Brings back good memories . Also I think that the Evolved are not on the good side , they were actually the ones that started the conflict with their fanaticism and fear of the unknown while the survivors had to return to the surface as their vaults were barely sustaining it's habitants .
Actually, having just played this one (and sequel), Survivors do start the war by shooting first. However, Evolved are... yeah, they don't really need an excuse. They don't even talk about defending themselves. They just go "Symmetrics are back. Better kill the now before they can bring forth another Scourge."
Actually it's ambiguous who started the war of 2079 with the nukes: vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/kknd/images/d/d0/KKnD_Manual.pdf/revision/latest?cb=20151226224117 The people who started it could have had ancestors whose descendants became the survivors and the evolved for all we know.
@Acantophis3rd When I think of it from that perspective, the survivors kinda start to remind me of the Enclave from Fallout games. If you are unfamiliar with it, the Enclave are survivors of a nuclear war, the most pure humans there are as most of the population on the planet is mutated in a way or another due radiation and the Enclave wishes to purge the planet of all humans to make room for themselves, the "pure" humans. The evolved atleast survived on the surface and adapted...
Speaking of which I own and beat all the main Fallout games on PC (though I only beat Fallout 3 on the Xbox One, I'm working on the PC version) so I know what you're talking about. And yeah the Evolved managed to adapt. @Jimbeanlover89 Not meaning to be picky but according to the background story the Series 9 actually observed Survivors and the Evolved fight and realized they had no weaponry to do battle so they began weapons designing and production process of their own and then, 40 years later, were ready to enter the battle.
It's funny how he says they will restore the land and then it shows big industrial city with polluted land and sky. It shows human hypocrisy, ignorance and duplicity.
