Absolutely LOVE this video. Not only did it cheaply and efficiently solve my blender problem for me, but the end of it gave me the biggest giggle I’d had in ages. 😂 Thank you. You rock! ✊🙏
I went to use my blender today after not using for several years and the rubber piece just fell apart. I was thinking my blender was going to have to be trashed. But found your video and no, I just need to purchase the part and replace. Sweet!
@@KrizAkoni Yup. I'd just hate to get into it and find that I need a part that isn't available. After we paid off the house, it was our first big kitchen splurge so, it's sentimental. Good Luck, Rick
Remember it’s reverse threaded…you might be turning it the wrong way. It’s soft aluminum, a large set of pliers will definitely get it off. The screwdriver method does work too.
Great Video! What is the other part of coupling mechanism that holds the blade in place and engages with the coupler? I guess people call it coupling driver. I just picked up the same kitchen aid from a thrift store and it just doesn't look right. Thanks!
The tool came with the particular part I ordered. It’s 9/32”. If you’ve not tried already, you might be able to keep the motor from rotating by sticking a long screwdriver into the vent on the bottom and directly interfering with it and use pliers on the top part to rotate off. Remember clockwise is off - it’s reverse threaded.
🤣 The black stuff was sticky rubber that fragmented from the coupling. I’m guessing something got on it and made it deteriorate…it was soft and sticky instead of hard…weird.
It's crazy man,, when you're all dressed up with a button down shirt and glasses for a video you reminded me of Michael Douglas from Falling Down 🤓😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yooamJf-T_8.html
As someone else noted below, I don't believe the coupler I purchased came with a wrench (and the packing list doesn't show anything other than the coupler). I checked another parts supply house for this part, and they did not seem to include it, either. Interestingly, they recommended the flathead screwdriver method for removing the old one. I believe you when you say that's not the best way to do this, but their instructions confirmed for me that they don't send the installation tools, either. I wish I had received the wrench - my attempt to use the flathead screwdriver did not go well. Thanks for this video.

Remember clockwise is off - it’s reverse threaded. Other than that, a dremel could be used to cut it off. Sorry the screwdriver method went bad for you.
