Would you ever want to add a filter in the welcome series to remove them from the flow if the started checkout? Won't the customer get all of the welcome series emails and the abandon checkout emails at the same time then being too many emails?

I wouldn't remove people from the abandoned checkout, I'd adjust the content inside if anything but it's rarely the case that people get too many emails

how many of these emails should have design?

Most of them. I usually do email #2 as plain text and optionally #9. All the other ones have a design

@@NazirLer Right, plain text is rarely used. I love to send text-only emails when they're personal (story from the founder, VIP announcement, TY message, sale reminders, etc)
