I really admire you guys. Taking second jobs, working in bad weather, just doing what it takes to keep your dreams alive. Great work and video. We'll done. The build is getting to a exciting phase.
Yeah, I've lived in other places that rain much more than So. Cal, I can deal with rain if I must. Not saying I wouldn't like it to rain a little less though :)
We couldn't have taken this on without the Admiral. So we agree and I thank her all the time. I'm sure she will appreciates yours as well when she reads it.
Congrats! May your hulls never be inverted again! I'm curious how much finishing fairing... the interior of the hulls will require; and if in hindsight you would have had someone underneath wiping off the squeeze-out. Impressive planning and progress!
Basic fairing under the glass, but no finish fairing. We'll apply bilge paint. In hindsight, we would wipe more squeeze out while applying, which we did on the starboard canoe. That's my plan, never seeing my hulls upside down again. 😬
Hi SV Lynxers, first time it starts looking like an actual cat, you can pride yourselves on this achievement 😊. I'm wondering though how you plan to get the 2 hulls perfectly positioned relatively to each other to get the bulkheads assembly square.
Very carefully 😂. But seriously, we use a lazer level across the flat sterns and the waterlines. Then level across the tops. Finally, we place the crossing bulkheads into the boat and align the canoes as needed. We'll show all this in a coming video.
I live in France and have a small boat. The more I watch your channel the more I enjoy. i take my hat off to you and your hard work but in the end it will be worth every second.. If I live nearby I would help sadly the only help I can give is to watch and comment. I would be a patreon but I have my own boat to finish and I am retired. You are all amazing keep up the great work.
@@SailingSVLynx You will be made welcome I live 30 mins easy drive from La Rochelle and Minimes Marina being the largest marina in Europe. Keep up the great work.
We didn't square them yet because we will be getting inside and don't want to throw them off any. We'll square them just before we mount the bulkheads which will lock them in place.
There is an earlier video where you can see the Admiral under the first canoe using an oscillating tool to take off squeeze out, but the second canoe was built a little differently and we had significantly thicker and more squeeze out, so that tool would have taken a long time. :)
Well Bravo Zulu to all concerned and involved with this challenging evolution. It was a neat trick to arrange the rain so you could turn the canoe in the lubricated slings.😉😀👍⛵️
