"obviously you could just get a new jet"..... This is why I love these Shlogs. I live in a place where I can't just go out and get a new pilot jet or any number of other new parts. On this channel I learn useful tips for actually repairing and modifying parts as opposed to just buying new stuff. I already knew the copper wire trick but I learn new useful skills every time I watch these videos. I never get bored or skip though any of these Shlogs. Excellent as always
I was dead broke and bought a 2003 KLR for $900. Needed chain/sprockets ( as usual) and the oil drain threads were stripped. I dumped a pail of used motor oil through the engine while running a pipe tap in to the case to fix it. Put 10,000 miles on that thing in the year that I owned it. Kept a rock on the seat to beat the ice off the switchgear so I could push the starter button 😅 Other than the vacuum petcock it was flawless for me, but damn, I never want to ride one of those pigs again! Swapped on XR650R forks which finally gave the bike a reasonable front brake. Sold it for $2,000 plus a '98 CR250 that I sold for $2,800. That KLR is one of the best financial decisions I ever made! Keep plugging away, Morgan. You're doing great with your channel, man 👍
I'm pretty sure if you run Rotella in Gen 1 KLR's, no air filter maintenance is required. It is advised to replace it after it has disintegrated though.
Good to know about the TBI TPI TSP reader non compatibility. Also, working on Beta's has lead me to think the quality is not great especially when dealing with anything electrical. Yes, all bikes have their issues. Would like to see what you find out on the Husky issue and the code that was flashing at one time. Love the shlogs along with all your content. Best site on the tube! I'm excited to see another new vid rating products. Keep up the great work Morgan, you really are good at what you do.
My Beta 500 runs hot all the time. Always over 200. Regular to be over 220 in slower stuff. Not uncommon to see 250 in the gnarly. I've seen 280 and still never boiled.
