Another fab video, helps me so much understanding the process of building an extension, one question I would like to ask, would you recommend one building company to takes responsibility of the whole project (i.e. digging the foundations, knocking down the walls, erecting the new walls, plastering, electrics, plumbing and installation of the kitchen) or would you recommend independent contractors to do the work they specialise in (i.e Electrician for Electrics, Plasterer for the plastering etc etc....) Your advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm nervous about taking this project on. Many thanks.
Thank you. We would recommend getting a builder who will manage the build and their subcontractors. There’s quite bit involve in an extension and if you were to manage the whole thing yourself you’ll have a lot of dependencies on other contractor’s availability etc. We didn’t have experience in extensions so we wanted a builder to manage it but maybe next one we might manage it ourselves (maybe). Thanks for the great tips. What are the dimensions of your extension please, not counting the dining area? Is it 4m from the door leading to the hallway to the bifold doors?
