This video was awesome! It's the reality sometimes... I painted every room in my house different colors and HATED it.... a year later I have 90% white walls because I can never make up my mind with decor! I love the peach it goes so well with your kitchen.
Your kitchen turned out so gorgeous!! We're redoing ours with dcfix to some safe neutrals pretty soon. :) Thanks for the detailed instructions. Honestly, this was better than most tutorials here! (And you're great at editing and absolutely hilarious :))
I have to say, that is the neatest that I've ever seen anyone place contact paper on their countertops. They look great! No air bubbles, no wrinkles, no rips, and tears. Every time I watch someone do this it honestly turns out messy looking. But you did such a great job! I'm really thinking about trying this out myself (now that I know it can look more professional). You just laid it down flawlessly. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hahahaha!! Absolutely hilarious - without doubt my fave tutorial of covering kitchen surfaces. Glad you got there in the end. Looks ace now and yes to the grey door!
Lol! I am so sorry it didn’t work out the way you wanted initially but the end result is fabulous!!! I love your personality! You are so funny and so real! Love that you openly shared the “fails”. We women tend to be so hard on ourselves. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
@@MyOrganisedBubble Nice video and your cute British personality is endearing. I went to B&M for the first time at Old Kent Road it was so small they hardly had anything nice or any d.i.y goodies. Your kitchen transformation was froggy awesome but I liked your old contact paper as it was more eye catching the wood look wasn't as nice maybe it was the shade you choose. Well done for trying but that was alot of hard work and effect on your part lol. The final look was very pretty and airy. Mines DC Fix marble but needs redoing now as I'm repainting my kitchen in new colours 👏👏👏👏
This is totally me!! 😂 I’m SO indecisive!! If I buy a pair of black boots, I have to buy the brown pair too! Madness! Typical Gemini 😂 but regardless of all that, your kitchen is gorgeous! Looks clean and fresh! Definitely gonna do a similar thing! 👍🏻
Great makeover! I think your door would look lovely in that peachy pink colour, the same as your walls. A large potted palm near the door would compliment it just perfectly. Greetings from Australia!
Your place screams 80s. Gold n peachy pink. I loved the brownish grain wood countertops but then you changed it. The gray is nice, but this is your kitchen n not mine. You did a great job. And by the way you are stunning. A true Beauty. You have a great attitude too. Such positivity. Love it.
I love your editing, the Eastenders clip was hilarious 🤣 You have a great personality and the video was very informative and honest. You did a really good job on your kitchen transformation. Thank you, for showing and sharing.
What a great video... I laughed so much but also felt sorry for you girl, you are so indecisive and the amount of money spent and trips to the shops is surreal.... I'm in love with your floor, need it too asap..... Hopefully today I will be changing my cupboards from wood to white as well as my daughters wardrobe and chest of drawers from black to white .... wish me luck
I love your honesty in this video, thanks for showing each stage, even tho you didn't like it. On another matter, where did you get your flooring from? It's exactly what I want for my house x
Oh this was hilarious 😂 when in reality you probably wanted to chuck a paint tin through the window. Thanks for the tips and a laugh. God help me with the wrap; I envision the same thing happening, I'm too in decisive but I'm going to try it on the shaker style cabinets too. What colour is the peachy colour on the wall please? I'd love this in my bedroom.
Just transformed my kitchen, following watching your video. So thanks for your inspiration. I also watched a few more of your videos, they are hilarious. Ive liked, commented and subscribed...!!! Keep up the good work. Stay safe
Love this vid. I have been thinking about dcfix for my worktops, but does it make them totally impractical? I take it you can't clean them with spray or put hot things on them?
Hey gurl I love your channel! how did you do the floor? and are these vinyl waterproof? I wanted to do them, but then I thought I would always be going out to get more coz my kids (grown-up lazy buggers!) literally leave water around the kitchen sink!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. This video is so refreshing and honest. I’m glad it’s not just me that’s indecisive on choosing things for the home. I liked the wood effect D C Fix but like your final choice too. Best wishes.
Absolutely love you! Had to subscribe 😊 you are so funny. Just wanted to know what was the name of the dcfix you used for the final result? Your kitchen looks 👌🏽
Barbie kitchen 😂 I actually like the wood effect for mine . But yes the grey looks better not feeling the peach 🍑 but maybe a very light grey might look good . But yes it looks fresh and clean.
Nicest edges I've ever seen around the corners. Love it! I liked your original counters too. ☺️👍. I like the last peach/light pink color it's perfect refreshing and relaxing.
Awe! I love it! At least you had the balls to try something different!! I love the light peachy color you ended up with, I love love love how you covered your counter tops and cabinets with contact paper! You are awesome!! Come to Screven Georgia USA and do mine please!!! 🙏🏼
Great video, love the kitchen. Can you tell me what the color and brand is for the gray countertops? I would like to try it myself. New fan and subscribed!
Loved your video, I’ve watched a few D-c fix how to change countertops videos and liked yours is the best. You make it look easy and I tried it for the first time today and it’s way harder than it looks, it’s so sticky and hard to get back up , to go around job etc, I’ve ended up pulling up one bit and will have to try again tomorrow , it has so many wrinkles and pulled it up and down so much couldn’t get rid of them all so in end pulled it all off, left 2 bits though and will hopefully have more luck tomorrow. Don’t know how you have done it so many times and how you don’t get any wrinkles or bubbles.
Thanks so much😊 Ahh no that's annoying, if it makes you feel better I really struggled when I first did it, it does get easier. I don't know what you're using to smooth it down but I find the bigger the smoother the easier it is x
Thank you will try that , have been using the little one in the dc fix pack with the Stanley knife. The bits I have done look good , but need to finish it , God it’s harder than you think to pull Back up and ended up pulling it Up and down so much, just couldn’t get it smooth . Will Finish tomorrow, couldn’t face it today
Ooo okay, maybe try a wallpaper smoother instead might be easier. At least it looks good though😊 How strange, I find it really easier to pull back up but I lighty lay it first and as it I'm laying it if it wrinkles I pull it straight up so it's only a small bit to pull up. If that makes sense. Fingers crossed the last bits easier🤞🏻
Hahahaha this video actually cracked me up. You’re hilarious!!! I’ve subscribed. Well done girl, absolutely hilarious that you ended up with your kitchen pretty much the same after all that work and different vinyl 😂 amazing. Well done you though for all the hard work!!! Ps I agree with the door, it stands out way too pink now xx
😂🤣 Thanks so much! Don't know how I bothered to change it so much, looking back at this🙈 Definitely! It's still pink but shock I can't decide what colour to change it to haha xx
Great video! I don't know how you could be bothered doing the worktops over and over though. The original colour of them looked great with your floor and cabinets I would've left that as it was tbh I did my kitchen cabinet doors years ago and still going strong, plus used tile stickers but never did my worktops as I know how clumsy I am and they wouldn't have lasted five minutes. x
I thought the first covering the wood effect looked stunning, I have just ordered some to do my kitchen. Please can I ask what colour is your flooring in the kitchen.
I love the vinyl combo you chose, also your skin is soo glowy. I want to use dc fix in my kitchen but I'm low key anxious about the health issues of polyvinyl chloride plastic.
Wow, so much work! Glad you like the final outcome! Do you know how the Vinyl Surface handles heat? Let's say you put a hot pan on the workspace. Is going to burn/melt the vinyl? I'm thinking of redecorating my Kitchen as well, but am still hesitant because I'm not sure about the durability.
Its heat resistant to 75C so I wouldn't put anything straight off the oven on to it but you can keep chopping boards/trivets near the oven and you soon get used to it. Other than the heat, it's pretty durable
great vid - really liked the end result - wish my kids were as adventurous at DIY, its one of their houses I'm looking at this for! A real uplift this video - Thanks
How are you not my pal ?hahaha Cracking kitchen! Can't beat a wee jaunt to b&m for some fablon! Loving the videos makes a nice change from hearing "heeeeeeeeeey guuuuuuuys" 🙄😒!
I’ve just got a new place and I’m thinking about black marble/slate vinyl for the worktops as it’s currently a dodgy white, so glad to know it’s not as difficult to put on as I though, plus when it gets to the sink I thought it’d be really awkward! Thanks for the tutorial! It looks fab btw!
I wasn't aware any one got that on film...that freak out was a private moment and I am shocked you saw it. : ) Seriously, that really is me. Far too often. I need to chill. ~ Well done you. Perserverance is rewarding. Loving the warm insert in the handles. MIX YOUR METALS all. Really works.
Having to watch the whole video again to find out the colours of dc fix you used because there not listed in your video description 🙈🤣🤣💜💜 you are so fun to watch we would be dangerous together i painted my entire kitchen 3 times 🥰🤣
Thanks so much for this video im going to attempt revamping my worktops the dc fix vid didnt go through how to join it at the corners and its helpful to know where it can go wrong 😁 i did my kitchen floor last night still havent recovered 😂
I like the peach. Dark colors and bold colors are better for accent walls like in a living room or bedroom. Paint the door peach or grey like the counter. Overall you did a great job!
Well done you!! I know how difficult it is to make that decision, well great result in the end. Main door grey and small porch floor grey tones too to complete and view from kitch will b just fab
Girl you are a blooming hard worker. Subscribed after RU-vid recommended this video. Can't wait to see back videos and of course your new ones, stay safe stay well.
I lose patience just sticking vinyl on my bedside table. Where do you find the patience to do your kitchen? I enjoyed watching. So funny. 😂 Yes, paint the front door now. It’s a lovely colour but it now clashes with the kitchen wall. 🙏🏾
You’re so likeable 😊 I’ve been wondering about changing my kitchen cupboard handles to gold, I love a bit of gold too, but the sink (same as yours) made me wonder if it’d look s**t. Yours look lovely though so you’ve convinced me to go for it. Where did you get the handles from? If you don’t mind me asking x
Great video. Love your enthusiasm. Just curious how long does it last before it needs changing... Also I take it you can't put hot things on like you can a normal worktop? X
Thanks so much😊 I usually do it around every 2 years. Its heat resistant up to 75c - So not straight off the hob and onto the worktop but you get used to it after a while. I just put trivets/chopping board next to the oven xx
It looks fabulous! ❤️ You remind me of myself. Determined and a little stubborn but able to achieve great results (never mind the time and money spent on it). Love your personality! ❤️
Random.. but I found some amazing kitchen lights and thought of you as I know you like low kitchen lighting.. how do I share them with you ? I’m not on Instagram zz
My Mam and I just watched and we said, God bless your energy and patience .. even if there was a bit of behind-the-scenes diy-rage haha. I love the colour you ended up with on your kitchen walls .. I'd love to know the colour and brand if possible? I know white is boring but just wondering if you paint your pink door grey would it look ok against the hall floor colour? Happy experimenting 😄👏 (actually I take my last comment back .. I looked at photos and the dark grey door goes really nice with the teak coloured floor 👌)
Hahaha I don't even know where the patience came from! Thank you😊 It's Valspar - Apricot blush. I didn't get to the end of this comment before I went a stood at my door like "omg why didn't I think of the floor" but like you say I reckon it could look really nice😅 We'll see x
Wow thank you for this video, I've been looking for so so long to see how this contact paper in particular looks with white counters! I'm going to buy the same color, it looks amazing!
You make me laugh! I liked the wood effect but I do prefer the grey how you have it now for sure. I want to use some vinyl in my bathroom so this was helpful thanks lovely x
Never watched you before but have now subscribed. Love your finished Kitchen .You did make me laugh with your decision making ( sorry) but you got there in the end. I would paint your hall door grey. Look forward to watching more of your videos x
Your kitchen looks fantastic!! And you have a wonderful personality :) . Subscribed! I want to try the vinyl paper but sometimes I put hot things down on the counters and think it may melt :( x
