Very cool. I love that you ranked The Elder so high. I wasn't expecting that but it is a cool album. Only You is such a killer song. I really enjoyed this alot.
@@StoneGrooveRecords I definitely agree. Doing something out of the box like that came at probably the worst time for Kiss. If that album came out while their careers were hot, there would have been a different reaction. The music is great.
Hi Scott!!! great end for the first part of the Kiss makeup catallogue, me not being a huge Kiss fan as you guys, kind of find this very entertaining and a good way to get into their albums and start collecting them. Cheers Cristian
I was not surprised to see Alive! at number one. I was surprisd to The Elder so high. I don't recall hearing any "warning's" about The Elder before i heard it back in the 80's. I had no trouble with it at all.Loved it, always have. Very nice to see Dressed To Kill so high too. Excellent list. Pasi
People in the U.S. hated Elder t the time. Fans wanted another Rock and Roll Over or heavier, but they got a concept album and an attempt at prog rock. I think that disappointment played into why most fans didn't like it. I must say, if this were my list along Elder would not have ranked so high. I would put Alive II much higher as well but we made compromises.
Thank you. Now I know what albums I buy next from Kiss. My collection needs more Kiss-records. I was surprised that Elder was so high on your top list.
Hey Scott (Guys) Great album ranking for their makeup years and agree with a large number of where you them , I however really like Peter’s album and personal would rank it a lot higher because of how different it was at the time but I always enjoy the songs when Peter took lead vocals (probably because of my age) when the solo albums came out . Great videos guys always love seeing and hearing your KISS THOUGHTS! Take care and talk soon ~ Jeff
Peter's album ranked low due to how we felt about it as kids who loved Kiss and wanted something more rocking. As we said though, we do like the album A LOT more now than back then. Thanks for watching Brother Jeff.
Love everything KISS has released. Great songs on all albums. Only Carnival Of Souls is a bit luke warm to me. But every other KISS album is fantastic. Proud to be KISS nerd.👍
Awesome stuff. You may know this already but the guitar that Paul is holding is in the the video for the band Wang Chungs "Dance 'Hall Days". The singer apparently won it in a give away or something
Awesome video. I met Ken Kelly the artist for destroyer and love gun. He talked to me about the whole story behind drawing up destroyer. Very interesting story . Cheers
Hi guys, another great video! The records with the alternative logo on the cover are not east german releases. These are made in West Germany. But yes, some hard rock records were pressed in East Germany (Label: Amiga), for example: AC/DC - Highway To Hell, Scorpions - Love At First Sting.
@@StoneGrooveRecords Hey Trog, Kiss-records have been released in West Germany by Phonogram. The only east german label before 1990 was Amiga. Records from this label always have the "Amiga"-logo on the front cover, like this Van Halen-LP in the link below: www.discogs.com/Van-Halen-5150/release/430752 Cheers Ingo
@@StoneGrooveRecords I HEAR YOU TROG I'M NOT BIG ON THOSE 90'S AEROSMITH ALBUMS MYSELF PUMP IS MY CUT OFF ALBUM BUT THE LAST TRULY GOOD AEROSMITH ALBUM IS DONE WITH MIRRORS IN MY OPINION BUT IT WOULD STILL BE COOL FOR YOU AND SCOTT TO DO IT I LIKE THE CONCEPT YOU CAN DO SO MANY METAL AND HARD ROCK BANDS OVERKILL WOULD BE A GREAT ONE AS WELL TAKE CARE TROG LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND LOVE THE VIDEOS YOU DO WITH SCOTT TAKE CARE
@@StoneGrooveRecords Obviously, on Vulcano as on Earth, I just mean some passages tinged with epic power and Stan's voice kinda getting closer to Adamite Heights. But one has to listen to The Elder as a full narrative, in that epic sense that links Battle Hymns all the way through to Sign of the Hammer. The only problem is that the track order on The Elder is not exactly aligned with a narrative flow, actually i see it more like a cut-up, a bit like Pulp Fiction. Cheers, Trog!
Johnny Pairoux Agreed. You also have to realize they even if an album isn’t at the top of the list doesn’t mean we don’t love it. Pretty much any of the first six studio albums are tops Imo.
I have a lot of respect for Bob Ezrin and the album Destroyer. He told the guys no sex lyrics on this record. There are no sex lyrics on this album because of that.
I pretty much agree with everything you say about each individual album but my order would be much different. I do like The Elder but it's nowhere near top five. Creatures, some great songs but it's not one I have ever got into and I would much rather listen to Peter's Solo over Gene's.
Auburn Phantom Elder would be a little lower on my personal list but this was two people combining and Trog had it super high on his list. Creatures rules! Easily one of my favorites.
This list is terrible. The Elder at #4. Ridiculous. The first three sound terrible and shouldn’t be anywhere in the top 5. Alive represents the first 3 very well so you don’t need crappy sounding albums high on the list.
It’s all just opinions. I think it might depend on how old your are and if you grew up on those first three albums, as we did. Also, Alive is great but leaves out some killer deep cuts like Mainline, Strange Ways and Love Her All I Can.
@@nolifetilmetal1 my first album ever was Kiss Alive. I had Kiss the Originals and they sound terrible. Their demo sounds better than the 1st record and Dressed to Kill had such a low budget it sounds terrible as well. Eddie Kramer’s work stands up. I was also a member of the Kiss Army and like most people moved on after unmasked.
The Elder wasn't the worst? Jeeeeeeez. The Elder remains possibly THE worst album by ANYBODY I've ever heard. I stuck with 'em through Dynasty but I bailed on them for good after that Elder garbage came out. I still hate that album with a pathological vengeance. I kinda wish the band had just died in a Skynyrd crash rather than release that miserable thing.
To me Destroyer is an odd ball of an album. I think it's just not that good, I don't like it. It has some excellent songs , but Great Expectations and Flaming Youth shouldn't be on the Kiss album. RNR all over on the other hand represents what this band is all about loud and heavy rock and not children's choirs and orchestrations. I don't like Ezrin's approach. I think he got lost in hard rock. Thankfully Kramer did more albums with them. I like Love Gun, I think this is a good album minus Plaster Caster obvious clunker of a song. In the top for me are Creatures and RNR all over. I agree about Hotter than hell, killer album.
