In this video I'm showing how to install hush panels courtesy lights on third generation F-Bodies Firebird or Camaro. It's a fairly simple upgrade that really adds a touch of luxury to the interior.
Parts used:
Two 194 light bulb pigtail plugs
Heat gun
Heat shrink tube
Color matching wires
Four wire connectors
Two 194 type light bulbs

Thanks for the mention brother🤘🏻 I dig the General plate, oh speaking of which, I believe the 194 pigtail off the license plate lamp would be identical to a courtesy, as well as the side markers/parks on our Birds. Call me psychic, but I heard that line, “I lied” in my head the moment you mentioned using Commando😅

Thank you! Yes the taillight pigtail is longer then it should but all in all it works well, gives a nice light beam and is not ugly. I just love Arnie's catchphrases, was dying to place one at the right time. 😅😂

Exact reason why kitt was not meant to be a stick, the lower console blocks off the e brake from being used at any point in time

Good point! It also would have been a bit difficult to sell to show him drive by himself and press the clutch and shift gears - Herbie style. 😄

Thanks Brian, happy 2021 to you, too! The gear knob is a reproduction 82 shifter, but of course the center console is still from the late 80s. It's a hint to Knight Rider of course, and to be honest I prefer pressing the unlock button down, rather than sideways as with the factory T-shaped gearknob.

Positaps are a better way of connecting the wires. Could have just tapped into the door switch wires on each side. I'll be doing the same thing to my car.

Awesome job! Nice upgrade. Is that a waterproof speaker I noticed in the background? Will KITT be talking soon? 🧐

Thank you! Yes it's a marine speaker. One just like that is already installed. KITT learned to talk in episode 18.😄 I've since installed a stronger sound mixer. As you can hear in the video the sound was too low even at max volume.

I think your 194 sockets are too long.

As I said they are leftovers from the Firebird taillights. I think so too, the factory ones for the hush panels are black and a lot shorter. But it's fine, it works, I'm happy!

@@MotorScotti so long as you're happy with the results, that's what matters my dude. The lights turned out giving a nice flood effect.
