This is ironically funny. This is no disrespect because Tim is a GOAT level singer but he based his entire vocal style on Rob Halford of Judas Priest. And if we're talking about the perfect archetype of what a heavy metal singer is all about, that guy is the Metal God, Rob Halford. BTW, I just saw KK's Priest and they're amazing. I'm so glad that we still have two great bands out of this musical divorce. Both of which are still making incredible heavy metal music.
KK's Priest is rocking! Ripper is fantastic as usual. He did a great job while in Priest and he is doing it now. It's awesome they played Burn in Hell, great song.
Imagine being 72 years old and playing guitar like this... WOW! And what a voice Ripper has.... again WOW! I hope he takes good care of it, otherwise in a few years he will only be whispering!!!
What a great time to be alive. Judas Priest tours. Yet, we are blessed to see KK bring Metal to the stage. We see Tim “Ripper” Owens hold down Judas Priest Metal once again. Sean Elg has been killing the drums with Nihilist, Cage, and Three Tremors. Now, with the band. With the stellar musicianship of A.J. and Tony, they are destroying!! Truly ONE MORE SHOT AT GLORY!!! 🤘🏾🤘🏾💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damn I didn't know Niko McBrain could play bass also. Rad. K. K. always in top form. He doesn't get the credit from the mainstream world but he's held in high regard by anyone with a pulse and ears.
We lost K.K. from Judas Priest, but we won a f***ing awesome new band! With Ripper Owens raising the flag of metal with is power (always loved the Ripper era in JP) The remaining band members make it all tight as hell! Props to the sound production for the astonishing work capturing this gig. Thank you.
Yea! "The ripper" is that 80's POWER blast! Real good guys!!! 55yr old death metal head here lookin for that GRIND!!!!! ** Nobody mention that drummer just kickin ass!!!!!
Ripper is one of the most underrated vocalists in history. His two albums with Judas Priest were fantastic and even after so many years, he continues to sing wonderfully. Spectacular show!
Boggles my mind how Tim Owens isn't consistently in most lists or discussions of the greatest metal vocalists. Only explanation I can imagine is because he's probably best known for replacing great singers in established bands (Priest and Iced Earth to name the two major ones). Dude frigging wails but what blows my mind is that he sounds exactly like late 90s Tim. I'd have expected him to lose some of that high end. Dude is a machine.
He is skilled but he brings nothing new to the table that hasn't already been brought by Halford, Dickinson and all those before him. He's basically a metal karaoke singer, kind of like that Ronnie Romero guy.
They played back to back at Wacken 2024; both bands delivered fantastic performances; Tim was invited to sing Balls To The Wall to close the Accept’s show.
I had the privilege of talking to KK Downing about 20 years ago, at the American Airlines Admiral’s lounge in Santiago de Chile. He is a very down to earth person, very humble, very witty, he even let me hear the Angel of Retribution track, which was not even released yet!!!. That’s how kind he is. Aside from that, KK Priest with this line up and in this particular concert, they kick major ass, every member is at the top of their game. I do miss Les Binks, but Sean Elg, is just a superb drummer. The sound engineer deserves a raise, the sound here is just awesome!
Beyond The Realms Of Death. Definitely my top 3 songs of all time. He nailed the Glenn Tipton solo note for note. My favourite guitar solo of all time.
Outstanding!!!!! This band rocks!!!!! Love the guitar riffs but what I love much is the great Tim Ripper Owens performance. Pure Power and Heavy Metal on his voice
Been to their show in Munich this year. The only thing I missed were another 30 mins of playtime. They sounded perfect and badass hard. Haven't bought a shirt for a long time after a show, this time it was a must. So did my 2 friends.
I've got to be honest. I love (classic and current) Judas and KK Priest, but this does feel a lot more like classic Judas Priest than they actually do now. Just a phenomenal, powerful performance and amazing vocal ability, actually gave me goosebumps at times.
Priest (I mean the true one) is a category above this, and not bc it's bad. IS just make every other metal albums released recently sound weak, and not bc they were bad, but bc JP still knows something no one els does. With the help of the best producer of them all, Andy Sneap. Maybe KK would need a decent producer and a decent creative partner with whom they could write a couple of better lines....
Incredible show, top notch performance from everyone in the band, this is the definition of heavy metal and how it should be performed. What a times we´re living, thanks KK for putting this together, what a band ! And, I´ve said it before and I say it again, Tim "Ripper" Owens is in the best form of his life, what a beast, LIVE !!!
Kk.downing is one of my hero,,what a band he has together teaming with Ripper, what a voice,,,priest will always be my fav but this band has blown me away ,great lead duo, great sounding bass, and thundering drums ,,,another great band to focus ,congrats all involved,,I simply just loved,,,,kick ass....lozza down under
Two Priests going at the same time! What a time to be alive! Funny enough, the only thing that would make it better in my opinion, would be for them to play more ”new” stuff live. KKs own records are fantastic, it’s a shame that not more of them are played live
I'm glad KK came out of retirement. He clearly still has the hunger and he still has a lot left in the tank! Ripper Owens never fails to amaze everytime I watch him perform live either, he makes it look effortless!
