A long-term review of the HEMA Pluderhose Pants by Superior Fencing. These were a free sample to Michael Thomas to thoroughly test. They're sized large, in Black and Oxblood Red, and cost $80 from the Superior Fencing website. Apologies for the Freudian slip, it's pluderhose, not plunderhose. I blame the Landsknechtes and their years of plundering!

Made of 800N certified resistant fabric.
Internal lining of micormesh moisture wicking fabric.
Extra removable protectors inside to increase protection level.
Loose cut allows free movement.
Available in standard sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL.
Also available in customize sizes and colours without any extra charges.
You can customize Pants in any way you want without any extra charges.
Aprox. weight 1.5 Kg.
Pockets added.
Machine washable.

I asked for suspenders on mine. That turned the drawstring into a zipper with velcrow covering. Then a band around the waist along with the suspenders. Just so everyone knows, options are there, don't be afraid to ask!

I got a pair and the very first thing I did was take all of the padding out lol. I also have custom made SF 16th c jacket, and I had to cut sleeves and do a ton of alterations myself. SF did offer me a second jacket for free, just pay shipping which is really nice from them.

Hey great video, may i ask a question? On the pictures of supfen the trousers look kinda low waisted, but on your video they looked kinda midto high waisted. Would you consider them high waited or rather lowwaisted, understanding high waist as near or above the nable?

I recently bought a pair of these. They are great. One improvement would be a higher waist (as you hinted at). With my doublet style jacket there is not much overlap and my waist can be exposed if I stretch out. I'll have to try some braces to see if this helps.

Any issues with being hit on the buckles for the added suspenders? Hurt like hell being hit on a button of my officer jacket, thinking adding the metal type suspenders might have the same issue. Otherwise, I'm sold on these, and there are other solutions for suspenders.

Yes, Spes knee caps go over the fabric or you can use full length knee and shin too

Yeah buddy, 800N, but they cut it with ordinary scissors and sew it with normal needles... So, you might be swordproof, but your weakness is someone running with scissors and throwing needles like Gambit from X-Men...
