What an Intro... and fantastic soundtrack!!

Holy CRAP! I haven't heard about this game in years. I used to play this all the time on my old windows 95.

Ahhh. The good old days. I still have a copy of it.

The lore of this game has much in common with the lore of another game called Fallout. Yeah I know Fallout is turn based 3rd person shooter strategy and KKND is real time strategy but the games have the same theme: A post apocalyptic world made due to nuclear war. Anyways here are the similarities: * A post apocalyptic world made due to nuclear war. KKND has the War of 2079, Fallout has the Great War/World War 3. * Humanity often surviving in some secure underground shelter. KKND has some unspecified shelter whereas Fallout has Vaults. * People not being able to make it to the shelter for whatever reasons and suffering negative consequences. In KKND not everyone could make it underground, in Fallout not everyone had reservations for Vaults. * Some people getting mutated due to the radiation/viruses. KKND has the Evolved, Fallout has the ghouls and mutants. * Similar starting years for the apocalyptic wars (prologue). 2079 for KKND and 2077 for Fallout. * Similar starting years for the game. KKND starts in 2139 and Fallout starts in 2161. * Discrimination between the mutated and the non-mutated. * Both games feature mutated creatures. For example KKND has giant scorpions and so does Fallout! I'll list more reasons later.

It´s interesting that we never actually saw the ruins and wrecks of that futuristic city and its cars in the games. If it comes to ruined cities and vehicles, they all look like 90s New York or such, What I mean is, there are no ruins of this weird angled skyscrapers that are seen being bombed by the plane, nor that bug-like cars that are driving around before the bombs. Just plain ruined cars and houses of the 20th century.

The city got blasted by a nuke yet it appears to be only conventionally bombed. I mean sure the damage is more than cosmetic but for the most part the buildings are still standing. As I said before on another KKND cinematic video you posted, this game is pretty sad. I mean what were the original human forces that started the war? Before the Evolved and the Survivors? And why? This game seems to allude to human nature, briefly. That humans decided it's more important to kill each other over disagreements than simply not be dicks to each other. Something that made you think while you were building units and structures.

best area of effect weapons for survivor units are: barrage craft and siege tank. best area of effect weapon for evolved units are: beetles and missile crabs, mastodon moves way too slow to be considered effective, my snipers can tear those mastodons apart.

nice video but the end of this cinematic is wrong, the autocannon tank beats the missile crab, just keep the autocannon tank moving and the missiles will never catch up with the tank and tank can destroy the missile crab easily, only units that autocannon tank has a tough time against are infantry units as it can only target one at a time

1:05 how did an aluminum can not get vaporized by a nuclear blast? Hell, it did not even get moved just damaged

no ur not, this is the era of the fps genre and the lazy kids :P i thought and still think that the 90s were the best time to grow up just because of all the cartoons you got to see and all the games you got to play
