In this video I show how I install upper cabinets. They can get a bit tricky if the walls aren't plumb or straight. You need to keep everything plumb and level otherwise you will have issues with your doors and fillers.

Worked in the shipping/ receiving for a Cabinet company 7 years and they are finally giving me opportunity to train to be an installer. Am kind of getting nervous and intimidated as the day gets closer ha. Could you give me any type of tips, I’d appreciate it a ton! No matter how small! I’m very glad I found your page. Have been watching all your cabinet videos like it’s homework! Thanks a ton for the content man!

Touch up your mistakes right away and don't tell anyone. Make sure everything is level and plumb. Try to make parts removable if they need to be replaced. Tool belts and tape measures clipped on you pocket will ding up doors and appliances so be careful. Cut long trim first, if you cut it too short you can use it somewhere else. Hmm maybe I should make a tips video. I have lots haha. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have anymore questions.

Nice video and good job!! how do those jacks work? In the video I see you have two different ones, I would like to buy a pair but I would like some with a good recommendation,

On the little ones, the handle raises them up quick and twist to fine adjust. The long ones just pull up and lock, twist to fine adjust. Fastcap Little hand: amzn.to/37Sdv1s Task Tools support rod: amzn.to/3L3RriC

Nice video, great work! By the way, customers usually don't like to see screws on European cabinets, so I started using screw covers, and they love it. Don't you like using them?

How bad of a gap was the third cabinet from the wall.... me personally I would of started in the corner

Why did you do base cabinets first? The other pro install videos say to do base last so you have room under the walls because the bases are not in the way? What do ya think?

I'm usually in a rush to get the counter templated and get the solid tops installed as soon as possible. I don't need the upper/wall cabinets done for that. It's nice to have the base cabinets in and use my jacks to put up the wall cabs. You get a nice work surface. Sometimes there isn't much storage on site, so get the bases in place and out of the way. You can adjust heights as you go to make sure appliances fit. But that's what works for me, many ways to skin a cat.

Just had a recent prob the other day, I install melamine cabinets and they are t usually pre built. So I was installing these uppers section and the very first box wax flush with the wall the second section right where the sharing panel was had a hump so I had to shim it or else my shelve wouldn’t close with the rayfix, had to shim my way to the end of cabinet so my panels could close the rayfix with the shelves and for the panels to be straight. The cabinet came out amazing especially the doors, didn’t have to level them much. Just have to cover that 1/4 1/2 inch gap. Any tips or tricks ? On how to not have a gap ? I know you can’t just rebuild the wall but man that foot hump on the wall on my panel really threw off my cabinet by 1/2 😢

Cover the gap with some trim is the easiest. If you have the room, put an end panel on that is 1/2 " deeper than the cabinet.

Did you break the shims clean at the bottom of the upper cabinets?

Scored them with a knife and snapped them off.

Think you drilled the wrong side of the cabinet. Counter sink bits are for burying the screw.

I just drilled a pilot hole, not a counter sink hole. I use washer head screws that done get counter sunk.
