The supply problem seems to be with vendors everywhere. The government taxes inventory and property ( storage space ) so heavily that nobody is willing to keep anything on hand that doesn't sell very quick. Damn sad. Best Wishes to everyone at Anderson Construction.
Jeff I just watched Chris using his new to him Hyundai 330 with a stumper attachment, basically a pair of ripper claws. That thing works great on the stumps and it looks substantial enough to me that it might do a pretty good job on your rocks as well.
Those petrified dinosaur patties sure are a pain. Maybe holler at these guys. Hebbronville Machine Shop. They also have a RU-vid channel. My closest Cat dealer is in west Texas.. I don’t have to deal with them anymore but it was a regular thing to have to wait for a few days or more. Same thing with truck dealers. Famous words were, “I can have it here tomorrow”
!I have been reusing my hose ends. Take a small grinder cut along the feral both sides then use a cold chisel to break the last bit. then crimp on a new feral. The things you have to do when you live at the end of the earth.
Great video Jeff always enjoy watching you and your Boys figure out a way to dig up rocks with out moving all the dirt too. Love the drone footage thanks for sharing stay safe Jeff.
Yeah Jeff! Our local dealer branch could make hoses but they usually place the order through the Indy location. And often they have to order ends. I wish they were willing to reuse the old ones but I guess it doesn’t pay! I’ll probably just give my old ends to you guys. I can’t wait to see the rake you got from them!
Brutus rod is spendy but when you factor in what it will do it’s probably worth it. I have never used a lot of it but when I did use it I was dang glad I had it. Jupiter rod for cast iron makes welding cast iron so easy. No one believes me when I tell them about welding pumps, engine blocks and the success I’ve had. Never tried welding a head . Love you channel.
🇬🇧 🇬🇧. Hi to everybody at Jpaydirt looking at the size of that field from the drone shot , thou I appreciate the ingenuity of the claws on the Bucket , I think a Screener would be a much more efficient option , plus you would get some lovely " Top Soil " as well . Keep the vids coming always looking for the next one . ☝☝ 🙏
All dealers seem to stock less parts. We work with mainly Deere on ag stuff. The local dealers used to stock parts then they merged with others so now they spread the parts over 10-15 stores. They also started relying on the warehouses to provide parts which wasn’t terrible till shipping became a pain. Stock orders used to be 2 days now it can be 3,4 or more but you don’t know until it doesn’t show up how long it will be
Yes Jeff, we constantly of the problem of not having the correct part/fitting/filters, for our newer machines. I’ve got an old D8H and D7G. They have every part under the sun at my dealer or the part can be there first thing in morning. It’s Stupid. My old machine I can wait to get going. My new, very expensive machines, it takes days or even weeks. Seems like if you bought it new and are still making payments on it the dealership should have the parts on hand or at least get it overnight. Had a turbocharger go out about two years and there was a 47 day lead time to get a turbocharger. That’s stupid
Interesting Project. Was wondering why not try and rip that with Kill-Dozer Or a Root Rake? I've seen Hyd. fitting shortages across the place's I have hoses made lately. Must be because of how great Bidenomics is working or the slow boat from China. Take care of Mr. Griffy, We had to put our 14 Yr. Smooth Collie down week ago Today. Little empty around here. TGP RIP Sophie
I hope you don’t have to clean up thst whole area! If I did, I’d get a big grizzly and a trommel. Just dig everything out, screen the rock out and put the dirt back. Still a huge job.
A thought after following and watching your videos over the past. You are pulling up so much rock, instead of burying it again buy a rock crusher. Crush it at the homestead and have a small stockpile. That way you have some on hand and not spend as much a quarry.. Just a thought. Love your channel and videos.
Maybe you could fabricate a frame for the claws so you can simply grab it with the bucket and thumb and not have to change out teeth. Or maybe something like an old grader ripper might work, just grab it and start raking.
I think Jeff got the D7 ,and I think it had endured a fire, then the D9 popped up and he couldn’t resist.., (brand new rails, undercarriage, tracks etc.,), and knows the other D9, is in need of repair/refurb.
Wonder if they do a lot of rebuilds and they allocate those parts. I had a truck broke down up in Iowa at one point and the local dealer would not give me the parts I needed because it was for the rebuild side.
just a thought but could you get a root rake for a bulldozer like the one chris has and lenghten the tines on it or maybe make a mount for the rippers on a bulldozer that is wide then the bucket why do 5 feet at a time rakeing rocks when you could do 10 feet or maybe something like the rippers from the grader with twice as many rippers
I tried 2 different speakers to be sure it wasn’t on my end. Sounds like whenever the boom is going down, hydraulic oil is cavatating. Immediately stops when boom starts back up. Not sure if that’s what’s really happening, but listen to the first 2 minutes of the video, and see if you can hear it. 👍🇺🇸
@@davidclaudy4822 Yes, that was the video. But just watching Chris with his new Hyundai 330 and the stumping attachment he bought for it, I'm wondering if something like that would work well on the 336 for combing out the deep rock that Jeff is dealing with. Maybe use the stumper to bring them up and the root rake to gather them into rows or piles.
So mine was ordered with the long reach boom and longest stick, with the smallest counter weight, it's a 13 ton and needs to be 15 ton, so watch out for that. mechanically it's been fine, but it also had the fuel pump update before I bought it, then we did the update on the egr cooler at 4k hours, if that goes you will dump coolant in the engine and worst case bend the rods, I don't know how the C9 holds up to the egr but over time it will destroy the top end. I want to delete mine as were at 5k hours and it need the dpf cleaned
@@Jpaydirt I’m probably looking at an older, pre-DPF machine both to avoid that problem and simply for budget reasons. What is the fuel pump update for, and is that applicable to older models?
@@txviking a 336D then? the issue with the pump was a shaft that had a hardening issue and it would fail and fill the system with metal and ruin the injectors, if you bought a used one have your dealer run a service and repair history on the machine to find out what has been done to it, more than likely it was fixed as they didn't run long before failure
@@Jpaydirt TBH, I’m still learning about the model numbering and which letter suffixes match up woth which years. But yes, that sounds right. Budgeting about $50K for a machine for a startup.
Hey up mate re the hose ends just buy a new machine and keep cat happy I'm sure they will look after uz, with the rocks i think your mod is cool and proper farmer style but probably better to just get out of idaho and the potatoes , do luv the stuff you do jon
Scarcity is the only thing that seems plentiful right now. We all wanted more for less. Industry responded by going to China to take advantage of cheap labor. Now we have to pay the fiddler.
We have a little bit of everything, case ih, new Holland, cat, peterbult. Nobody keeps anything. Its always 4 or 5 day's out. Hell that's a whole work week of downtime. But who cares.
With a literal field of rock would it not be better using a dozer fitted with a rake? Just drop the blade to maybe 6" from the ground and let the teeth pluck the rocks out of the ground. It's mainly a rhetorical question for my dumbass. I know just enough about earth work to be dangerous. Watching you, Camarata and LetsDig18 is my entire education. If it were more practical I am sure you would be doing it.
That would work, but finding a rock rake for a D9 might be a little difficult, but now that I have more D9's I could find something or build one and then leave it on the machine so I don't have to change it a lot
@@Jpaydirt I suppose it would depend on how often you do these kind of jobs. Once a year would not be worth it. But having a dedicated rake rig would enable you to take more jobs of that nature because you would have the efficiency to do it profitable. All very confusing. But the welded rock fangs are just a brilliant modification!
