What's really stupid is that Lee is totally fine with him and his damn girlfriend going to separate colleges but throws a hissy fit about his best friend going to a different college than him.

And then even though she showed 0 interest in games other then DDR in the other movies, she suddenly is a gamer who gets accepted into game design without a portfolio and a GODAWFUL pitch?! I love how they COMPLETELY forgot the only true passion she had: Dancing. the plto for the other 2 movies revolved around the dancing thing, the dance club in the first one, and the dancing competition in the second one. SHE SHOULD BE A DANCER. I'm pretty sure they made her go to "game desing" college just so she would be more "not like other girls" ans shit like that. but like, is 2021, women are in the gaming industry for so long now, is not inovative nor necessary to have your main character being a "gamer" just so she can be special
As for the waitlist thing, you accept your spot on the waitlist and accept the spot to the school you got into. So she should’ve said yes to UC Berkeley and paid the deposit while she waited for Harvard to respond.
My god Lee is such a toxic friend. Their whole friendship is so toxic. It starts falling apart over such petty things like not hanging out together for once. Why do you constantly need to be with each other to keep your friendship intact?
the only other movie i’ve personally experienced this with is the cat in the hat from like 2003. not that it’s bad bc i love that movie but it is a total fever dream and i felt like it has been 2 hours when watching it and i just reach the 20 minute mark. but with the kissing booth it’s just non tolerable
Yooo this, I decided to watch it for the heck of it and when I say this believe me. I thought I was halfway through the movie and then I checked the time stamp I was only 23 minutes in. I came here 😂
So how was that resolved? I'm not watching this movie, but I'm hoping the dad is still disappointed in her and didn't attend her graduation from USC, and they're still estranged because Elle finds out her dad's gf did kill her mother, but her dad won't believe it...

She led them around, acted selfishly and made assumptions with everyone and then she plays the victim when the consequences smack her hard in the face. Personally I find the bestfriend, Lee, so extremely unlikeable. He complains about everything and is so whiny. When someone is in a relationship they want to spend time with their partner. He's toxic, immature and whenever he doesn't get his way he'll gaslight the situation and say that Elle is the one to blame. And although Elle has the most dullest, one-dimensional personality ever, I still find lee so annoying. Like bruh that's your brother's girlfriend not yours, stop being clingy.

For me the worst thing about these movies (and you know there are many options here), is the fact that the brothers seems to have NO relationship between them whatsoever. Like how did everything become about her? It's like the writers straight up forgot they were family while writing this. At least in The Vampire Diaries, Stefan and Damon had their relationship, which made it less about Elena, which is why it worked.
I feel like more of the memories between Ella and the bff would have more memories with the brother. Like both of my closes friends had a younger brother that I remember being there the whole time, and the older sister.
Completely skipped watching the third movie entirely and just decided to watch it with Dylan's commentary, which I think is the best decision I've made in 2021 so far

@@Kasiarzynka Not confusing just boring and so many pointless characters that did nothing. Like the hot chick. Why was she there? Nothing happened with her. Her invisible parents got divorced. So what. And Lees girlfriend, they could have been broken up the whole movie. Molly Ringwalds character wanted to sell beach house, then decided not to sell. The main girl decided to go to the same school her boyfriend went and then talked to Molly Ringwalds character and decided to do her own thing. And Marco just tried to get laid and failed. And the stepmom just pissed main girl off because she was acting like she had replaced her mom and she was upset about the monopoly piece because that was the piece her dead mother always used. That was the one of the two conflicts in the movie that was good and real. Also other good point was that the main girl was the people pleaser and that those dont get praised but taken advantage of and you really have to think of yourself and fight for yourself to get what you want. The end.
Marco and Chloe backs must be hurting from carrying this whole damn series like they’re better than the main characters in every aspect of these movies
Idk why but I felt after this movie Marco is soo needy....Like liking a taken girl is one thing which is fine cause that happens but chasing her and not getting a hint and trying to break her and her bf up is another thing...Like he was simping way too hard which was not attractive

this movie was the embodiment of teenage hormones where elle thinks the world revolves arounds her and throws a tantrum every time it does not. literally hated it and did not find an appreciation for elle at the end of the movie
To be fair, Lee’s like that too. Every conflict in the movie is basically caused by him throwing a tantrum over Elle not catering to his feelings, her own be damned. Elle still sucks tho. They deserve each other.
Option 1: Dylan pre-watched the movie to make it seem like he guessed everything correctly. Option 2: Dylan is good at seeing where plots are going and correctly guessed everything. Option 3: the movie is so pathetically cliche that there's no point watching it because we ALL know what's going to happen. I'm going with 2&3
Plot of movies are getting really predictable, there's nothing new anymore. Once, my sister was telling about a movie she watched that she really liked and I guessed the ending of the movie without even watching it.
Sad he didn’t comment on the last internal monologue Elle did. That was the nail in the coffin for me, “and it was all bc of a kissing booth” like I literally have no words for my internal demise that happened after that writing.
I wanna c Dylan’s version of this movie… going broke, murdering mothers to take their place, go kart injuries, kidnapped brother, blood, rabbit foraging, savage mother, scheming, etc.
I thought the “I’m putting my foot down, you’re not selling the house” bit was a joke and that the parents would address it but they don’t. That just makes the characters super spoiled and very unlikeable.
I watched it through x1.5 the whole way and still felt it was soo long and wondered how Dylan would make it fun. But he managed to do it with the imaginary murder plot line as always

that's exactly what i was thinking. i literally said "did she not tell her boyfriend about the massive flash mob she's planning?" like, i tell my boyfriend about a butterfly i saw on a walk, i wouldn't be able to shut up about it if i was planning a fucking FLASH MOB.
Elle and her boyfriend weren't super close. Like communication was one of their biggest issues! He did stuff without telling her especially on KB2, and then she was just "too busy" to tell him anything. And yeah they both agreed to Chloe and Marco stuff before talking to each other. Not that they need permission or whatever but it'd be nice to let your partner know BEFORE you decide to reintroduce a sort of gray area opposite sex person back in significant ways (especially Chloe living with them). Like even if they weren't dating and they were roommates, you consult roommates before someone crashes with them.
The fact that 3/4 of them were doing this flash mob and Noah had zero clue about it when both his brother and girlfriend were planning it is truly amazing to me. Also I hate how Noah was like "Oh I planned this romantic surprise to make it up to you and you want to blow me off because you already made plans? WTF; how could you? Blow off my brother (your bestie) and ditch the plans you already had for me."

The "romantic dinner" was also such a weird and random appearance after a pretty significant dbag moment. Their while relationship was let's just fight, one person takes all the blame, okay let's kiss and make up without any sort of healthy discussion on what growth needs to happen, and THEN their surprised when repeated behaviors and relationship issues that were NEVER addressed end in them breaking up severely. Yeah...so many writing issues.
@@nix_ It would've been about a 30 minute movie trilogy if the characters actually communicated with each other so it makes sense to drag on the same issues for three movies (Noah's irrational temper and jealousy and toxicity, the brother's [forgot his name] clinginess, selfishness, and abusive immaturity, poor communication from EVERYONE, Elle just being clueless, without a backbone, and just blatantly ignorant of the color red (flags) in her vision at every turn, with the brothers.

I was thinking the same thing. I know Elle can have her moments but Lee was a bit selfish. When Elle would priortize herself or her bf, he would make her feel bad for not choosing him even when her reasons would reasonable at times. She was trying to balance her time with Noah and Lee.
I honestly thought this movie would end with Lee confessing that he’s been in love with Elle the whole series. His behavior doesn’t really make sense for someone who’s just friends imo

i have never watched any of these movies, only reactions to it, so when i found out these beach house wasn't even mentioned or shown in the previous movies (cause tbh all the houses look like beach houses, so i didn't know it wasn't in them), i was so annoyed. Like, this isn't Hannah Montana season 3 finale -- we don't care about this stupid house that was never mentioned.
I’m not team anybody. I’m team everyone gets therapy. People say Marco is too good for Elle, but he’s bad too; he actively pursued someone he knew was in a relationship and acted so needy.
She strung him along for a while, kissed him while in a relationship with someone else- he caught feelings. It's not right but I understand why he can't get over her.
Elle kept running to Marco for help, to whine about her crappy boyfriend, and I can not stress this enough, *She* Kissed Him! As @tiana1420 said, she strung him along and he developed feelings for her. Plus, he can see how toxic her boyfriend is and knows it's not healthy for her to be in a relationship with Noah. Elle likes playing with fire, but Marco feels compelled to keep her from getting burned. And the irony of this is, if Elle wasn't an idiot, she'd see clearly Marco would be a much better boyfriend.
The way he keeps stopping to check the time and only realizing that 30-45 mins have passed in film time is SUCH A MOOD with this movie, I LITERALLY stopped thinking I got like an hour in and I was only 20 mins in😐
