New subscriber here. I recently purchased the Arai Tour X5 and did a review video on it but I thought I’d probably made the wrong decision and thought maybe I should have got one of these. I still keep looking at the Klim Krios Pro but having watched your video I’m a bit happier with my decision. My issue with the Arai is that my DJI Mic 2 literally touches my mouth. I think there maybe more room in this helmet to accommodate the mic. Great video buddy and very informative. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
@@theblackcountrybiker I've now also got the Mic 2 & mount it offset against the left cheekpad. It's not completely out of the way, you still know it's there, but it's not pressed against my mouth like when I'm wearing my Arai Chaser
@@TrooperTed thanks for that info buddy, that might sway me to sell my Arai and get the Klim. I really need to try one but no one near me has them in their shops so it would mean an online order and possible return it if it’s no better that the X5. 👍🏻
Hi Ted thanks for your reply back to me in relation to my query regarding transport of a bike from France to Ireland. I was thinking I would have to pay for both ferry journeys including the sleeping cabin for both journeys, I was surprised by your answer with a rough quote of price. Andrew.
I love my Krios Pro three things I hate 1# My visor would make a squeaking noise in the wind. I made a 3D printed TPU spacer for the top mount position Fixed. 2# if the visor aluminum visor screws on the sides come loose its a PITA to get them back in the right spot. 3# my front upper pad mount is held in with double sided tape. After time in the heat the tape let loose. Had to Epoxy it permanently back in place.
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! Documentation, I needed to sign change of ownership, an export certificate & they had a certificate of conformity (CoC) for the bike. They kept the export cert, I kept everything else. Anymore questions, just shout 👍
@@gabrielboni1 The dealer had it all sorted for me when I got there. To be honest it's not something I thought of in advance, but if it's anything like the UK V5 it's just a section that attaches to the ownership document and needs to be filled out and sent off to the relevant body. If you're buying from a dealer I'd say to make them aware the bike is going to be exported and they should know what to do.
Hi i'm Andrew from Cork & i'm interested in buying a 2005 Yamaha WR250f in France as there's a big selection with not too much a high mileage. I'd like to ask you would it be cheaper for me to have the bike flown over because I only have a provisional A2 licence?
Hey Andrew, you can get it collected by a courier company and dropped to your door (I did this with my KTM a few years ago). Some companies you could get prices with are Overlanders, Ted's Trucking & Jarvis Transport. I reckon it would run you about €800 depending on where the bike is located in France. Flying it over would be prohibitively expensive & needs special crates, like the ones new bikes arrive in a dealers in.
Given its passed both DOT (America) and ECE 22.5 (Europe) testing, I have as much confidence in it as my double D ring helmets. Fid lock have a list of their buckle types on their site and the only one rated for motorcycle use is the HOOK 25, which has a break load 3-4 times higher then their other buckle types. Every crash is different and no system is bulletproof (e.g. Rory Skinner in BSB had his helmet come off in a crash only a couple weeks ago) but I've had no qualms about the system. I hope that helps David, and while I have you, can I ask how the audio on the video was for you?
Ah, but the actual petrol cap itself, once you've turned the key & unlocked it, which way does it lift up? Depending on the answer I hop to be able to tell you which tank ring you'll need
@@user-xq3lu5zp8f then I believe you'll need the Pro tank ring (part # TRT.00.787.17000/B) for your 2024 790, but best to confirm that with the reseller so you're 100% confident you're getting the right parts. Don't forget, its rotated 180 degreees compared to most bike tank rings to allow the petrol cap open fully 👍
Its a bike shed not a studio, but I'll keep lighting in mind for future videos. I was wearing a mic and audio is coming through fine for me/everyone else?
@@TrooperTed without being as brash, I also noticed that the audio is pretty quiet and I had to adjust my computer audio and external speakers to 100% to hear anything. For the lighting, maybe setup a shop light behind the camera that shines on you and the product :). good videos, keep it up!
Thanks @@rileyportwood9106 for the feedback, scratching my head that you too had audio issues, as I set the mic gain and normalized audio levels in post as I normally do, checked with a couple friends and audio sounded Ok to them? Will also look into better lighting 👍
Hi Tony, that Niken from the review video I posted in 2019 was on loan to me so I could write an article for a bike magazine and shoot the review video you saw. I was recently offered a very low mileage Niken at a keen price, but I don't think I'll get it down the side of my new house, so I need to break out the measuring tape to confirm as I'd happily use one for commuting/winter bike duty if I could make it work.
When changing the air filter doing oil change follow the two pipes that are connected to the super charger houseing they will terminate around the kickstand and have little bottles/cans style (catch can ) remove them and drain put back on as the rubber lines fill up with oil water .If not drains you'll start to get oil leaking up around the super charger houseing
With the peak fitted, you'll definitely feel it/ hear it at motorway speeds but on the back roads it's absolutely fine. I'm sure it would be a better experience with the peak removed, but as I covered in the video, that's too fineky for me personally. Wind noise isn't terrible, but being a peaked adventure lid, you have to expect some noise. I never ride without good ear plugs & that helps massively
The Klim Krios Pro is a $800 helmet after taxes. You would expect perfection in all aspects and it's almost there BUT the visor will NOT stay where you place it. Open it up a few notches for extra air, first little dip or bump in the road and SLAM down it comes! I love everything about this helmet except the hinge plates. They are very cheaply made. It makes me wonder if anyone that actually rides tests them?? It is a $800 helmet WT Actual F?!
same it's the best helmet in my rotation right now, but the price is not worth it for what it is, and it's over 1k USD after tax imports where I live zzZzz

looking to build a shed. been working on my stuff outside the last 5 years and im sick of it. How does that bike lift work? what do you use if you want to lif the bike and work on the front end? ie forks or changing front tyre etc? you tying the bike of that beam above on the roof?
I've been that soldier, worked on my bikes in the driveway for years, in the cold & wet, no fun. There's a foot pedal to manually raise the lift, you keep pumping until he bike is at the height you want & when you're finished, another pedal to release the pressure & lower the lift back down, it's brilliant. For front end work, I remove the wheel chock assembly & use a front end stand that lifts the bike by the headstock 👍
@@eddmelter1012 mine is the manual foot lever type that can lift up to 450kg, they're currently €650-€700 from a quick look online but keep on eye on 2nd hand websites like DoneDeal or FB Marketplace and you'll pick one up cheaper 👍
My MT10 was stolen in April 2019 and the UK police didn’t even attend. I installed a CCTV system and within a week of my bike being replaced they triggered an cctv alert where they had returned for the new bike. They broke 2 cameras. Thankfully due to heavy security, I have had peace for 5 years now.
Think the governments of both UK and Ireland have lost their way, they are mean't to represent the people. Seems their in it just to see how it can benefit them. Discipline gone, crime gone up, respect disappeared. This lack of response to crime by the police etc makes my blood boil. Do-gooders, who needs them, bring back good old fashioned discipline..
This has been around for years , such a shame you found out now. Anyway i used permanent strength instead of the semi for the bolts. Personally i think there should have been a recall on this.
years ago a guy had a lot of parts from his Harley chromed at a chrome shop. Parts of the bike, chassis, and fenders, and parts of the engine. Each part, he would have his social security number etched into that part for identification. back then in the 80s that wasn’t as big a deal as it is today about SSI numbers.. his bike was stolen after he got all his chromed parts on it, and he had been riding it for a while years later, he goes to a motorcycle swap meet. Lots of chromed used parts, laying out on the ground and on portable, folding tables. he finds a part with his Social Security number, etched into it.. he contacts the state police.. They investigate the seller, they search his house and his shop, it’s loaded with disassembled dozens of stolen motorcycles, the crook goes to prison for operating a motorcycle theft ring..
Clever! There's a similar system nowadays called Datatag, but the problem in Dublin is the bikes aren't being stolen for parts, but so scrote bags can ride the crap out of them and post them on TikTok before setting them on fire or tossing them into a hedge/river :(
I bought it 2nd hand off one of the Ducks years ago Liam, one of the bests things I have in the shed, couldn't be without one now, they make such a difference
Cmere that type of title is cruel I was about to donate my life savings to you to get a new engine, can't leave a H2 die like. Black Loctite for that so eh 😂 Just pure cement and be grand. Blue eh. Soft stuff 😂 Nothing worse than the auld nighttime brain replay lowlight reels. My least favourite brain function. Glad it was all good btw :)
Garda in Ireland is not effective, it's paradise for criminals. Jails like hotels, teenagers can do whatever they want. The government is circus. When all illegal immigrants Will see that there is no criminal liability here. Hell will open up.
A clear consequence of law abiding citizens too fearful of the consequences arising from reacting to and against non-law abiding scumbags.Surely one way to petition the system is to take the law into your own hands. The prosecutors will be left with the choice of prosecuting good people defending their rights, or bad people abusing the system. It will eventually correct itself. Don't forget, thats how these laws were established in the first place, by community creating them for the benefit of the community!
@@keithgoggin3329 yeah, I was always told a little is all it takes when it comes to Loctite, so had to resist the urge to absolutely slather the bolts in the stuff 😂
The gangs are deliberately under age they work in 3 or more , most bikes are burned or scraped some sold to other bike raider gangs , one gang stole 13 bikes there sentances ranged from just 2 years to suspended demand your governments act both England and Ireland
I’m new to bikes and had my ER5 stolen and found in Finglas in bits. Had a guy reach out who had his two bikes stolen, had pictures and names of the lads who did it. BTW I keep seeing these big bike groups and I know this one was a protest but how do I get I involved?
Hi Darren, I found out about the protest on the r/motoireland group on Reddit and Motorcycles Ireland group on Facebook. If there's to be another protest I think I'll do a video in advance to try and drum up any many bikes as possible, so keep an eye on here as well!
Signed. I noticed these little b@stards in my city. All in black with a balaclava and a phone in hand riding around with no reg plate. Scary indeed and I worry about getting my bike back on the road.
I'm in New Zealand, i signed the petition gladly. Great to you guys stand up. I worked as a motorbike courier for ten years to pay my bike off and cant imagine how devastated i would be if someone just took it. I guarantee if they stole a police bike they would stop at nothing to get it back.
