Thanks David, really appreciate that! I really should get the finger out and do the follow-up review piece. I've had it over a year and ridden almost 10,000 km wearing it, so I have pages of notes to talk about 🤔
@@Hutchys-Adventure-Tours nope, never let water in, and I've spent some long days in the same riding in the lashing rain. I have heard of other people having this issue though, some were able to resolve it by tightening up the visor mechanism on both sides of the helmet, but this hasn't worked for everyone I'm afraid
I recently purchased this helmet, I also tried the SHOEI HORNET and the ARAI XD4 and I obviously chose the KLIM KRIOS PRO right away just because of the weight, the downside I found is the noise at high speeds on highways and shadow you get with the peak other than that I think its a great helmet.
I have a transition Pinlock, purchased in the Netherlands. Using it on my Nexx helmet. The effects the peak and UV has is minute. In a few seconds the pinlock darkens in the unexposed areas and is hardly distracting.
It’s gone up since I purchased it a two years ago. Pinlock is actually a trademark company. In case you weren’t aware. Currently, for my helmet it’s at $67.00 (about 57 euros). I do see they sell pinlocks for Klim. The product name is Pinlock ProtecTINT. I don’t believe it gets as dark as the lens that’s included with your helmet. I didn’t check to see if this was available on their site.
Yeah it's good to have options, you could do a long spin with it in road mode, then when you get to where you're going & want to do pure off road, switch it into MX mode. Saves you carrying an additional helmet etc.
This is a $800 helmet after taxes. You would expect perfection in all aspects and it's almost there BUT the visor will NOT stay where you place it. Open it up a few notches for extra air, first little dip or bump in the road and SLAM down it comes! I love everything about this helmet except the hinge plates. They are very cheaply made. It makes me wonder if anyone that actually rides tests them?? It is a $800 helmet WT Actual F?!

Please do the fallow up video! How is it holding up in the long run? Is the visor working well with the peak?
Great review, just trying to convince myself to buy one of these. Did you ever do the real world review? keen to know how you got on with that peak and the transitions visor in sunlight.
I've loads of notes for the follow up review, it's just finding time to shot & edit it is difficult at the moment, life very busy etc. but hopefully soon! I've done over 10,000km wearing it so think I've got a good handle on the good & the bad points of the helmet 🤔
Nice review and helmet. I wonder what the advantage over i.e the much cheaper Nishua Enduro Carbon helmet is (price tag under 200 €)? The two helmets seem very identical? Not forgetting the Uvex variant. I think the base is the same …
From what I gathered, the closeable front vents, Mips, fidlock closure and maybe better internals. I'm thinking to get the Nishua and fit the Klim Visor, would still be less than half the price...
Hi > thinking on buying helmet as had peak and transitional lens … but they recommend you remove the peak to stop spitting … how did you get on real World, Sir ?
Hi Gareth, will have a follow-up video coming soon(ish), just flat out with work at the moment but hopefully get time to shoot & upload it next month and will go through the good and the bad. 👍
Hi Lee, I take a Large in an Arai but with a Med skull cap & slightly bigger cheek pads, so if you're considering the Klim & trying to size it based on that, I'd advise against going off of my weird shaped head 🤣
Yes, out of the box it's marked compatible with the Sena 10U comm system for a low profile solution, but if it was my money I'd go for the Cardo Packtalk Slim as it's a better rated system while still being low profile. The good news is whatever comms system you go with, installation should be fairly straightforward as the helmet liners are very easy to remove/install as they're just held in place by velcro strips & a couple slot fittings. Hope that helps 👍
@Trooper Ted I'm very curious if it has a nice speaker pocket filled, like some helmets on the market or do you need to put the speakers on top of eps/koroid and hope they won't squeeze your ears to much?
Hi Paul, I haven't got round to it unfortunately, life v busy but once I do there should be some good info in it, as I've used it in all conditions for over 10,000km since I posted this video. I know it's cheesy, but if you hit the Subscribe button, you'll get notified as soon as I put up the video 👍
The helmet just doesn’t hold up to Competition. Not sure who actually manufactures it but as soon as you put your hands on it you can feel lack of quality
