this kit was so good, I made 2 of these aircraft and was just amazed at how well designed it was. never put a better fit model together than this.

I restarted plastic modelling after 40 years. I tried italeri and other kits in 1/48. When I saw your clip I thought to change the brand and ordered exactly this kit, AH-1Z. Have to finish some others before I start with it , but really cannot await until I start with the first steps, like the cockpit and instruments! Great film, by the way 👍🏻

Another beautiful model.....a most enjoyable series with lots to see and to listen to. You have given insight into the pitfalls of this model which will be useful to other modelers willing to take on this product. I look forward to watching your upcoming FW 190 series and what's to follow.

Nice job!! Could that cloudiness have been caused by glue vapors? One thing, I've never seen grey blades, just black. Also if you wanted an extra touch of realism, you could have painted a thin stripe of color on the blade grips( both main and tail rotor). Red, yellow, green and blue are normally used on 4-bladed systems to aid in track and balance.

X2 on the grey blades. I'm a Marine helo mechanic. We only ever had black blades and the wires were bundled up in the avionics bays. Aside from those details, this has been an absolute beautiful build! Thanks!!

Lovely build, a terrific job, may I ask, my kit included two resin crew figures and a piece of fine metal chain, but no instructions for it's use. Have you come across this or can suggest it's use? Regards John.

I am new to airbrushing and I noticed that your airbrush is very fine. What nozzle size do you use?

So, I think I am using a .15 nozzle here. But having said that, you don't need a nozzle that fine, a .35 will do just as well. All you need is practice. What I am trying to say is that a minor variation in nozzle size can easily be overcome with practice. Hope that helps :) Good luck.

Lol i couldnt help but notice that the choppers captain is ranked as a LCPL (Lance Corporal); thats a junior enlisted rank of E-3. The only way a LCPL is getting near the helicopter is to clean it, or load munitions on it. Should have been a Captain (O-3) or higher, possibly even a 1st Leutenant (O-2). Not your fault at all, more the fault of the company; just figured i'd share a little fact.

A plane captain is in charge of the maintenance, much like a crew chief, and would be an enlisted Marine, certainly not an officer. Officers don't get their hands dirty on a helo!

Plane captains are who is responsible for the bird. Not the pilot, who would be the officer you're referring to. The Lcpl is accurate here. I'm an AVI mechanic with the skids.

Any particular reason why you used black for the base coat?

Hey Larry, the use of a black base is a personal choice, the reason I do it is firstly it gives very nice natural shadows, if the second coat of paint is carefully applied. Also, I like the depth it adds to the subsequent layers of paint. Maybe it's all in my head...lol.

Good at painting, even if I don't like the smoke effect. But you have to hide the seams of the semifuselages: Joining marks are evident and this shows that it is a model so any realistic effect is useless
