KISS should re-release The Elder with the narrative links restored (plus demos, deleted tracks, notes etc.), and make the Elder Tour their (real) final tour. The whole thing would make a mint for the band and make the fans happy, too -- plus it would give the record the status it's always deserved: as one of KISS's greatest achievements.

Impossible to tour The Elder. It was released at Pauls vocal maturity, his best singing comes from that era. If Kiss tried to play The Elder songs in their final throws it would be a train wreck. Paul already relies very heavily on sync backing tracks.

As per usual, Paul has a massive hangup about anything to do with The Elder. It's really sad as it's actually some of Kiss's best work.

Love the comments Paul now makes to Gene about the song "A world without hero's" from this album. In the "video" for the song, at the end there's a close-up of Gene and there's a tear on his cheek. Paul always reminds Gene of that part and says "that's the song where you cry at the end" and Gene is so embarrassed it seems.

The thing about the Elder is that it is a great album. But not a Kiss album. And sadly it is so much better than 99% of their stuff. Paul probably can't play the song now. Too much for a 60 year old. Stick with Rock and Roll All Night. The Elder was but a brief moment in time Kiss became a serious band of musicians. Oh well.
