In this short video, I review the elements of building a Lazy Susan, and how it fits into our kitchen project. One of the reasons I love customer work, is that you can make things fit they way you want them to!

I appreciate the considerable amount of time you expend making these videos. Thanks for all the hard work. You explained why you didn't create a spice rack in the small space next to the dishwasher. For anyone else who may watch this video, another suggestion is to move the dishwasher over to the right and let the extra space fall between the stove and dishwasher. A thin pull out can then be created in this space with the spice rack in the top portion and sheet pans in the bottom. It's really convenient to have the spices and sheet pans next to the stove. You would need to check the installation instructions for the oven to make you that you have provided the proper clearance between the oven and spice rack.

Most impressive! You have managed to create videos that are just right for someone experienced with using using certain tools while providing the right information to not only build cabinets but understand why certain techniques are critical. This has helped me to stop taking shortcuts which ultimately has led me to final work that Im not very proud of. Although you apologize for talking so much, I have found that when I patiently and carefully pay attention, my end work is something Im proud of. Thank you for your time spent explaining the right details to improve my work.

Pat takes time to explain the details; I am an experienced master carpenter, and appreciate the patience Pat seems to have in his discussion of how to build the ideal Lazy Susan cabinet; these cabinets are tricky to build no matter how much experience you have in your carpentry arsenal. Thanks so much

A little surprised you didn't 45 the back corner to not have issues if the drywall taping won't let the cabinet fall all the way into the corner, hopefully you surveyed and have an above average corner that it's going into, but thought I'd mention this as some who want to build one of these will have to deal with such a corner...

lazy suzans do not usually go all the way back to the wall, hence no need to alter with the back corner. Notice that the depth of the cabinet where they match up to the face of other cabinets is only 23-1/2, not 24". And this is a larger lazy susan. Many of them have smaller sized shelves, and so the cabinet is even shallower than this one.

I should add that often the back corner is built on a 45 if the front of the cabnet is also 45, as when a sink is located in the corner, on the 45.

Hi Pat, Thank you for this well instructed video as well. I'm looking for information to help me with a 90 degree upper cabinet design. My concern being that I won't have a lazy susan middle post is, will the face frames be enough support for the whole cabinet in the front corner notch? I would think so but I wanted to run it by you. I feel silly for asking but I have to :)

Whippetfest you are going to secure the faceframe to the cabinet with pocket screws on all sides, so it should be more than sufficient assuming it's not 8' long :). The post isn't really for support, although i guess it could help. Sometimes corner cabinets are built with a 45 degree front. If you are building one of those, i can give you a link to check out the picture of how it's done. Way to go keeping at it a little at a time. That's what it takes, and you're doing it!!

Thanks Pat :) It is more and more fun! What I'm building is 90 degrees. I now have my cabinet over the fridge installed next to the roll out pantry. I have all of the sides cut for the rest of the upper cabinets, making me feel like I'm going into manufacturing mode. Gearing up to really pop these out! But in reality I can't go so fast because corner cabinets, sink base all base cabinets are completely new to me. Thank God for Sketchup! It helps me think everything through so much. I would be completely lost without it and you :)

Hey Pat: I'm following your cabinet making process and loving it. I am using your method to make my custom kitchen cabinets. I also am going to be putting a sink in the corner cabinet. Could you send me the link of the pictures of building a corner cabinet using a 45 degree front?
