Sir, I have no complaints. As a fan of Knight Rider when I was a kid, I see this as a remarkable work of art. I hope you bought yourself a steak dinner after you finished that masterpiece, because, frankly, you deserved it.
Absolutely fantastic bob! Always looking out for your kitt videos. I have a 84 and will be starting the conversion soon. Will be great to have u here in cape town to get your seal of approval. Thankfull for all the good advice. So excited! Love ya Robert.
Video bob. Your kitt is beautiful. I agreed with you about how other will say about it not accurate kitt. It about how fun it was to build and make one person a big difference. That what video bob shop is all about. Your all about “ one man make a difference “. Thumbs NBC I’ll be there!. 😉
I used to rebuild and repair those headlights when I worked on GM, Corvette, Fiero, Trans-Am/F-Bird cars. I'm a Retired GM Master Tech, ASE Master, as well as Toyota and Mopar Master, over 40 years experience including factory, street, and custom cars. Wish you were closer to me, I'd love to be a part of building cars like this..!!! Thanks for showing this!!
I have KITT and KARR ..1 FOR 25 YEARS AND 1 FOR 10 YEARS..both daily Fast drivers..lol..they are a lil complicated to drive..but well driven.ive made them to my liking using different parts and manufacturers too. Good job sir!
Car looks great to me dude. You make a good point about haters and trolls though. Everyone is an expert in the peanut gallery that is youtube comments. If anyone trolls one of my comments i just delete it. It's nice to be nice...and if you can't be, it's best to say nothin. Anway, great work my friend..respect and peace to you.
This is gonna be a bit random but have you ever been asked to build any of the vans out of say Short Circuit? Those nova vans would be pretty sweet as a camper 😀
I don't wear suspenders but don't they typically replace a belt? I see you have a belt and suspenders. Are they meant to be used together? Legit question.
Great restoration and fantastic Knight Rider replica. The lamp fade on the "scanner" on the front is absolutely perfect. Have seen people go LED with these and it just doesn't look right. Also love the detail about how you ran the audio. And the dash looks amazing. Interior looks great. Wonderful job!
Brian Thompson I’ve heard that someone is making scanners using older style halogen lamps which gives it the proper fade. But they’re very expensive and suck down a lot of power, and also put off a bunch of heat. There may be some better LED versions now that can mimic the fade look.
@@brianthompson1138 no, the original authentic style KITT scanner used 8 55-watt halogen bulbs. Almost 450 watts of power and heat coming off the thing!
Nice work. Valid observation about "screen accuracy.". I like that you use your imagination, and concentrate more on the "fun feel of the show." I consider myself a die-hard fan of the show. Knight Rider was a huge part of my childhood, and I still like to re-watch episodes when I can. And I just want to say, awesome job!
I grew up with knight rider in 80s Ireland 🇮🇪 always loved KITT, such a cool car and my God you did a fantastic job, I'll be calling you if I win the lottery. 👍😁
Hi Bob. There is nobody more qualified than yourself and your team to build these prop cars properly. The haters are just completely ignorant and should just be ignored. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into each car, and this car looks like another great example which the owner will be proud to own. If I could afford it, I'd have you build me a time machine !! All the best mate !
Hey Bob the haters are gonna hate because they are jealous, fact is if the customer is happy with the car and you're happy to put your name to it then sod everyone else
Another masterpiece. You do turn out the best TV/movie cars. To hell with the nitpickers, trolls and hacks who pollute your site with their endless whining. Can't wait to see you do a Family Truckster. :)
As a Knight Rider fan with three 3rd gen Firebirds in the garage, this car has my respect. Someone wants to nit-pick this and that on the car? That's cool. Is their KITT better and more accurate?
Massive fan of Knight Rider since I was four years old. This is a beautiful reproduction of the car, as to me it's not so much about the individual switches (some which were used once never to be seen again) but whether you can look at the car and get that rush of nostalgia and love that fans got when watching the show. This definitely is one of the replicas which ticks all the boxes for me. Outstanding job. Now, if only I had $75,000+ dollars...
Hey Video Bob! Just came here from hearing your story about getting locked in that body shop. Really enjoying the videos! You can really tell you've been doing this for a while. Cheers!
Have you ever considered doing a Miami Vice Testarossa? That would be awesome too. Expensive. Last year I saw a 91 for sale in Columbus Ohio $62,000.000 not bad for a Ferrari. I know that the Vice car was a mid 80's but man they were cool.
My first car was a 82 Trans Am base model with 5.0 liter V8 with 4 barrel carb and with 13 inch wheels with the bowling ball covers. KITT was a 82 TA with crossfire fuel injection and 14 inch wheels. My car came with the lower fender fairings you mentioned. Lost a cover to a pothole and bought a new one from GM Parts in 85. It was different in that it had metal clips to hold on to the wheel better. I eventually upgraded to the 15 inch wheels and low profile tires that the 85 and later TAs had. Made a big improvement in ride quality. My car started life as metallic silver with lt grey interior. Had it repainted all black after a light accident. The silver had started going bad. Laughed when the Formulas came out in all one color and 16 inch similar wheels. Had two of them. A 89 and a 91 both all black with lt grey interior. Both with the turbo hood. With the nonfunctional plastic block off panel.
just keep in mind that in season 1 , there are no triple lights on the front and that the turn signals are not filled in or deleted . they have a lens cover over them either smoked or tinted flush mounted with 2 screws on each side of the covers so that the factory turn signals still function
Great looking KITT Bob! The guys who get bent out of shape about the "accuracy" of it...they need to move out of their mother's basements and learn of the joys of boobs!
