This video nailed it right on with the color theory. Being a cosmologists has definitely helped me when using the RCMA palette. And that's why so many people don't get their foundation right because they don't understand undertones and shades. Knowing the law of color has helped me to educate my clients on their true color match.
I am always rewatching all your videos because they are so informative. I cannot stress enough how much you have helped me. Thank you and God bless you!
This was the perfect video I was literally just thinking of this earlier and was gonna search your page for it. Thank you! :) been binge watching your vids.
I love your videos.. such a refreshing change up. Wonderfully (professionally) informative. I've actually been including the rcma vk11 and vk10 in my kit. Did you know they offer shade adjusters as well? They work well in conjunction with the foundations (for those more olive or deep tones that the original palettes don't quite cover).
i have been watching your videos for probably 6 hours straight now while i dog sit. Had a wedding this morning and left feeling a little down about myself about how i did because i am a hot mess on time, organization, and foundation, and you my love are the queen and have made me feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. i have a whole new confidence now and you are everything! Your face is beautiful and have such a poise, together talking voice!
WOW! I wanna be a make up artist and your channel is so far the best channel that I found. I started to follow you a long time ago but at that time I didn’t want to be a MUA yet, I just watched for entertainment and tutorials and now that I wanna be a MUA I realize that you channel is extremely richer and amazing and with so much information that I would never imagine. I’m glad I’m rediscovering you!
This video is so helpful! Foundations and concealers are the last thing I need to add to my kit because I’ve been so nervous about what to get. I feel like foundations are the hardest part of a makeup application.
Thank you this really helps. These are all the same products I have in my kit with the exception of the Face Atelier. It was good to hear a real pro explain each one.
Thank you!! Ok three questions... Best application method for loose powders- puff, sponge, brush? How many studiofix powder foundation shades do you keep in your kit? Opinion on the Kryolan Makeup Blend mixing medium ? Love your videos!
Hey! 1. Brush and sometimes a Beauty Blender on the TZone for my more oily skin types. 2. I listed them all in the description box for you! 3. I have never used it unfortunately!
I discovered you today because I wanted to find a video for the RCMA foundation AND I am in love with your videos I keep on watching your videos and I learnt so so much for one day and I want more but the day have only twenty four hours xaxaxa you are truly incredible I am so happy I found you
I am dying for your vdos.... Are you gonna take online make classes. I am not a MUA but i love makeup and a beginner. Your vdos helped me a ton to understand what kind products i must invest on.... You are beautiful....❣️❣️❣️❣️
Hi Angie! Can you please make a video on how a schedule looks for a makeup artist? How often do you work? How often do artist work in general? How does the range of salary look like as a makeup artist working in freelance, in a union or angecy? Please help out. Thanks so much for your channel
Hi! I won't speak on rates or salary specifically - there are too many variables that determine how much you can earn as a makeup artist. I can definitely talk about my own experiences/scheduling however again there are many many factors that determine how often an artist works.
Angie thank you so much!! this video is just perfect. All of the products that I have bought based on your recommendations have been amazing. Glad to say I am all set thanks to you!! Just a few more items that I have yet to buy 😊 can’t wait for the next video!!
Love ,love, love your videos . Really thank you Ps I transferred my rcma no colour powder in one of my empty container of a makeup forever powder and now that it is easier to use it's even better Xxx
@@shankares I start with the cream product as the base and mash it up a bit on my palette. Then I slowly add the liquid in very small portions, mixing each bit completely before adding more. Hope this helps ❤️
This was so helpful. I️ wanted to try the RCMA foundation palette now I️ will. I️ want to educate myself on the color wheel. This is so true when mixing up foundation . I️ use Bobbi Brown BBU palette
That palette is amazing! Once you nail down the colour wheel your makeup application is going to be so much easier and faster! (That's what I noticed for me anyways!)
Hey 😁 can you please review MUD foundation and corrector palettes? It would be super helpful 💕 thank you so much for designing this space and helping us new muas
Hi Dayana! Glad you are finding the videos helpful. As far as specific product reviews go - unless it's something already in my kit, until someone starts sending me free product I won't be doing any videos that like for now. Fingers crossed this will change in the future.
Angie Di Battista omg thank you so much for responding to my comment, I just started watching your videos like two days ago and I've learned so so so so much, you can't imagine how grateful I'm with you, you've also change the way I see this industry, much more professional. You inspire me so much and I assure you that you are going to grow so much in your career just because you are sharing your knowledge, you really inspire trust 💕 haha I promise you there are only a few videos left that I haven't seen from you. Again thank you so much for taking the time 👑 from a makeup student's heart 💘 also I wanted to mention that if you could reach this beginner MUA in Guatemala, I assure you are going to grow in recognition all over the world 💕
I keep having the voice in my head tell me I need to get the RCMA palette for my kit. I'm a new make up artist to the industry, and I've seen so many different reviews about it. I understand that it is different to other foundations. It looks so appealing to have a one palette for all clients and all skin types, but my worry is because it's a wax/cream base it wouldn't be good for oily skin? It's so expensive setting up the kit, so starting off with a one palette fits all would be fantastic
There is no one palette fits all unfortunately. Even with the RCMA you would need to supplement the VK 11 with some other shades and textures. I use this on all skin types.
Thanks Angie- I know in the future I’d definitely have to get more shades, but is it a good palette to begin with? Good for bridal and longevity on oily clients?
Even to begin with you need to have a full range of shades and textures in your kit. The one RCMA palette is not enough. I use this foundation for bridal and on oily skin - with the appropriate skin prep I have no problems.
Hello Angie. Amazing video, as always. My only question is: how do you decide which of the foundations are you gonna use, when you're faced with a client? Which are the criteria you use? Thank you for all the sharing, you are an inspiration! 😘😍
I don't have a simple answer for that one. There are so many factors that I consider - skin tone, skin type, what I am shooting, where I am shooting, what the finish has to be on camera, what lighting I am shooting with, how long the day is going to be, what I feel like, how much time I have.. there is no simple formula that I can give you unfortunately.
It's one of those things that experience teaches you and it is hard for me to summarize simply in a video - I tried to give some explanation as to what I use and why in the Q&A videos I have created for each foundation.
Angie I love watching your videos videos, and it helped so much building my kit. I have a question, I live in a very hot country and I’ve been thinking about purchasing the RCMA fundarion pallet, would you recommend the cinema secrets you mention in this video for bridal makeup instead? Please help
It`s me again!! What will be the skin prep that you will recommend with this foundation? Especially with the very hot and humid weather. Everybody here in my country worries about the SWEAT, so they don't what to schedule their appoiment cause they are afraid it will fade or melt. S.O.S
Hi Angie, thank you for all of the great information. I am researching different concealers for my kit, and I came across the Dermacolor camouflage palette (I haven't had a chance to play with it) Is this a product that you have used? If so, could you compare it to the MAC concealers that you mention in this video? Many thanks.
They are very different textures - Dermacolor is dryer so the coverage is a bit more immediate and fuller. MAC would be more user friendly initially - both are great options.
Hi angie! this was really but reaaally helpful for me, as always! One question: i've noticed that you don't talk about Kryolan, and it's such a good brand, very similar to the ones you comment on your vids, so i wonder if you don't personally like it or you just haven't talked about it YET
awesome video angie! I look forward to every video! Question for you: 1. Where do you purchase your pro cosmetics? I'm in Vancouver, BC and usually see the best deals on Nigels, CRC, Frends, and Naimies, however they are all in USD. Do you order in Canada somewhere? Thank you in advance!
Hey! I order from Face Atelier and purchase a lot of stuff from MAC, Sephora and a site called Backstage Cosmetics backstage-cosmetics-inc.myshopify.com
This video was so helpful! Thank you so much for sharing Angie.. Question: how do you deal with Olive undertone? A lot of my foundations have yellow/golden undertone but lack olive/green in them.. I have the face atelier shade adjustors but cannot find a shade for adding olive to the skintone.. any suggestions?
Hello Angie! Thanks for the excellent videos you upload every time. I have a technical question. I have the RCMA KJB foundation palette which contains the adjusters (red, yellow, blue). I am planning to purchase the face atelier foundation as I have tried a sample and I loved it! not the question is: Can I mix the RCMA adjusters to customize the Face Atelier foundation or do I have to purchase the Face atelier adjusters? Thanks a lot!
Blaze adds more yellow so it is great for olive and richer, deeper skin tones and Heat is great to add more warmth to those that have deeper skin with a more red undertone! All you need is a tiny amount mixed in your foundation to adjust the tone!
Unfortunatelly Mac studio conceal and correct is not produced anymore in light, med and dark.U can only buy the deep dark. After I noticed it's sold out everywhere I called Mac cosmetics and they told me they are not produced anymore.Any other alternatives ? Thank you so much!
Thank you for the great information! Quick question, do you use the same setting power for deeper skin tones?? What happend with your black opal foundation, aren't you using it any more? Which one do you use for deeper skin now?
I do! Laura Mercier also has an amazing one for deeper skin tones that I use occasionally. I replaced my Black Opal foundation with Cinema Secrets/Face Atelier - I'm finding it harder and harder to get here in Toronto.
Hi Angie, firstly, thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful! (just want to say that your channel is the only channel I subscribe to on youtube. I am just wondering if it is possible to mix Ben Nye HD Matte foundation palette with the face atelier foundation to 'adjust' the colour that way? I have face atelier #5 and #6 and the zero minus.. and the ben nye foundation palette, and before I go and buy more of the colours of the atelier range, I thought I would ask. :)
I live in Arizona where it’s super hot pretty much year round. I wanna add one of the 3 foundations you mentioned in the video to my starting kit, which one would you recommend? I eventually hope to have all 3 brands like you!
That's a tough one because I don't know what type of work you do - from an ingredient perspective maybe Cinema Secrets because it is sweat proof and they offer a large range of shades.
I know a lot of professionals use it and love it! They're pretty affordable so I'd say just buy one for yourself and see if you like it enough to use it in your kit.
Hi Yolanda! I cannot access it easily here so it is something I haven't really worked with. Sooo many artists use it so there must be something decent to it!!!
I have used this is television work. It is quite a bit more dewy than the RCMA. I am not sure it would be long wearing enough for something like a wedding. but it is beautiful
Would like an option on the LA girl concealers I find them to be popular among People starting kits They are also mentioned.... Not sure about that product
Angie Di Battista. Urban Planet in Vaunghmills have a large selection of LA girl cosmetic. Some beauty supply have them too and you can buy them from Walmar.ca
Hi Angie, I am in the process of building my kit and I am looking for a pressed powder. If you would have to choose 1 of the pressed powders mentioned which one would you pick? Thanks
Not the foundation palette (although the foundations are amazing) it's too hefty a price and I love what I work with. If you can afford it, it's a fantastic addition to your kit!
The only change is that I am going to be using the Temptu airbrushing system to replace a lot of my cream foundations but all of these brands will still be in my kit (just fewer shades). I will do an updated video once I have worked out what will be in my kit moving forward.
I love the RCMA powder and have it in my kit but for some reason I feel like it creates a white cast on certain darker/tanner skin tones. Anyone else? I switched to the Ben Nye colored powders to avoid this..
Hey Angie! I have a question. I stopped using the laura mercier powder for my mature clients, because I felt like the under eye skin looked worst and like it shrunk and wrinkles were more visible. Is there anyway to not make them more visible , I struggle with the under eyes, smile lines and eye lines from people who laugh a lot and have those wrinkles. I feel like sometimes, with the makeup it's more noticeable. How can I minimize that ? thank you !!
I know this has nothing to do with this video, but how come you don't use Viseart eyeshadow palettes. I know they're a staple on a lot of makeup artist's kits. I'd like to hear your input on why you don't use them. Thank you.
They are fantastic eyeshadows but super expensive. I'm sure i'll get around to using them again! There are so many great products out there I go through phases of what i'm using.
With mature clients there will always be some creasing, it's just a fact of life. Make sure the eye contour area is well hydrated with an appropriate eye cream before you start. When foundation really settles into fine lines on the face there could be a number of issues so you may want to try less foundation, a different foundation or a different application method. Primer can also cause foundation to move and fall into fine lines. Play around with your application and hopefully you can minimize these issues!
Maybe fewer shades of each? I really believe you need a range of not only shades but textures and finishes of foundation in your kit to be able to do the job.
@@AngieDiB Thank you for replying! I feel like foundation for some reason is the one thing I can't get quite right in my kit as far as texture and coverage! I have MAC Face & Body as well as a Graftobian Cream Foundation palette. Your clients always look stunning. As I work through the foundations I have now, I will definitely have to begin to incorporate some of these into my kit and give them a shot!
