The first time he wanted to use her for the sacrifice but used Jenna instead, the second time he didn't even know her when he ordered Tyler to bite her and changed his mind on a whim and the third time he bit her because she rightfully called him out on his bs. Three assassination attempts in total.

Well, Stefan's initial attraction to/interest in Elena stemmed from the fact that she looked like Katherine and people call that an epic love so I don't see how it would be worse if Klaus initially likes her for her specific looks...
