I am testing which toaster is better. Kitchenaid won all the way. The quality is much better, it is heavier, looks better and the performance is great. Smeg is just normal toaster without any special features. Plus it burned my toast 🤨
I have had the Smeg toaster for about 8 years, and it has given me perfect toast every morning. I toast wholegrain bread, at level 2. 4 is way to high. The absolute pro for Smeg toaster is that the openings are bigger than other toasters, so you can toast every kind of bread in it.
maybe you should have done another piece in the smog on a lower number.. Different brands will use different numbers for a certain brownness.. I think its unfair to says meg wasn't as good just because it burnt the toast :)
I can't tell if you atually tried to compare them or if you just gave it no thought at all, why would you assume a 4 on different brands means the same thing? Also the kitchenaid's toasting was super uneven, massively so. What does the smeg look like when you dont set it to burn the bread?
I’ve been seeing lots of complaints about the unevenness of toasting on the KitchenAid as shown here. Seems like the elements burn out after awhile. Also reports of wonky electronics…any long term owners can chime in?
I love my smeg too! Gives me perfect toast and crisp. I put it at number 2, It’s Always consistent. Not very fond of kitchenaid coz the design looks like a trashbin.
What make someone decide to buy a 300$ toaster over a 15$ toaster? Please I honestly want to know. Is the taste of the toast worth the different? I thought the quality of the bread is all the counted.
I’ve just had to throw my Smeg out. It never cooked both sides evenly. It literally ejected the toast across the room if I didn’t stand there to catch it. The last piece of toast I made in it went into the wrong side of the wire and got jammed in there. It’s also too big and bulky for me. I also like a toaster that lowers the toast. So I’ve just bought a Kitchenaid . It looks much better and matches my kettle and mixer. ( so important) !
