Hey brother. I babied it to death after seeing your video a couple of years ago but inevitably, my Super Sea Wolf 68 developed the exact issue yours did. What was the outcome if you don't mind me asking?
Sure thing. My watchmaker discovered that one of the gears to advance the hand set was installed upside-down! There is a flat side and a beveled side and STP had it reversed. It was a simple and inexpensive repair but STP should have caught it in QC. That is where I would start looking. Love the T-shirt, brother!

Wow, so you had to turn down the pins/screws on a lathe? Talk about some old school Russian engineering. "Use bigger hammer!" Soooo glad I never bought that Ural... Cool project, though!
