Completely agree! She made me feel like I could afford to have this kitchen too and shared stores that nearly everyone could shop in no matter what your budget is.
the idea of turning a small space into a magnificent and practical home with minimal changes and on budget makes me so excited. Especially considering the home market atm.
I like this video alot. the house and design feel attainable and I like the designer/homeowner and her attitude. I like the grand stuff too but please do more videos like this.
I would love to see more of her work! She really has a way of making budget spending look fabulous! I had an Ikea kitchen when I lived in the Netherlands and I loved it-super functional and it looked great! Please feature more of this designer!
I’ve been binge watching this channel for inspiration and this is literally what I wanted and the fact tht this was done on a budget gives me hope I’ll get my dream kitchen as I embark on looking for a contractor. Thanks!
Nice...very nice. Such smart choices. Really respect her mindfulness towards budget without giving up any of the good looks. Love the stools and her thinking behind them. I work in a factory and every now and then they get rid of stuff, one time it was an old workbench stool, same kind of thing, back still on, I put it in my kitchen and use as a plant stand until I need it as a step ladder. It's funny, people always comment how cool it is.
I love the fact that she decided to use the IKEA cabinets. It turned out so beautifully. I don’t usually like dark cabinets, but I love these!! Her kitchen is still light and bright. Spot on perfection!! I love the floating bathroom sink cabinets.
I love this. Our house has a kitchen the same size. There is a large island which stops the other wall being utilized and I need more storage space. We've been wanting to renovate but didn't know how to fit it all in, with an island as well. This is perfect and so stylish. I never thought to put in skinnier cabinets and neither have the 3 different design studios who I've got quotes from! Thank you.
Lovely all around. My one quibble would be the European-style shower with no door. I've stayed in Paris hotels like that and water gets everywhere - I don't get it.
The key is adding a few higher end finishes mixed with stock items such as ikea. This kitchen in my mind is high end elegance. No one needs to know. It’s absolutely stunning. So well done, and I’d love to have a kitchen and bath like this.
@@melissahouse3488 I’d love for you to post a link of your kitchen. You must have an amazing kitchen. State of the art, high end, and ergonomic. Looking forward to seeing it.
YES!!!!!!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 A design project that I actually feel is attainable to me! Your spaces are lovely!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m going to have to try IKEA for my kitchen design! Those storage pieces are AMAZING!!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍
I knew when I saw waterfall quartz on the island and a quartz backsplash that this couldn't possible be budget friendly. The stone alone cost $8000. That's how much most people spend on an actual budget friendly reno. And they don't put in a tap that costs $1,100.00. Ridiculous. Why don't they just title this video...Big Style, Small Space. It would be more accurate.
Love every inch of your new space. Living in a very small house, I appreciate your clever ideas. The light fixture above the CB2 mirror in your en suite bath...where was it sourced, please. Exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you!
Yeah, I like that a budget was discussed. Such an important topic that people online skirt around. About the kitchen cabinets, I don't understand what she was discussing. Shouldn't the bigger one have glass windows too in order to balance the two kitchen dressers out?
Beautiful home. It's perfect! Everything ties in together so well. I really love what you did with the window trim. Would love to know what you did there
WOW, I’ll be honest, I almost didn’t click on this video. I saw the thumbnail and thought, oh , another posh, rich woman gets her posh kitchen. How WRONG and judgemental I was. I wouldn’t have guessed this was a budget job. It’s absolutely stunning and definitely looks like you’ve spent tens of thousands of pounds. Wow. Xx
I clicked on the link to the article for this reno, looking for the source of the lighting fixture and yep... you were right... she actually spent $40,000 on this kitchen reno so.. not actually that budget friendly and just another posh rich woman. LOL
These are Ikea cabinets? What? Are they wood or plywood? I am currently doing a tiny galley kitchen (an insurance claim) now on a VERY low budget. Honestly, it's hard to see hope this is a "budget kitchen." I have been watching the House & Home site every single day getting ideas for my own project -love this site!!
Wow so many good tricks for common Reno problems 👏 also I can't believe that's ikea cabinetry, it really does look custom. Did she say the shallow cupboards either side of the window are ikea too?
Do you know how well the leather knobs and pulls work in a kitchen environment? I would be concerned about the leather shrinking or peeling from spills and such. Thanks.
Lab stools: "they used to have backs on them until the children broke them off ..." Um, is anyone else wondering how kids actually broke the backs off stools? Did they fall backwards? Are they okay? I'm imagining chaos LOL.
Very nice looks effortless to pick out items and style it. Having had to choose bathroom tiles recently (all online samples) I know its a painful process 😣
Just wondering how well the black stained Ikea cabinet doors (Lerhyttan) stand up to being cleaned, and if they show grease stains more than painted cabinet doors. How well do these wear?
Its an absolutely stunning kitchen. But the cost breakdown on the website shows it totaling 39k. Considering the average kitchen remodel costs around 27k, I wouldn't consider this a budget renovation... People looking for budget friendly kitchens are usually in the 10-15k range.
For that budget, it’s not going to be a gut remodel. You’d have to be able to keep something from your kitchen in order to save money, at least one of the big three: cabinets, counters or appliances. Getting all three plus everything else and labor is going to be difficult.
@@thehungrygoldfish Yeah that’s generally true. My husband and I are doing a full remodel, new cabinets counters, appliances and all and we are able to keep it right around 10k. But we are able to do the majority of the work ourselves.
@ 4:00 - the bathroom makes no sense. Why would you have a huge sink/vanity and an extremely tight, narrow shower (with no door, no less) with a toilet barely **squeezed** into the very small space next to it?
those huge black cabinets re kitchen make it look even smaller -not to mention how impractical the height is - falling off of ladders balancing a tub of crisco is not my idea of fun.
