Daniel Papp , Thanks! only just read you comment so sorry about the late reply 😖. It’s been rebuilt after about 20 years in storage and I completed the overall in August. You in the UK?
I live in the states; North Carolina. I just purchased the plane about two months ago and have not put on any real flight time to date. The prop is over-sized so I am getting a new 3-blade Ultra prop as it currently has a 72", 2-blade, Warp Drive that the factory says is not the correct prop for that aircraft. Like your airplane mine also was a long time re-build which was finally certified in 2014. The plane only has 80 hours on the airframe but looks like it has been flying for over 10 years. I still need to do some cleaning of the interior. Enough about me though. I really like your paint scheme and the simplicity of your instrument panel. And I enjoyed the video of you flight. Very nice countryside flying.
Daniel Papp, sounds like your on a journey with your kitfox as well! I highly recommend the Ivo prop, it’s cheap and nasty but does a great job. You can chop it down a bit, change the pitch and get it just right. If you have a prop strike your not going to spend a fortune on replacing a blade. I love a simple panel, for everything else there’s the iPhone! 😉👍
You mentioned the ivo prop, I have one on an Avidflyer, with a 582. it’s the 72” dia, just wondering what your thoughts are for cutting it down a bit? At the mo I’m getting about 6200rpm full power.
Talk to Graham slater at GS aviation. The main thing is to make sure the tips don’t go supersonic! I chopped mine down just to get more ground clearance. Obviously it will need approval either way
These are great little planes, mine is in storage as I’m working abroad for a few years but will be looking at a rebuild for piece of mind in he future. Where do you fly out of? Do you still have it?
Im looking to buy one of these. Im curious as to how tall are you if you dont mind me asking? I see your knees could be a factor of getting in the way. Thanks
@@fieldsman3307 lovely area to fly around, I was converted onto my Kitfox 2 at Shobdon and into/out of various small strips, decreasing in size each time.
Fun video. I have a Kitfox III kit I'm building. Did you build this? What engine and gearbox? I really liked the 2 color paint in cockpit. I think I will do that with mine :)
Thank you Jet Helicopter. It’s got a Rotax 582 with a B gearbox I think. She looks good but we weren’t sure about the colours to start with but it works well now it’s done. I had a Mk3 with a 912 and thought it was amazing. I flew it to Greece from the U.K. and many other places across Europe. Put the biggest tanks you can find in at least one wing. I also had a wing locker which worked very well indeed
@@v1flight736 My father and I have the intention to purchase a kitfox s7 kit to build and fly in the UK. I was wondering the laws firstly on what systems were required and outlawed in the cockpit, such as can it be an all glass cockpit with Garmin or must there be some analog dials e.g. airspeed, altimeter. Secondly, I was wondering about flying in the UK, and where one can land a kitfox other than on official runways? I am intrigued by these aircraft, and I love your flying in it
Will Devey give me a call on 07796 172963 if you like. As a rule if you want to build one, buy a kit, if you want to fly one.. buy one that’s already been built! Realistically it will take a good couple of years to build even if you worked on it every day. You can choose pretty much any panel you like and back up ASI and Altimeter. You can land anywhere proving you have the landowners permission 👍
Hal Colliver thanks for the information. Realistically my father and I are too busy, and will be too busy for the next couple of years to really be able to fly often. Therefore we probably would go for the kit to initially have the building enjoyment and experience, and then actually flying it in the reasonably distant future. Unless you think that it would be unlikely we would even finish the kit, and then never get to fly it? In terms of a panel, do you have any recommendations for a more modern panel, still with an asi and altimeter gauge?
If you are too busy to fly then it’s doubtful you can find time to build I’m afraid. Building can easily take over your life, I’ve just spent 4 hours completing some paperwork for certification and that is just to answer some questions following my initial submission. As a rough guide every hour doing something usually requires two hours in the planning. The Kanardia is a superb efis and highly recommend 👍
Alex Enns that would only work if you have brakes that can hold at power otherwise it’s a case of confirming you have full power during the take off roll with enough room to abort if necessary
