This is a pretty amazing offering honestly. What really separates it for me isn't just the page design and the font, but also all the notes they have. And it seems like they have defined a lot of archaic terms in the footer, which really opens up the KJV for a wider variety of readers. Personally I find that really helpful.
A year later, how is it holding up with use? I just got one for my wonderful niece. I hope it is solidly constructed. The paste-down liner is what made me wonder.
Try his is such a lovely Bible ! I love the size of this bible it’s perfect to grab and take along with you. I was so happy to learn it is a Red letter edition . Thomas Nelson really did an Epic job with this beautiful Bible. Thank you for a great review. I appreciate you showing us the features and pages.! I just ordered this Bible after watching this review.
I just opened mine, and it is beautiful! This was one of the videos I saw of yours, Tim, and it was my first intro to the Sovereign Collection. Thank you very much! (P.S. I’m a Bible/Church history nerd too!)
I am late to this video...but I did pick this up used in a leather soft version. It is nice but I find now I like the Maclaren version better and I was able to get both KJV and NKJV leather soft version that match, could not find a Sovereign NKJV. Still keeping it in my collection.
They did a really great job on this. I think the only thing that would make it even more perfect would be a few woodblock type illustrations which were commonly found in a lot of vintage Bibles.
Schuyler, Allan, Cambridge, Humble Lamb, even Thomas Nelson's own premium collection are all outdone by this offering in one way or another EXCEPT the actual cover. I really wish they had gone all the way with this and gave it the cover it deserves (supple goatskin with a full yap and leather liner) and actual art-guilding. I have been searching for the perfect heirloom Bible for quite awhile now and have checked out the best of what the big players have on offer and not one of them have all the checks that this has. Solid paper, line matched, drop cap lettering, book introductions, in chapter headings in color, words of Christ in red, psalms and proverbs in prose format, the proper fit in your hand size, ... The others have these features but none of them have them all in one book block. If I am wrong please do correct me.
Outdone??? Hardly. Better covers, better binding, better paper, text not lost in the gutter, art gilt, better ribbons, etc. this is a Jude Bible but to compare to Allan or Schuyler? Come on. :)
If you had to choose between this Bible and a KJV of the Schuyler Bible-which one would you choose? Thanks for your videos-I love each and every one of them.
Hello, Brother Tim. Will there be a large print 10.5 font in the KJV/NKJV Sovereign? Also, any word of Nelson producing imitation leather bibles with a synthetic pastedown? Nelson bibles are always beautiful, but this irritates me. Lockman and Tyndale have Nelson beat on this point. Glad you enjoyed your vacation AND looking forward to your new book. Peace and Blessings for you and Becca.🌹🌹⭐🌹🌹
@@timwildsmith Just a quality equivalent to Schuyler's make (I have their wide-margin Bible which is awesome (although I wish it would have come with thicker paper). I need to watch the review again. I've been up all night and feel like a zombie right now.
@@Pastor4all52 Ahhh... gotcha. I wouldn’t hold your breath for a premium version of this. I got the impression that they were intentionally offering something that would be a less expensive alternative.
