively or if I'm fighting less armored enemies. Streltsi I find dependent on if I'm fighting against armor but almost always preferred over Kossars. I like Ice Guard Glaives on the wings of my armies supporting cavalry quite a lot. I do think the roster needs a DLC to flesh it out a bit though with a few more tools or a slight buff to the horse cavalry.
Yeah overall attrition is too low in game, but the key with Ursun invocation is that it works on people besieging your cities as well. Which can allow for the garrison to actually defeat invading armies especially the defensive buffs Kislev gets.
I’m not sure belakor sailed all the way to you, when I played him you have a portal right next to your start which teleports you really Far East. Maybe the AI uses it
those static legion will move and attack too, I played Chaos and Throgg went as far as Cathay to attack the people who declared war on me because he was one of my vassals.
I really thought Bretonnnia would be my first human faction, then when 3 came out I thought Cathay would be my first. Turns out Kislev ended up being my first human faction. As Archeon I went East to conquer, and Boris ran rough shod over the Bloody Swrod and Equisite Pain. I had to rush back to fight him.
As of right now no you cannot unlock Boris Ursus on anything other than the RoC Champaign. You CAN however unlock him permanently using a mod then after unlocking him delete the mod and he is playable from them on our if you so choose to....I did. Seems ridiculous to have him locked in the IE Champaign but it's w.e.
@@LordForwind No I understand that, I'm saying you can't unlock him in IE only RoC for those that I've seen asking that question. I was confused on this myself until I had a look on forum/reddit posts clarifying this.
@@LordForwind yeah mb lol, I think of they're going to keep him locked they should at least have him available to unlock via IE instead of the RoC Champaign.
@@LordForwind They are strong yeah, but literally every single flank is under attack by orcs, chaos warriors, norsca, vampires, dryad lady, skaven, and so on. It's such a difficult game compared to other factions
@@LordForwind I also find myself starved of Favor because so many damn buildings cost favor. I never seem to have enough favor mana to use the ursun attrition power.
@@kevinelruler yeah expanding can be rough just focus on leveling up you major cities and lords and then expand its a defensive game compared to other factions
@@kevinelruler I also think CA still has a lot of balancing to do. dryad lady and festus really over power the empire generic lords. And that will make kislev surrounded. Empire literally can not hold it's eastern provinces anymore.
do the effects in the technology that require you to have the city? does that work for all your territories or just the cities corresponding to the ones you have to unlock? example: the harbor guard you talked about for Rasputin. will that work for all of my cities with harbors or just in that core city?
@@LordForwind thank you!! After your amazing help with Brittonia, I went from at least a couple dozen Brittonia starts and quits (even with infantry addition mods) to being able to go 200 turns and still be going strong!
@@LordForwind exactly! I was just so stuck on the fact of Calvary dies to spears. So I was afraid to use them for most of my army. OH! THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING. If you decide that you're out of ideas a battle map tactics would be pretty awesome. Maybe one where you talk about defending and attacking cities with the various levels of things. It doesn't have to be like a race-specific one, but if one race is particularly better than another, maybe talk about it, I used to be really good at defending places in Total Warhammer 2 but in three I think I get really overwhelmed with the whole defense supplies thing and I either don't use them or I'm not using them correctly. So what happens more often than not, is that I auto calc most of the battles, because there's just something different between rome 2, Three kingdoms, and Warhammer.
I keep hearing mixed reviews on Strelsi what's the deal with them? Honestly they look badass and I'm really drawn to recruiting them as gunpowder units to me are awesome.
@@LordForwind Weird? I've read from other player's line of sight and settlement battles are a big issue. But can't figure out how to fix the issues with this type of unit without it being a major endeavor or breaking other things.
Yeah, Kislev Cavalry reminded me of Macedonian Cav in Rome 2. Winged Lancers are fast and good on charge like Thessalian Cavalry but die fast in extended melee. Gryphon Legion hit like Companion Cavalry and can hold a bit longer but it's not ideal. Cycle charging is the only way to go for them
