"break me off a piece of that applesauce" "break me off a piece of that football cream" "break me off a piece of that chrysler car" "break me off a piece of that hair for men" "break me off a piece of that fancy feast"
The fact that ppl know this from the office and not the commercials is crazy, how did ya’ll grow up in the 2000’s without hearing any of the KitKat bar commercials
Imagine Ross saying “do you ever need a break?” And Rachel happens to be walking by and says “really? You’re still on this?” And it ends with “WE WERE ON A BREAK!”
These commercials are the real deal, so much energy. Listen to the 2021 Kit Kat commercial--puts you to sleep. Many companies should play their old commercials now and forgot the drab ones they air now.
Oh wow! :O I grew up in the 90s so I heard the "give me a break" part a lot, but never seen this 80s one! Didn't know there was more to the song! I love it!
I miss the foil wrapper. It was always fun to take the paper off and then rub the foil down on the Kit Kat and make it look like it was a bar of silver.
Holy shit I've just come across this "mendela effect" thing guys and it blown my mind.. I was born early 80s, and I remember kit-kat!! Now I csnt find any pictures of that.. Is this collective false memory??
I remember a dash too! but all of my friends are saying no it never had one,I tried googling any old wrappers, and I can't find any,so I came here but dammit not there...wth is going on lol O.o
RIP late 80’s/early 90’s KitKat bar. Idk wth they’ve done to the formula but today (and for many years actually) they just taste like chocolate gum and the texture completely overpowers the wafer. Same with Doritos.. I remember they use to have a powder that created a film on your fingers that basically only came off by scraping them against your teeth, lol. And the edges were so sharp you’d cut the corners of your mouth and gums. None of that safe kid, rounded-edge sadness they sell today. Don’t even get me started on Reeses PB cups ☹️ Dang I miss the old days 🤔
I remember working at Caplan's Sportsworld in Portland, OR with the Larry Bird looking dude in the basketball sequence...he came to work and told us about the commercial he just did. Said they paid him $50 and a box of Kit Kats! I was 18 years old and just out of High School in Iowa. My buddy and I rode a Greyhound cross country from Tama, Iowa to Portland. Man, to be that age again with an excitement for what might be around the next corner in life!
“Give me a break, give me a break, oh dear god please give me a brake!!! Please nestle please, please nestle please, I’ve been your slave since I was eight!!”
So there’s a sign on the road. It’s one of those signs that can say different things like “Caution: New Traffic Pattern” or “Road Work Ahead…Slow Down.” Well anyway this one was talking about the construction workers. It says something like “Give ‘em a Break/Brake.” So of course, I immediately thought of this jingle.
