klonoa sounds like he lives the loneliest life ever. Though the appeal of his shorter stature, bigger irises cat eyes and the simplistic design with the ears looking even bigger in comparison is what I miss.

There's actually a theory that the King of Sorrow is a manifestation of everything Klonoa felt after being torn from Huepow. And that Klonoa 2 was basically Klonoa accepting what happened in Phantomile and moving on

One thing I find very interesting about the lore is that the final level in Lunatea's Veil is called "Hueponia," with hints of music from Door to Phantomile mixed in with a sad lullaby, and synth wind sound effects. Really cool stuff.

@@DiGiValentine love your videos digi my man and i support you no matter what :) i like how both klonoa and nights give a different ideaology of the realm of dreams with nights being more straightforward and klonoa being clear but also rather ambigous and even suprisingly dark and mature like the grandpas death(i always thought he adopted klonoa when he 1st shown up.) and the reasons for klonoa being a dream traveler. also omg thats really awesome that you like tenchi muyo. its one of my top 3 favorite anime from toonami and yeah ryoko's my favorite(alongside washu and mihoshi.) :3 p.s you should totally do a who dat? on tenchi muyo and one piece(like how you compared bayonetta's confidence to boa hancock which makes me want to see a bayonetta outfit for her in a switch one piece game since it would be totally be something to imagine bayonetta doing hancocks looking down on you pose. lol.)

You know what that means... :D Dualizing Nights and Klonoa! But since they are both dream entities i imagine they would kinda fuse like how the Nightopians and fuse with the Nightamaren. In other words Klonoa in NiGHT's snazy jester suit while having that NiGHTS' face instead of his cute one. oh the possibilities, too bad i can't draw worth beans to actually do this because i would love to. Unless you don't support emulation, try emulating it. If you're against it you can buy a PS1 for dirt cheap and games for it used are usually 10 to 1 dollar.

my theories are that goddess claire might be klonoa's mother (biological or not) or ancestor even though I've never noticed their resemblance before, or she's his protector. since huepow and lolo, popka etc. share the same universe (hence the moos and language) and hey might live on this huge unified planet with lots of kingdoms that summon klonoa from time to time, it makes sense to me that there are klonoa-like creatures in that universe and claire could be one. maybe klonoa belongs to a very mysterious tribe which has been destroyed after claire became priestess and klonoa has been gifted with the ring as a toddler, maybe he's been abandoned or he's been brought up by claire while his people were slaughtered.

I love the games so, so dearly, the story is emotional and engaging, the characters ooze with charm, and the art direction, music and level design fundaments everything into an incredibly harmonious, beautiful, and delicious cake of a game. Whoever is reading this, I urge you to play the series if you haven't already. If you like platformers and emotional investment in your video games this is a game for you.

There was a Klonoa game on GBA that was released in Europe. Empire of Dreams. Falling somewhere between Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. Klonoa wakes up in the new Dream World and is promptly arrested by the Emperor's guards. The Emperor suffers from insomnia and had banned all other people from sleeping, but he gave Klonoa a deal. If he can defeat the four monsters that are wreaking havoc in his Empire he will be set free. One fact you see in the game is that Klonoa (being a Cabbit) HATES carrots. PS: Loved your Klonoa review of my favourite game franchise.

Yeah, love Klonoa. I've always felt there was something more fantastical about the original Klonoa design, I like the Klonoa 2 design but it feels so corporate with his new backwards hat and Sonic eyes to make him more appealing to the mass market. Also when original Klonoa showed off his fangs was always particularly cool and I don't think they do that later.

YA YA YEAH! GOD Klonoa 2 was such a prominent game as a kid for me. Always looked for used copies of the first game to no avail back then. Absolutely EVERYTHING about that game was so polished, coordinated and overall perfect for the hardware at the time. There was a ton of Japanese fan work for it too back then, like remix CDs which I really want to find some copies of. So I don't think it'd make a great Who Dat Episode, but if you haven't already, I'd very much play through the original Spyro trilogy for the ridiculously dreamy environments. I put them in the same category as NiGHTS and Klonoa, just for the amazing crystal coated, vibrant worlds and over the top, fantastic music to accompany them. Particularly the first of the series. Thanks so much for covering Klonoa and reviving some old interest. Haha Might try to seek out the Wii re-release.

I'm a long time PlayStation player but I've never played this game before or heard about it until now, I grew up with kingdom hearts on the PlayStation system and I still love that series to this day, and I recently got into shantae with half genie hero in 2018 on ps4, the new shantae and the seven sirens I want to play that too

I was actually waiting for this particular review to come out! Funny how you mention the Nights and Klonoa fandoms going hand in hand almost, i just knew it'd be a character id see on this channel eventually. Hey, I just wanted to tell you how much this video means to me. I’m a huge fan of your channel, and this video actually introduced me to Klonoa. Ever since then, I’ve been completely obsessed with the series and I’ve met some amazing people in the fandom (including the creator of a fan continuation of the Klonoa webcomic) this is by far one of the best fandoms I’ve ever been a part of, and I wanted to thank you for introducing me to this amazing series. Klonoa is supposedly getting a remake/port sometimes soon according to a trademark the surfaced in September of 2019, and I’m so excited to finally be able to play a Klonoa game that isn’t a spin-off (I found one of the GBA titles at a used game store a few years back) you’re the coolest bro, and I hope that you and any other Klonoa fans in this comment section have an amazing day
