Here is my take on the Orange Box Tiger from Cyber-Hobby 9142. Some really good stuff for the price it was meant to be at, but now that it's a bit rarer I thought people should know it has some hang ups.
I totally agree with you on this one, I own it as well, the hull and the road wheels are a deal killer for me, and with DS tracks !I would not pay more than $35.00 at the most for it. The kit has its uses but for me they will be limited. :)
as always cool review, wish dragon would watch your reviews, and fix there F ups, cause it would save us a lot of unnecessary work, again cool review Adam.
+Clayton McClain thanks for a very nice compliment. I'm doing a few reviews for Armorama, I'm hoping they'll see those so I plan to be especially specific.
Great review mate! I've been looking at this one for my Otto Augst Kursk Tiger, 1313....tempted to get the RMF 5003 instead....suggestions? All the best, Jan
Nice review! I've recently received my order of both Dragon : 6454, and 6302, I've completed the build of the StuH, and it's great, however, the problem arrived when I opened the #6302 King Tiger box, as it only included two - two half gun barrels, Old tamiya style. The back of the box advertises '' Slide-molded muzzle brake, aswell as a Injection molded gun barrel,'' does this suggest there should be a one-piece gun barrel in the kit, aswell as a muzzle brake with hasn't been molded in halfs onto the barrel already?
+James V. D. Bosch So this has been a huge issue with Dragon. They're slowly taking goodies out of the boxes and then eventually changing the box. So if yours says it should have something it doesn't you can contact Dragoncare and send them pictures and they'll sort you out. Although from what I hear you need to be in the US for that to be an easy experience.
+Nivek White I was already aware of Dragon taking stuff out, I kinda knew what I was getting into when I bought it from ebay and the price tag being only 43 dollars, however, I still expect Dragon to offer what is advertized on the back of the box, aswell as giving me something better than a tamiya 1990's style two-half gun barrel in what is supposed to be a premium brand.
Did early production Tiger 1s serve in Normandy as part of the defense or afterwards? I was wondering if it was at all accurate to model a tiger with an early cupola on the western front. Most of the early productions I've seen have been for Ostfront.
