Great Organizing today. Love watching and listening to you talk and explain everything. I'm not a minimalist either. No one has to be just because they are. Love your new fruit gadgets, they work so well. Also your draws. Give yourself praise for what you do!!! Don't worry worry about negative feedback.Remember it's only Their opinion. Just pass them by if they are negative about your way of doing things that work for you family. Have a great day Michelle! Always looking forward to see your videos. 💖
So happy to see you cutting up the grapes for your children. I have a friend whose 3 yr old little boy died after choking on a grape and he too ate grapes all the time. Seeing him on life support was absolutely heartwrenching. Take the time to cut the grapes!!
I am a minimalist and a professional organizer… Never go food shopping the day you need to… Wait a day or two !! pull things out of the refrigerator to make like a little potluck for your family… Always a hit and you always have plenty to eat
Thanks for sharing, this video was very inspiring. I watched it several times as I cleaned different spaces in my house! I have a suggestion for keeping up pantry and fridge organizing. I only have one shelf in my fridge for leftovers. Whenever I want to save a leftover I have to make room. That's when I decide that I'm going to get rid of something else! Another tip is to keep a food inventory sheet. As I use all of something I cross it off of the have side and then add it to the need side! I keep the list near my pantry & fridge, then I grab it when I go to the grocery store.
Hi the pantry looks great. For my refrigerator I like to use turn tables for bottles & jars. It’s much easier to get to what you need to get out of the refrigerator. You don’t have to remove anything to get to what you need. I like to put my cheeses all together in a zip bag that I date. I do that with lunch meats also. Its easy to just remove the bags to make sandwiches. I like to slice tomatoes put them in a baggie for sandwiches.I have that same pineapple slicer. I put my condiments in squeeze bottles that I label. Again I can squeeze out the mayo or mustard and I don’t have to dirty a spoon. I used bins that I label as much as I can it makes it easy to see what I need & find things easier. I also use shelf liners.
I love the updates! It’s nice to hear what worked for you and what didn’t! And you also gave reasons why it didn’t work for you! Love your videos and all that you teach us! ❤️
Girl, you may have saved my nutritional life with these fruit cutting gadgets! I hate chopping them up! Thanks! …and yes, we have all found cheese moldy in the fridge. No judgment!
Ignore those ppl who complain about what u own! Most ppl will accumulate stuff and it's mostly inevitable. My mom for example hates clutter and is somewhat of what ppl call a "clean freak", but she still has bunch of stuff in drawers cuz it just accumulates over time and she don't have time to clean them every single time. I bet those ppl aren't that better either. A lot of ppl on Internet LOVE "educating" ppl on everything cuz it makes them feel superior in some way. I hope they didn't affect ur day! BTW wonderful video.
My pantry has stayed the way it is for 6 months with an exception for the tiny little shelf which houses our spreads and bread but it's not messy. I love it. It's been great
I think the hardest for me is probably the deep freeze. I have heard of people doing their own shopping just opening the fridge doors and taking a picture or a couple pictures. For me, I just order through instacart. My kids go week on week off to their Dad's, so I basically go through the few meals after they leave and clean up any leftovers and condense down to one fridge. We have two mini fridges side by side to make an under counter fridge, and each time I condense down I switch the fridge that gets shut down. Since everything gets pulled out, the stuff that has gone bad or needs used up gets taken care of at least every couple weeks.
You did such a great job! After I organize a space it stays that way forever. I just learned to keep on top of it. It's much easier to do that then to let it go & then have a huge organization project. I love all your organizing gadgets..
Fridges definitely can be hard to keep organized. For me, I broadly label each shelf and the doors making sure to leave at least one "flex zone" for each respectively. I also don't use specific bins or containers. At most I use the rectangular 2-pack bins from dollar tree to subdivide each produce drawer and a translucent egg container. From there, I just stay on top of items inevitably being misplaced from their designated area from the other family members of the house. I also am a huge believer in vertical storage, so that everything is always visible at a glance.
I also thought about the oxo brand..so I did my own test..against a cheaper priced containers from TJMaxx . So I acually closed both lids..like they are supposed to be...sealed...then I pulled up on the lids themselves...pretty darn easy to remove..without acually " unlatching" them. That told me the the oxo seals no differently then the cheaper cost ones that still look just as nice...which in turn..I acually saved more money to be able to purchase more containers..just not the oxo brand.. very very happy with the results of those containers.
Michelle you are allowed to have as much stuff as you want!!🥰 This was such a great video, I loved watching. I’m with you I hate cooking, I like simple meals. I really love all of your new gadgets, super cool. 💖🥰💝
I really needed your kitchen organization energy right now. I'm in an endless battle with the kitchen in my bachelor apartment. The cupboards are so small, I swear they were built for elves. 🤦😄 Just trying to store cookware is such a pain. I have a very regular, plain, slightly smaller fridge, so it can be a challenge, too. I keep things like cheese and dairy wrangled in clear bins to avoid them getting lost and becoming a science project, lol! Btw, I think you did a pretty fantastic job on your husband's drawer, considering. And putting your girls' tablet cords at the front of the drawer is a good idea. Maybe grab some colourful washi tape at Dollar Tree and wrap some around their cords? I used to code the crazy mess of wires for my audio visual stuff that way. You did awesome with your update! 🥰
love how you explained that ur not a minimalist , i think have multiples of something is beneficial cause what if one things breaks and you cant get to the store. im not minimalist either. and im trying to be just so we dont have to move alot of things but right how i am not a minimalist. i agree with another comment on here. your doing a great job.
Hi Great organizing today. I like to use round turn tables in the refrigerator.I can put bottles and jars on them . It makes is easier to find things without having to pull out or move several items to get to what I need. Take care until next time.
Thanks so much for your continued inspiring videos. I find so much information out from watching. Can’t wait to try out trays for the kitchen drawers. I have at least two junk drawers that are screaming for help! My refrigerator needs help lol. It never stays organized for more than just a few days. Also thanks for sharing all the fruit tools. Can’t wait to try some of those! Have a great weekend!!
Thee greatest tip for a organised fridge is to go thru it once a week before bin day that way when you do your shopping you know how much is left how much space is available and your fridge just stays functioning and biggest tip have a dedicated area for leftovers buy actual containers that fit that space efficiently and only cook what you know will be eaten for leftovers next day and freeze fruit and veg that is nearer it’s spoil date as tempting as it is the only real container that work for cutting up fruits veg are canning glass homemade jam jars fruit last so long as for anything green your crisper vegetable drawer is there for a reason the temperature and the drawer helps keep it fresher for longer and that certain fruits veg shouldn’t be stored together because they go rotten
I'm glad I'm not the only one that occasionally has expired foods. I think if I hoard anything, it's food. I wasn't fortunate as a child to have food every day so I think that's where it stems from. My cousin is the same way.
I have the OXO brand cereal containers I bought in a 3-pack box at Home Goods/TJ Maxx. Best thing I bought!! I absolutely love them. I only keep 3 different cereals rotating at a time. I also found there the smaller versions in a 3-pack I use for other things.
I am so happy to see this. Last night as I was putting things away I thought how did this pantry get messy. I organized it about 4 months ago and it looks like a mess. There are only two of us and the other person says he doesn't know where things go! Lol I love your videos and I always see something that helps me. You go girl💜
Hi Michelle, I'm new from the Eastern Washington! Great video! Don't worry about what people say! Just do what you do. 😉 if you have double or triple of whatever that's great. Your pantry looks great before & after. We don't have one. We don't really need one. Just our cupboards in the kitchen. It's just the 2 of us, retired. Your junk drawers all looked 👍 I wish I had extra drawers in the kitchen 😕 but just a few little ones! I liked your video! Thanks! Have great day! ♥️🤗
I know exactly what you mean about how it is hard to organize other people's stuff. I don't know what to do with all my husband tools and hobby stuff (and he has a lot!). You did a great job organizing your husband's drawer! My husband and I need to set aside some time to organizing his things. I know he gets frustrated because he can't find a tool, etc. and the mess frustrates me.
I love you!! I am not a minimalist either and I will never be one. I recently just purchased the watermelon cutter and I am in love with it. Thanks for this video.
Walamrt has great cereal containers they even have a giant one for bulk cerise which I love and it has a handle so it would be easy for you to grab off the top shelf!
Organizing is time consuming take time to do. Plus, you have to keep it up if you like to be organized or a clean person who likes a clean home. Just go with what types of baskets that fits you and your home without thinking differently. Don't worry about other people ways of organizing their homes.
Hi this is sharon thank you for your channel and your video and I just wanted to say you are doing a awesome and amazing job in your home for your family because at the end of the day that is all that matters ok as always stay safe and blessed until your next video
Hey michelle, loved the video and your honesty..I would recommend the oxo as it really keeps the cereal fresh for long i bought our at costco 2 for $20 ,everywhere else seems a bit pricey
I have 1 sistema cereal container it’s a 4.2 liter , I have probably have had my cereal way to long but it’s still crunchy. I’m having a problem finding a shorter container for crackers and things I could use in my main cabinet but it’s a wonderful piece 🤓😏😝
The sistema cereal containers are the best . Cereal will stay fresh for many weeks . I’ve had a set of 3 for over 10 years . My kids are teenagers now and we’ve had these since they were little.
I love your videos! I watched a previous video of yours and you used a electric scrubber for your bathroom tub/shower. Can you please link the item that you have? I am interested in the same item. Thanks so much!
Rubbermaid cereal 🥣 containers 🫙 keep it fresh for a long time. Not as pricey as OXO. Easier to wash 🧼. If the OXO lids get water 💦 in them, then mold.
Hi Michelle! Oh so much organization…loved watching! I eat so much fruit too and those gadgets look so handy. I cut all my fruit the old fashioned way but I will give them a look…esp the pineapple one! I noticed you had Jiff peanut butter…just be careful as I’m not sure if you’re aware of the Jiff peanut butter recall.
i like having cereal containers because it's easier for my kids to pout their own cereal. but when my kids where your girls ages i didn't have the containers.
Nothing better than Mason Jars. Lost a lot of money in Oxo and other brands, believe me, all pretty, but with our Caribbean climate, everything will go stale. If you want your cereal to last forever, you just seal them after each use in a Mason Jar. Is as simple as that. I have cereal over 1 year and still taste as the same day I bought it. Just maintain in a seal mason jar and keep it in a cool temperature. I use my Food Saver for everything I want to keep for a long time.
Wel I can tell dollar tree IA aplace to get cereal containers or Amazon PRAKI containers set of 16 piece set 29.99 or Walmart 1.72 Qt. set of 6 for 21.00. I hope this helps
Just a heads up with the grape incident - same goes for those little cherry tomatoes - if your kids eat those at all, make sure you cut them up too. Lots of horror stories about even 5+ year old choking and dieing with those
it lasts for two seconds since I'm not able to cook or do dishes more than for one day. I should probably rethink my ungoing organizing of our house right now...
Just watched video and listened to your responses to criticism. I just wanted to say you handled it well bc when you post your life on RU-vid, or any social media, you open yourself up to random people who may not care if they offend you. However, only you live your life. If minimalism doesn’t help you, that is okay. The concept is supposed to make your life affordable and less chaotic so if it doesn’t assist you then it’s simply not for you. You owe no one an explanation as to why you need more than two frying pans. I have at least ten for a family of two bc I like to cook ALOT. And that is fine. Do you however you do you. Others can be minimalists if they choose, you have not represented yourself as one so you don’t owe anyone an apology or even clarification. Just felt like maybe you needed to hear that.
People are so judgy if they don't like you not being a minimalist then they should watch other youtubers id hate for them see my place I think your amazing at cleaning and I don't see to much stuff at all
LOLOL keeping my husband out of there , he never puts anything back where it came from and that everywhere not just the fridge, I love him to death but that really annoys me especially if I just cleaned an area !!!!! Idk if anyone else deals with that but yeah !!
