Another of my ALL-TIME favorite George Michael songs...absolutely stunning vocals. I suggest a Listening Reaction to 'A Differnt Corner' from George Michael (Wham!) from the album 'Music From The Edge Of Heaven'. You won't be dissapointed! ❤🎼🎙

YES!!!! Everything you said! Lol Simply put, this song is gorgeous! I mean his VOCALS and of course the talented musicians doing what they do best. I could play this on repeat when it’s time to chill and I’d be in heaven! I’m so glad you got around to this song. I knew you’d be impressed. I look forward to more George Michael reactions. His entire album, Older, is beautiful. He sings from his soul on every track. I can’t recall if you’ve reacted to, Cowboys and Angels, but it’s another vocal masterpiece by George. ✌🏻🙂✌🏻

This song is exquisite. His clear and expressive tone never fails to sell every song from him I've heard. I might go ahead and buy the album! :P There are a few more tracks from it I'm gonna react to later on! :)

His versatility is incredibly. From pop to dance to R&B to jazz. He is one of the best jack's of all trades I've heard in terms of musicality.

Another GREAT reaction from you! 👏 👏 You always cover the arrangement and production and genre analysis SO much better than anyone else! And since you covered that beautifully, I want to point out something else I love about this song: the change in the lyrics that narrates the whole story of this relationship. In the first verse, George says, "Strange that you were strong enough/To even make a start" meaning he's amazed that this lover initially has the strength to look past what other people were saying about their relationship. It's a subtle dig at the lover and a reference to the beginning of the relationship. Then in the second verse he switches to "Maybe I'll be strong enough/I don't know where to start" and this time he's referring to HIMSELF. He's saying HE needs to have the strength to move on from this lover but he doesn't even know how to begin doing that. So now it's a subtle dig at himself. And the implication here is the relationship is now over. Then finally in the last verse he says, "Strange that I was wrong enough/To think you loved me too/Guess you were kissing a fool." And so we get the final summation/introspection about the relationship. He's saying he was wrong to ever get involved with someone so weak and fickle. And it's a subtle dig now at BOTH of them: at the lover for not having the fortitude to continue the relationship and at himself for being the fool. Just BRILLIANT SONGWRITING!

Damn bro YOU ARE AWESOME AND INSIGHTFUL. LOVE HOW YOU BREAK IT DOWN. GEORGE MICHAEL IS AMAZING. Michael Buble has also done a cover of this.

Thanks! Michael Buble covered this? Interesting. I'll be honest, while I'm aware of who he is, I don't know much about his music, but based on what I do know I can imagine that this would be the type of song he'd cover. He seems deep into this style of music.

I read in one of his books that he wrote this song in It’s entirety all in his head.. Including all the instrumental parts. He wrote it while he was on a trip. If I remember correctly he said he wrote this in only a matter of a few hours. It wasn’t until two years later that he actually went into the studio and recorded it. He kept in his memory the entire time and never wrote it down until he went into the studio. George was a very unique creator of music. He talked about wanting to be left in the studio alone and he would just start with a melody but literally gibberish coming out of his mouth until words formed. Super interesting to hear him describe how he created music.

That's incredible. But probably why it turned out so good. If he kept this song in his head for years before recording it, then it's no wonder how he was able to nail every note and intonation so effortlessly. It probably took him no time to lay down the vocals in the studio.

I love your insight to this. I believe I commented to you on a past video you did that this was one of my favs by him. I’m glad you liked it. I saw an ad not too long ago that The Rock was driving in a car n this track of George’s was playing n the Rock was singing along to it with a big smile on his face. I knew you would like this one. Cowboys n Angels is perfection too 😀. I loved the Faith album, but my fav will always be his “Older” album n “Listen without Prejudice”

Thanks! Yeah, this song and One More Try from Faith I could easily see someone getting caught up in while driving. Both are atmospheric, crack up the volume ballad type songs. Definitely gonna delve more into his music!

Once again; the analytical skills you present in reviewing all facets of g-money as a pure singer, songwriter, producer and arranger are spot on. The video is subjective as in anything really, but the setting is in a warehouse with abstract objects in the background which doesn't really seems to fit in the video, but it does somehow. Hands down only you and two other reactors are intelligent in your approach with reviewing a video. Cheers brotha and keep on funkin'!

Thanks so much! I appreciate the kind words! The video is a bit subjective, but the stripped down atmosphere of it nicely compliments the tone of the song. Seems he wanted this be reflect his musicianship more-so than the actual lyrical content. I think he could have played up to the lyrics visually, but what he did was a nice touch too.

I read one commenter on another reaction video that the song is about his message to an ex-lover who a gay man but who was also in the closet and gave into societal pressure to stay in the closet and therefore broke up with George. You described the feeling and atmosphere of the song right. Beautiful vocal performance and musical production.

PLEASE react to George Michael's cover of They Won't Go When I Go by Stevie Wonder. I promise you it is surreal in its complexity and stunning vocals. He's his own choir in the background. I know that your on point eloquent break down will do it the justice it deserves.

You gotta do "Killer"/ Pappa was a Rolling Stone!" By G.M.... Epic!!! Next do George and Elton John "Live" singing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"! At Wembley. Iconic performance!!! You're really good with your analysis. You sound so smart! I love listening to educated young Black men. And I mean this in the Most positive manner. Awesome! 👍🏽💯 7 😢

I don't mean to be critical but I must ask this question. Are you reading your reaction? Also, while your listening there's no expression on your face, how when you pick up so much on your critique when apparently feeling nothing? It's just what I'm picking up! I don't mean to offend you with my questions, I just find It hard to believe that people feel nothing when listening to George. His musicality, & the pure honest emotion that comes from his lips touches deeply many, many hearts profoundly! That's my take anyway. LOL, for trying!🤔 🎤😎🎶+💖

Not reading my reaction but I do sometimes glance at the wikipedia article while commentating. When I listen to a song I try to listen intently so I don't miss any details I might wanna point out later. So that's probably why there's limited expression.
