KitchenAid Pro Line Food Processor 12 mm Dicing Kit. Food Processor Dicer Review. We are testing the 12 mm dicing kitchen for the KitchenAid Pro Line Food Processor. This is the larger dicer accessory that is available at an additional purchase. The food processor comes with an 8 mm dicer but it resulted in a little too small dice. I ordered this larger dicer because I want to use it on potatoes, onions, and mirepoix.

@AmyLearnsToCook, would you recommend the KitchenAid 16-cup Food Processor to someone who never had such an appliance? I'm thinking about buying one, as I have a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer and I'm thrilled with it. This Food Processor would make my kitchen work easier and, probably, turn it into a fun thing. But, I also read some bad reviews and don't know what to do.

When they demonstrated the dicer for the smaller KA food processors on QVC, they left the machine running and just dropped the veggies or fruit into the chute and it chopped them up super fast. As long as the pieces were small enough not to get stuck, they never even used the pusher. They no longer sell those older models but you can still watch demos on RU-vid.

It's doing a great job on those onions, Amy. Thanks for your review. And nice to see the Cooking Chef on the back counter.

Hi Amy & Eric!!! I have the 13 cup one. There always comming out with bigger sizes. I have never even used mine yet!!! They chopper looks pretty nice. Diced up the potatoes really good too!!! Sure save so much time and all even sizes. I enjoyed the video today. Hope you both have a w evening. Great video.

Helllooooo DiDi. Thanks for watching. 13 cups is pretty big. Oh No! You haven't used it yet? The dicer did a good job but seems to be a bit of work to set up for small jobs. I'd probably reserve it for bigger jobs and try to use something else for smaller jobs. It did a good job on even sizes. That 8 mm dicer was just too small to be useful. Once again, thank you for watching. What's up Wednesday should be fun. That's a hint right there.

I love fried potatoes and onions. It makes the house smell amazing and tastes delicious!!! I likes the size of the dice on the potatoes, but I really like a tiny diced onion. I just use a paring knife, but how I would love to process a bunch for the freezer.

Great video! It does look a little cumbersome to put together but great to have if you need to dice large quantities of stuff. I always enjoy watching you experiment with kitchen toys, especially mixers and food processors. :-)

Yeah it is a little bit of a pain to put it together. But...I really like the size better than the one that comes with it. Too bad you have to spend extra to get it. Thanks for watching, Rachel! The videos are a fun hobby and I love to play with kitchen gadgets!

Onions are soft. I need a dicer for carrots. Would this work as I make pickles or is an industrial dicer more suitable for me.

Unfortunately, I as a college student (senior) cannot afford that KitchenAid Food Processor. Oh well, my current Black & Decker will have to do for now.

Nothing wrong with Black & Decker. My favorite tool growing up was my mom's salad shooter because it was simple and did the job.

I think "Commercial-Style" is akin to "Kosher-Style" - kinda meaningless-! As you discovered, an 8mm dicing size is a bit small for most dicing uses - outside of salsas and perhaps diced onions used in guacamole. 12mm is a much-better starting point - which is the [default] size provided with the Breville Sous Chef 16 Peel & Dice. I also have the 8 & 16mm-size dicers for the Breville; and depending on the dish - find both the 12 & 16mm sizes to be the most-useful. How ironic that KitchenAid continues to have the audacity of labelling the kit as something other than 'Household Use' - which is *exactly* what it is. For those who've used a real Commercial food processor, such as the Robot Coupe, they'd know the design of their dicing kits - in addition to offering 10 different options, ranging from 5x5mm up to 2"-! - has the dicing grid covering the entire area underneath the processing lid. That's a far cry from the partial dicing grid and puny feed chute KitchenAid provides - even on their [former] flagship "Pro Line" food processor. The dicing grid on the Breville mimics that of the Robot Coupe, allowing the Breville's dicer to make full-use of its standard, 5-½"-wide feed chute. Large onions need only be halved, and depending on the length/diameter of a potato, there's no need for cutting-off a portion of it to fit inside the feed chute - it's a single operation. (Talk about making quick-work of food prep-!) I know your Breville Sous Chef food processor predates their introduction of the dicing kit(s), but it really shines, and performs circles around the KitchenAid design. (I would say the only stroke of genius in the KitchenAid design is that of the Dicing Kit Clean Out Tool. Pretty clever). And as always - thanks for sharing your findings with the rest of us.

Sweetie I want to ask a question Do you like the Breville sous chef Dyson peel food processor better or the KitchenAid because it will dies I’m really trying to figure out how to dice ham and turkey breast and cheese and pinko de Gallo and a lot of things I just hate sitting there chopping them up and I don’t like peeling garlic I don’t like peeling potatoes I don’t like peeling beets are turnips and I’ve seen that level peeled all of the above and do a really nice job I’m thinking I just don’t know you know you’ve used it can you talk to me a little bit about it

I would love to try it but Kenwood had a closeout sale on them here in the US a while back. I should have gotten one but I didn't and now they no longer sell them. A few people in my Facebook group got one tho.

The danger with the dicer that attaches to the mixer is that Tomatoes drip liquid into the unit and it rusts. My thickness adjustment froze up after one use dicing tomatoes.

The dicer size is too big, need 4mm or 5mm. Bought it specifically for the dm dicer but 12mm is to big. Want to sell it as too late to return. Only used 3times
