Literally found this exact model on the ground walking back home today.. very little rust on the blade, but 8.5 out of 10 on the look after alcohol clean. had to see what I was getting myself into with this here tool. Thank you for the honest and awsome review.
We had one as a “work knife” in the gang box at an old job. We used it for lunch to stabbing at drywall to get it off a section.. whacking out screws.. we abused the shit out of it. As of the day I quit four years ago, it was still going strong. I believe they cost $19.99 on Amazon. I mean for that price.. it’s a great knife.
I have used mine for years. Probably made me 10X what is worth via work. The only negative I will have is the lock feature. I have removed them on other SOGS, might do it to this 1 also.
Dropped it once and the lock literally fell out of the knife deeming it unusable, disappointing for a $30 knife when Kershaw makes nearly indestructible knives for as low as $15.
Thinking of buying another SOG (multitiool) after I broke my last one, but am on the fence since they were bought by GSM. Of course they didn't honor the "lifetime" warranty (unlike Gerber who sent me a replacement no questions asked). Anyway, good review. Hopefully they'll at least keep the quality up for their premium knives.
@@SuperCitizenI had one for a long time I broke the tip but other than that great knife. I use mine as a tool so they break I’m Not spending 300 dollars on a bench made that I’m gonna eventually break honestly I stay with Crkt knives now where I live if you buy one from a shop it’s a lifetime warranty just bring it back and they swap for a new one
I just bought one at full price for my EDC, camping and hiking but after looking at it and feeling it I absolutely hate it I'm for sure returning this cheap junk. It's not very sharp at all out of the package and it feels super cheap to the point I'm worried about breaking it. Side note who the hell puts a safety on a pocket knife like really who thought that was a good idea.
Any update? My son paid full price, felt it in hand and returned it the same day. I was not impressed. I recently picked up a Kershaw Atmos and think it's a solid upgrade for the same price.
Off-topic.. but CRKT sure as shit does. I got an M16 4” 04SS and the grind was awful. I complained on one of their IG posts passive aggressively.. not even trying to get service just whining. They DM me same day and asked for a pic. Then my address.. they overnighted me a hand sharpened one AND it’s mini version the 02SS for free and a box to mail back the old one. They said they’d have normally let me just keep it but they wanted it to send to the OEM for quality control. Like, they couldn’t have handled that any better. I got great service and $70 in extras for a small mistake that didn’t even damage the knife. Just putting that out there, CRKT cares.
