I'll repeat what others have said: the side switch DOES turn off the device. In fact, it has mode memory, too! Whatever mode you like, press, and hold, the side switch. When it turns off, as long as you use the side switch again to engage the light, it'll return to whatever mode you were enjoying. I've had a few lights, and I work often in the attic. For the price, the modes, the tactical features, the longer run time....there is nothing better in my opinion. Great review! Don't see many actually showcasing the importance of the dual spring for the battery.

bought one of these today, based on your review. it was between this and the olight m22. Couldn't go wrong with either but the tail switch style and the side switch lockout of the klarus made the decision for me. Cant wait to get it in the mail

I really do love that you can make the side button disabled, because I don't want to be out in the woods and cause any attention to myself accidentally.Also i really want to see it in the black bezzle.

I have one on my AR. I love it so far I keep on the Tactical Assault setting. A little over 1700 rds with it on, aligned with my muzzle and no hiccups. I wish the bezel came black, but other than that it's awesome.

I have found that the lights that lose there charge are the ones with electronic switches that always draw a small current. The Klarus light has a forward clicky switch for momentary and totally breaks the circuit when in the off so there is no "vampiric" drain from the side switch while off. My personnel edc is the Fenix E11, sadly no longer in production but i bought 6 of them so i have spares :} for my tactical lights i use ethier the fenix LD35 or the Thurnite TN12. both have electrontic side switches and maunal forward clicky switches. Following your review i will be getting one of the Klarus XT11S, thank you very much for pointing me towards this light. In return may i suggest you take a look at the Fenix LD41 4 x AA light, it does not have a side switch but has a dual switch on the tail on/on forward clicky and mode changing switch. I have 4 of the older versions with i have picked up from the second hand market at very reasonable prices. Once again thank you for all your videos take care and God bless you and your family.
@sootch00

Thanks Wolfman! I'm a fan of the Fenix lights which are excellent quality. With technology advancing, many light models are being upgraded so when you find one you really like it's best to stock up. Take care brother!

You are costing me more money for Klarus lights lol, while browsing there other lights i came across there 1 X AAA the Klarus Mi02 with the Nichia white light GS emitter putting out 13 ANSI lumens for 20 hours 14g/0.5oz looks very much like the Fenix E01 for $10, but is 2/3 the price of the E01 here. I have gotten several Fenix E01 for each member of my family, but if the Klarus Mi02 proves as good i'll buy afew dozen (yes i mean dozens i am a bastard for getting spares) and use some for making up get home kits for friends and family. Now i am looking at there AA lights damit.

The accessories for this are: • Traffic wand (flexible w/ open end) • Red (low light) filter • Blue (blood tracking) filter • Green (map reading) filter • White (general lighting diffuser) filter • Aggressive bezel (which also can be used as table stand for low lighting) • Adjustable double-claw clamp (for mounting to bike or other structures) A pretty robust lighting system (especially for the gadget guy!)

they're definitely not indestructible. I had mine as a duty flashlight in the trunk of my patrol vehicle as a backup and the summer temperatures ruined the board. Now it only lights up to about 20 lumens no matter what I do.

I have the Simon Cree Tactical and it's really good. Very solid and the light is top quality. It's more than your $25 range, but it's close at only $30 plus tax. I have one in my bedroom and one in my car. I have an Elzetta on my AR, and would love to have 3 of them, but the Simon has worked flawlessly. I like the low power so the batter lasts, up to 500 lumens, strobe, and it's even got a SOS Morse code strobe.

@8654ZuluFoxtrot
@8654ZuluFoxtrot 8 лет назад
Complicated is only an issue if you don't train and build muscle memory. If you use it all the time, you will build muscle memory. It shouldn't take very long to develop muscle memory with this light, there are simply two buttons that feel completely different. I don't own one, don't plan on buying one because I rely on top brand flashlights that are proven in combat and in law enforcement. But to say this is "too complicated" to even give it a try, I don't buy into that with a 2 button light. Sootch is good-to-go with reviews. For the price it's really a pretty decent option, very well worth a look.

Half-push for on while pressing, full-push for steady-On. Full push again for Off. It remembers your last setting. Set it & forget it.
@risingawareness13
@risingawareness13 8 лет назад
True, and false. Sure, things will work better for you if you train with them. However, that's no reason not to opt for something simple. Simple works much better in the heat of the moment when your attention is on the threat in front of you. Like a CPU, your brain can only process a certain amount of data at any given time, and has limited resources. And, for a few useless bells and whistles, you're reducing the likelyhood that the light is going to do what you want when you need it the most. You want to increase your chances of successfully defending yourself, not decrease them, right? It's fine to have all the special features on a general purpose light, but not for a dedicated tac light. You wouldn't argue that having a bullet button on your AR is as good as a regular mag release if you would just train with it, right? Why? Because simple is better. KISS.
