KLM’s decision to adopt the A321neo reflects broader trends in the aviation industry. It’s great to see airlines investing in newer, more efficient aircraft.
There are many fleets running old Boeing and Airbus narrow body fleets that have been flogged like buses. This is the last jet transition before any more radical design and allow for SAF fuel as a blend now and pure SAF in future
any old aircraft will have issues such as old airframe etc, the reason the A320 has less crashes is because the 737 came out in late 60's, a year where commercial jet aviation was new. compared to the A320 1984 which came in a time where aviation was more advanced.
@@OfficialDoggyYT Not really. A320 are much safer planes because they’re modern redundant fly by wire machines with many software protections since the first day they were introduced back in the late 80s. A Max is still the old cables and pulleys concept. It’s the oldest tech aircraft Boeing still produces, it doesn’t even feature a EICAS, something even 757 and 767 already have. Except for the Max (because MCAS), 737s are good reliable planes, but they’re like a good vehicle from the 70s restored with more modern and efficient engines.
@@miks564 exactly what I said, the A320 came out in a time where commercial jet aviation was somewhat new, the technological advanced etc, you just proved my point. If it was the other way around you can bet the A320 would have more crashes
Flying is an acceptable risk, but flying with Boeing means pushing the limits of what is acceptable. Passenger comfort, safety and sense of security should not be underestimated. With Boeing that is long gone.
KLM's decision to move away from Boeing shows what for L they are.* Moving away from a company you have been working with ever since 1920 is a backstab.
KLM's shift to the A321Neo shows their commitment to efficiency and sustainability. It's great to see airlines making choices that benefit both their operations and the environment!
As a fan of aviation, I'm excited to see KLM embracing the A321Neo. This aircraft has a lot to offer in terms of efficiency, range, and passenger comfort.
KLM were Douglas customers WAY before Boeing. I believe they had nearly every model that Douglas and then McDonnell Douglas made, When boeing took MD Over, they went with Boeing, however, have had had Airbus before
Not to forget that the Airbus planes (except the 220 which probably will be overhaled soon) can be flown with minimal training on each type. That is waht Boing tried to do with the MCA sor their 737 and the new Max planes. They failed to do it successfully because tey were to cheap and did not do it properly. People died due to this. I would not fly a Boeing for the foreseeable future-except the 747. That is so old, it has matured enough to work.
The A321neo’s improved capacity and noise reduction features are impressive. KLM’s passengers will likely appreciate the more comfortable and quieter flights.
With the A321neo’s extended range, KLM will be able to explore new routes and offer better connectivity. This is a smart move for their fleet strategy.
KLM’s switch to the A321neo makes a lot of sense given the fuel efficiency and environmental benefits. Excited to see how this impacts their operations!
For long time i may say i am fan of Boeing, but since the problems that Boeing cannot solve and the good developments at Airbus i can no longer say that. Also, support your local, and together with Air France, KLM has a great deal for the choice to switch over. Transavia also did a great job to switch over to the Neo's. Thumbs up for both. Wish them both many safe flight hours.
The statement that KLM could be an all Boeing-company is factually incorrect. For shorthaul KLM has heavily invested in Embraers. So, KLM always kept their options open.
The decision to move away from the 737 to the A321neo shows KLM’s commitment to modernizing its fleet. Great choice for reducing costs and improving performance.
Come on, right now you gotta be really confident to fly new Boeing planes given all that has spilled out of their backyard. I certainly avoid the MAX and will keep doing that for many years. The fact that the producer basically lied to the operators and the authorities is brutal and reduces to zero the confidence. The NEO has simply bigger+more efficient engines, and for a few generations this has been enough to compel operators to new planes, since fuel is their biggest spending. The NEO with its fuel efficiency is like a Small Dreamliner or A350, very suitable to long point to point routes.
It's also fair to add that Boeing has been forced into slowing down it's operations by the FAA who unsurprisingly wants to keep a closer eye on how the American company goes about their business and so Boeing aren't able to fulfill their orders as quickly. The knock-on effect of this is that some airlines will look elsewhere. KLM has already bought several Embraer airliners and are currently replacing their 737s with a321neo as you have touched on. They have also ordered several a350 to replace their Dreamliners but delivery isn't until 2026 for these long-haul airliners.
Had a friend who lived in the Amsterdam neighbourhood of Buitenveldert, some 600 meters from the descending planes using the socalled Buitenveldertbaan, runway 09/27. godawful noise even at 600 meters distance and especially so in the early morning. Noise reduction for Schipho; is a major thing for the people of the region even if it is not so much a commercial driver like using less fuel or flying farther with the same amount or transport more for the same amount of fuel.
Yes I also live in the Netherlands and everytime I fly from Schiphol i hear the Boeingplanes make so fucking much noise yeah can hear the everywhere in the airport sometimes also silently in the bathrooms
The A321Neo's quieter engines and increased passenger capacity are major advantages for KLM. Passengers will definitely appreciate the improved experience.
@@FLIGAVIA Flew with TAP on 330 and 321, and i was surprised by this aircraft. (had to book extra legroom tho). Was quiet, could have a solid rest on a long haul flight. With KLM's friendly staff i possibly would choose for them. And sometimes you can have really good deals with KLM, even tho they are mostly a bit on the high price. But you get what you pay for... KLM is solid good.
Boeing has neglected to design a new aircraft and has always added new parts to the 737, which originally dates from 1967, until they were left with an outdated aircraft to which no more parts could be added. All this to please the shareholder, because developing a new aircraft costs a lot of money, and now, they have been sideways passed by Airbus, who are bringing a new aircraft. So the shareholders are shooting in their own foot.
Plus the engines can't run in synthetic aviation fuel SAF. It's main Dutch hub wants to cut flights but not passengers, so "bigger" planes need to be ordered now for definite delivery while cutting costs so that a bigger seat capacity plane can run with less passengers at the same profit margin. It may also be an indication that Airbus pilots are "easier" to recruit. Mostly is frustrated Boeing has as this will add to KLMs cost in having two fleet types even if the 787 would be less efficient on paper
Sign of the times , Boeing current issues started many years ago , I just watched a TV aircraft investigation involving Boeing complacency many years ago . Boeing could fold as an aircraft manufacturer I believe. They have themselves to blame . Boeing using an updated aircraft based on the old 737 , they can not complete with airbus , providing new and better aircraft . If it a Boeing I am not going , if I flying Boeing I may end up going ! Reputation is vital for survival in the airline industry.
And let’s also not forget the aspect that Schiphol is requiring reduced noise levels from airlines to resolve or at least accommodate long lasting complaints about too high noise levels from people living in the vicinity of Schiphol Airport. As due to the expansions over the years -both of Schiphol and of the built up / housing areas surrounding the airport- noise pollution had become and still remains to be an also politically sensitive issue.
It is an Air France decision! KLM has no influence in this decision. AirFrance/KLM the most expensive price for an outdated interior and service! Bye-bye KLM...never fly again with the most arrogant personal they have!
Boeing is a classic example of what happens to a company when the bean counters assume the power, in this case, instead of design and engineering calling the shots. Hunger for short term gain overlooks the potential for long term pain. The MAX is not the only problem in the Boeing camp. The 787 line in Alabama is also suffering quality issues. I wouldn't be surprised if KL eventually replaces their 78-9 fleet with A350s.
@@AndrewLarson-mq7xc The only way that will happen is if their corporate culture undergoes a massive change and wrests power from the accountants. How many "overnights" do you believe that will take?
KLM’s focus on fuel efficiency with the A321neo aligns with current industry trends towards sustainability. This move could set an example for other airlines.
KLM's decision to unify its fleet with the A321Neo aligns with the Air France-KLM Group's strategy to streamline operations. This move will likely bring significant cost savings.
I am surprised that you do not mention the fact that the Airbus A321 neo is delivered to KLM in a containerized version. B737max does not have this option. For loading/unloading this makes a big difference for the ground staff performing this tasks. In view of Dutch or EU legislation this is not to be underestimated.
With the delays to the Max 10’s certification makes sense. Also, let’s be fair the Max is a bit of a disaster! Better be safe this time and stick to Airbus until Boeing can get it’s house in order.
calling the Max a disaster in 2024 is pretty wild, also what happened to that A350 again which was supposed to be "uncrashable" stated by Airbus? seems Boeing isnt the only company to lie
Sorry, but it is a disaster, if anyone can’t see that they are deluded. Boeing are killing people with a poor company culture and shabby manufacturing practices. I am no Airbus fanboy. At the end of the day Boeing used to make great products. They have lost their way. Airbus have made their mistakes that’s true, but nothing on Boeing’s scale. The max has proven to be dangerous several times. It’s a flying coffin.
If you want to renew old 737s the choice is either the Max or the neos…. Not much of a choice I would say. But that’s just me…. These guys usually only care about operational costs.
I wanted to Garuda Indonesia need to Says "GOODBYE" to BOEING 737 and 777 and turned to AIRBUS including A220, A319neo, A320neo, A321neo/lr/xlr, A330-800/900neo and A350-900/1000 xwb/ulr also for cargo flight A350f. So the Garuda Indonesia will have only AIRBUS than BOEING for the future.
Wise decision, Airbus currently makes/supplies a better and more reliable aircraft with better performance on noise/kerosene use and a more spacious seat layout.💪🏼
