It looks great, has me pumped for the individual kit to be released. Now we just need rules that don't create the feelbadman moment when not taking sponsons on our Guard Russes on the table! Also curious how much conversion work would be needed to get the track guards to work this model.
For those looking to replicate the discarded shell casings look, but don't have (or want to use) styrene rods (or don't want to cut them out), you could use tiny cylindrical beads. I've bought loads of them before, in very "28mm shell casing" size and shape, from my local dollar store's hobby section. Various other stores, like generalist hobby shops or even Walmart also carry similar beads. (I even have a variety in my bead collection that is the bronze-like in appearance, that I use in terrain projects, as I don't need to paint them).
I'm not normally one for vehicles, but its always fun to watch you sculpt. I do miss the painting segments from the past though- was great to see your process.
it annoys me that 2:17 these vital life support add-ons to scour a deangerous envirment are JUST F-ING TANKS not even exposed to the outside but LITTERALLY STRAPPED TO THE HULL OF THE VESSEL. AHHHHHHHHH Side Note: Loved the conversion!!
@PeteTheWargamer Honestly one of the coolest series you could do is how to kitbash a krieg army. GW will not give us them even though there far better than cadians (imo) and a series where you show how to make krieg versions of the command squad, death riders, etc would be so cool.
I subscribed to your channel when I started playing bolt action. (They’re mothballed now). This was a nice throwback to those times. I have like 200 leman Russ and chimera tanks primed. Scared to paint them. Would love more tank videos
I'm sure I am not the first one to think about a massive sisters cathedral on treads and would really be interested to see what kind of kit bash you could come up with. Dont have much spare parts myself to kit bash all these cool looking projekts but have been enthusiasticly watching your content instead. Thanks for all the content.
honestly with the turret having 2 guns in such a narrow turret, there would be no room to avoid the breach from crushing you ever time the guns fire but it's krig so they would fkin love it lol.
Pete, how about 40K Death Corps version of the Renault FT, A7V, Saint-Chamond, and T-35 tanks? Or a 40K take on the Heinkel He 162, de Havilland Vampire, Saab 29 Tunnan, and Republic F-84F Thunderstreak fighters?
I don't believe the real Pete made this vid. This is clearly AI generated, as someone forgot to add "dead animal bits" to the AI generative prompt thingy ;) Seriously though, beautiful conversion. Love your work Pete, please keep it up. But like, do more Orks, coz Orks iz best. :)
Great video Pete, as always. I plan to make my own - can you tell me which Guardsman from the Kill Team you used as commander? Thank you from a danish fan.
Just a small question: are you planning on doing more chaos corrupted sisters of battle? After seeing the Khorne and Slaanesh corrupted sisters, I have been really looking forward to a time when you do the Nurgle and Tzeentch Sisters. Love the content as always!
Pete, did you make the mould for the sandbag yourself or did you buy it? If you made it, can you possibly do a short tutorial or explain it in a few sentences, and if you bought it, is it possible to tell me where from? Thank you so much. @Pete The Wargamer
@petethewargamer I have a challenge for you, had an idea to make genestealer cult guard..... but completely stumped on an idea for a genstealer or 4 armed lord solar mini?
I know it's an old model, but the Ephrael Stern model in my opinion looks awful. She looks like she's tripping over her tactical wall, could you do a kitbash video to make it look better
I love this! Such an amazing change to this tank and it adds so much making it Krieg themed! I wonder though, do the old Leman russ sponsons fit this new Leman russ? Or does it not work at all?
I recently lost interest in imperial guard. i saw the heresy era leman russes and didnt like them so assumed i was done. But this? This i like. Customisation and a good paint job it fits right into 40k. Good work
Solar Auxilia already have all the same protections from things that the Kriegers do, they are meant to be able to fight in a vacuum, and modern tanks have seals to protect against external chemical, biological, and radioactive contaminants.
Great conversion. One thing I would have on is the scoop that comes with the tank. I can see it being used by the Krieg for trench digging and for clearing a way for troops to march on.
Only issue is other leman russ models can have two sponsons on the models for no extra points, so the tank will look amazing but be at a disadvantage compared to other leman russ models, unless one plans to kitbash some on.
It's odd but they're often listed as Veteran Guardsmen rather than Krieg: elementgames.co.uk/card-games-board-games-and-more/seasonal/starting-kill-team/kill-team-veteran-guardsman?d=10694
This has been inspiring. I've already made a DKOK Leman Russ with a rather simple kit bash using the base Cadia pilot and attaching a spare Krieger torso. But it seems somewhat empty and bland. This video makes me want to go back to the half painted tank and add some extra details before finishing the paint job.
With a new skaven range refresh on the horizon I hope your thinking about making a return to your 40k skaven army! Also excited for dead animal bits later this year.
Amazing work as always dude! Although the choice of placement for the Heavy Stubber is a bit weird but certainly unique. Love all the handy storrage bits, sandbags and other details you added that really made the model pop off! Hope to see more vehicles or tanks in the near future!
I cannot emphasize just how much certain details such as having tools, backpacks and kit all around the vehicle adds a lot of awesome character and flavour. I was in the army for 6 years operating tanks and you have to keep in mind we’re literally living out of those things only really coming out to sleep in a tent pitched behind it. It would sometimes get to the point that our slang term for a convoy of armoured vehicles was a “Gypsy Caravan”. Due to the large assortments of folded commo nets, backpacks, diesel cans and other equipment strapped around the outside.
I've got a kitbash idea. A very simply idea, but an idea nonetheless. It'd be awesome to see an Astra Militarum helicopter. What I'm thinking is a Sentinel base but with the legs removed and a big ol rotor on top of the area where the guy sits. You'd have to use an armored Sentinel for it to work, but i think it'd be awesome. The lore behind it would just be an Astra Militarum regiment that needed something to help gather intel and perform reconnaissance on the enemy, but since they've been fighting for so long, they don't really have anything, so they just kinda say "screw the Mechanicus" and build a one man helicopter
And here we have yet another great conversion thoe while watching the video a certain ghastly idea come to my mind as unlikely as it is lore wise i would love to see you do the kitbash of nurgle corrupted regiment from Death Korps of Krieg ....
I really like the kitbash, however I was hoping you'd have included the dome filter that goes on top of the engine hatch as that is the main glaring part I see missing on this alpha pattern - even though it is on the Dracosan - so I could copy
